  1. Cool, I'll be watching this one. I would like to do a 550 build myself some day.
  2. I have been using 3M half-masks for decades at the model bench, and at work. For model painting, I get dozens of paint jobs out of the cartridge, which in my world means a few years use. Really, they should be changed annually (or more frequently, if you paint a lot) for the work we do, but if you can't smell paint when spraying, you are good to go. When I do change my filters, it's just because I feel it is [past] time to do so. Keep the mask and filters in a sealed bag to extend the life of the filters. It is important to note that you should not smell any paint at all during use. If you do, the mask itself may not fit you well or may require adjustment (or, you might need a shave). The pre-filter (white pad) will greatly extend the life of the primary filter by catching the larger paint particles, but is otherwise unnecessary. Congrats on your wise purchase.
  3. I haven't tried it myself, but I have heard that decal solvent, such as Microsol, can be used to soften and remove old decals.
  4. Great looking old Ford. Man, that thing looks right. Nice clean work. Love it!
  5. Beautiful truck. Very nice. Love the hood ornament.
  6. Very cool Autocar, Chuck. I dig it.
  7. Very cool conversion. The 40 Ford matches well with the Bug. The Cragars are perfect. Cool look. Reminds me of a fibreglass 1:1 kit available back in the day.
  8. Good looking project. Interesting roof treatment. What is PET tape?
  9. Can't help, but that Dart is COOL!
  10. Very well done. It's cool to see this off-the-wall stuff. Nice detailing, and nice work getting the Beaumont specific details right. All round great looking wagon. Did those headlight lenses come with the Chevelle kit?
  11. Thanks Ken. I have used these before and they look good, though the font is a little off. No biggie really, though I would like to be able to get rid of the Bluenose (the sailing schooner in the center of the NS plate, for those not from the area) for vintage plates. I used one on a mid-70s period build, but when I look at it, I find it dates the car incorrectly. It doesn't help that I made it a personalised plate, which is incorrect for period anyway. I haven't tried to download and modify the image, but I might give that a go sometime. They benefit from adding registration stickers, which I added by colouring in the space with a marker and scribbling some illegible characters with a very fine (0.05) black marker.
  12. Very cool stuff, Bob. These builds all look great, but together they make a fantastic collection. Real nostalgia. Nice work piecing together these oldies. They are lovely to see, thanks for posting.
  13. It doesn't matter what you are building, Randy, it is always a pleasure and an education to watch. Stellar work going on here.
  14. Brilliant work as usual, Charles. I really like checking out your WIPs. Always a delight.
  15. Cheers Andrew, but I think I am being credited for a comment made by someone else.
  16. Despite the issues, it is a nice looking Land Rover.
  17. The '57 is looking good in red, Bob. Nice work.
  18. That fuse box is crazy trick. I am sure this is the first time I've seen scale fuses in a build.
  19. Looking good. Nice work on the gauges.
  20. Great work, and I appreciate the history and Lotus minutia as well.
  21. Welcome aboard, Andy. Enjoy the forum.
  22. Looks good, Steve. Dealing with small individual letters would be super tricky. Good result.
  23. Seriously good looking Ford, Bill. Great detailing looks factory. Everything about this build looks 'right'. Love it! I missed your WIP but will check it out. I have a '73 F-350 project coming up (some day) so I'll be looking for detailing tips.
  24. Welcome to the forum, William. Nice looking T/A.
