  1. I think that says everything we need to know about facebook, right there.
  2. I am really enjoying this build. I always appreciate a builder sweating the details. Some very fine model building going on here.
  3. That's got 70s all over it. Cool period build.
  4. Great kit bashing. That's looking good.
  5. Very cool custom van, Lee. Nice style and good looking body-work. Nice work on the paint, too. That looks like a heck of a lot of masking. Nice, clean lines. What tape do you use?
  6. Sweet Ranchero. When I read the title, I wasn't sure an old Ranchero would look good as a low rider, but I was wrong. That looks great. Perfect tire/wheel combo, nice colours. Very cool!
  7. Yeah, that can be tough. Lots of cleaning and flushing. One of those airbrush cleaning stations may help, though I've never tried one. I am actually shopping for a second airbrush to be used for metallics only.
  8. If you are willing to pay the price for a commission of a 'fine' build, be sure to see examples of the builder's work before a deal is struck, to ensure your expectations will be met.
  9. I have this intake from a Polar Lights '64 GTO. If you think it will work for you, send me a PM with your address.
  10. Nice build of a very interesting concept car, and a very cool old kit. Thanks for the good photos of the kit break-down. This is the first one I've seen built, and I have always been curious about the kit contents. Well done.
  11. That is one sweet Comet! Man, it looks good. Love the rake. Super cool!
  12. You're knocking this thing out of the park. Nice work all around.
  13. Me too. The closest thing to it I have seen so far is Humbrol satin black.
  14. That's one fine Street Vette, Mike. Very nice paint work. All round cool.
  15. Excellent work, Matt. I would have been overwhelmed by the prospect of those body mods, but you have handled them in fine style. Simply beautiful. The 289 was always the better Cobra engine (short of a Cannonball Run attempt), and a coil sprung 289 would be the cat's pajamas. I never knew of this version of the 'Cobra' prior to your WIP thread.
  16. Very nice looking Chrysler. That big Hemi should get it hastily down the turnpike. I like seeing these old kits built (or rescued, as the case may be).
  17. Interesting project, and a big fat YES on the 4-speed. Unless I am building a replica of a specific car, everything I build is manual shift.
  18. This project is crazy impressive. Inspiring work. The newly printed Webers look exceptional.
  19. The photos really don't show it well. It is not a particularly smooth paint application, but the texture isn't has heavy as it appears in the photos. When there is good daylight, I will try to get some more representative photos. It can be applied smooth, but will always have a matt/satin finish. By way of comparison, the shaker scoop is gloss black with a flat clear, and it has a rougher texture than the hood, though the photos show the opposite.
  20. Very sad news. Snake, you have already been missed. R.I.P., and model on.
  21. Wow! I had no idea he had passed. I had noticed he has been absent from the board for a while, hoped everything was ok. Very sad news indeed. R.I.P. Snake.
  22. Could you use white transfer letters on a black decal? And if you are building a Lotus, I hope you show it to us.
  23. The chrome moniker is weird. It's a matt finish and works well for black trim. It's a particularly black flat black. I love it and made sure to scoop up a couple bottles when Model Master called it quits. I like it for hoods on muscley Fords. I took some photos of an example, but the lousy lighting makes it difficult to show properly. The way the light plays on it in the photos makes it look grey, but it's actually quite black. More so than most standard flat blacks, and seems to have a mild sheen to it.
