  1. Wow. It even has the vacuum tree on the intake plenum. Amazing!
  2. 83 Corvette?
  3. The MPC 74 Barracuda has been reissued several times and the grille is the same. Taillights too I would imagine.
  4. I did exactly that. I had a 79 Pace Car Replica with a really tired 4-cylinder Turbo and 4-speed. It received a 92 GT drivetrain with a T-5. It was a lot of fun to drive. The swap was surprisingly simple.
  5. This was behind the restaurant at the Fullerton airport where we had our Mercury Cougar Club meeting
  6. Which is closer to this?
  7. I always thought the front of the Chrysler Turbine Car looked like the back end of a 61-63 Thunderbird.
  8. In front of the store next to Burbank's House of Hobbies (Just noticed the Aston across the street):
  9. Dodge Charger Police car Tamiya Datsun 240Z Revell "snap" Aston Martin DB5 MPC Dodge Warlock pickup
  10. A few days ago in the San Fernando Valley: A McLaren of some sort caught in traffic on 405 and a couple of Cadillac Lyriqs.
  11. Any other pictures of that 64 Comet Villager?
  12. There's some similarity there to the 62 full-size Buicks, and there were some GM styling proposals in the early 60s that had a similar appearance to that Thunderbird proposal.
  13. How about above the road? Yesterday, while driving back from Lake Havasu, there were three of the really big military helicopters flying about 100 feet above the road. like this: Also the stratolaunch aircraft was sitting outside its hangar at Mojave airport
  14. Lake Havasu City: 63 Corvair convertible, early 50s GMC tractor on a trailer, like this one:
  15. In the early 80s I had a 73 Pinto wagon with a 2.0. After it broke a connecting rod, I put in a rebuilt 2.3 from a 74. Not a super easy swap. Many changes were made to the front of Pintos in 74 to accept the physically larger 2.3 and to reconcile with the changes made to the structure for the Mustang II. I had to bolt in new engine mounts and put in an electric fan on the front of the radiator, among other changes. The car drove well with the larger engine. The extra torque of the 2.3 made a lot of difference. The car was white, with a brown interior and had US slot mags with fat tires. We also had a 72 Montego wagon at the time in the same color combination.
  16. Pretty sure he meant the Edsel wagon taillights that were a custom option in the original kit.
  17. LAPD used Mercury Montegos in 1970.
  18. Even worse are the lights that are low on the sides in a chunk of black plastic and look like an afterthought. This looks like one car got dropped on top of another.
  19. Sequential turn signals are cool on 60s Thunderbirds and Cougars.
  20. Years ago I had a 79 Indy Pace Car Replica with a tired 2.3 Turbo engine and 4-speed. I replaced it with the drivetrain from a 1992 Mustang LX 5.0.
  21. The 4-speed car had standard seats, while the 5-speed car had the Recaro-ish "sport" seats.
