  1. The colour seems to have changed throughout the years. The wheels from the 60s/70s appear to be a light flat grey, while the later wheels from the 80s on wards appear to be a much darker flat or satin grey. Whether there have been just these two variations, or many variations of grey over the years, I can't say. For early period builds, I go with the lighter grey. Greg's suggestion to use primer for this would work well. Additionally, they are frequently painted and could conceivably be any shade of grey, or any other colour for that matter. There may be actual specific colours for the different eras, and perhaps someone will chime with specific knowledge. A flat or semi-gloss finish seems pretty much standard across the board. On the two examples below, the Torino is wearing an unknown dark flat grey, and the Mustang is wearing a lighter custom mix of Tamiya Tank Grey and Flat White acrylic, approximately 70/30 mix.
  2. Cool build concept, and it is coming along nicely. This kitbash works much better than I thought it would. It's looking really good.
  3. Cool Starliner, David. Nice detailing. Extra cheeky with the slicks stuffed in there.
  4. Beautiful Rambler. Very nicely done, Randy. Probably the cleanest build I've seen of this kit.
  5. Available with optional Top Loader, too. Should be an excellent unit for a Shelby build.
  6. Looking great Pierre. Love the colour.
  7. Looking good, David. I painted the chassis on mine flat black, but seeing yours in the correct brown, I wish I had had the wherewithal to do the same. It looks so much better (and correct).
  8. I agree with Pierre. Your knowledge of the intricacies of these cars is impressive, as is your tenacity in sorting the issues and non-conformances. It's great seeing these lesser known cars built and appreciated.
  9. Yeah, that body surface is looking quite good, though I did think the body you were working with was well sorted. Either way, very impressive.
  10. Second photo is Revell '40 Ford Street Rod.
  11. The '55 makes a surprisingly good looking drag car. Very nice work. That thing is freaking cool.
  12. Very cool! Good looking funny car.
  13. Nice work! Good looking stock car.
  14. Very nice work, David. It's coming along nicely. Likely the best build I've yet seen of this kit.
  15. Very nice, Bruce. Can't beat the colour combo. A lot of realism in the dash, too.
  16. Great collection of classics. The Lotus Elan is quite tidy, and the MGA looks great with the beefy wheels. Some very cool Land Rovers too, and is that an FC101 I see. Thanks for posting Les. Very cool stuff, including the landscape photos.
  17. Cool little city commuter. Very Isseta-esque, clearly a modern take on the old design. Cooler than most modern micro-cars.
  18. Welcome to the forum, Steve. Enjoy.
  19. Welcome to the forum, Alex.
  20. Welcome to the forum, DJ. Enjoy.
  21. Sweet little Honda, Harry. Nice clean work.
  22. That is one sad looking Hudson. Very nice work Andy. Nice weathering skills.
  23. Another cool Beaumont project. Nice work on the bespoke details.
