  1. How can you blame Moebius for issues with paint?? I agree the instructions are a bit confusing but out of the many Lonestars I've seen built so far, your the first person to be this upset. This is Moebius' first truck kit EVER. Give them some slack. How about the fact that are taking the chance that these kits will even sell and yet they are already offering BRAND NEW subjects! It's a model kit. Tell me that there's another model truck kit out there that every piece just "falls into place"!? I have them all, there are none! I appluad Moebius for their every effort and will continue to do so simply for the fact that they care about us model truck builders and even listen to what we have to say.
  2. Rob is a great guy, he won't burn you. I do know he gets very busy with orders being a one man operation. Try sending him a message through Ebay. Your emails might be going to his spam folder. His seller name on Ebay is RBMOTION as well.
  3. Start collecting various sizes of small solid wire. Most injector lines on real truck engines are about 3/8" to 1/2" in diameter so your going to want to find a small size to depict that in scale. You want the wire to be stiff but not like a paper clip. This way you can bend it into tight bends and it will hold it's shape. For "T" fittings you can either fabricate them from a tiny block of plastic or you can place a drop of epoxy where the lines intersect and after the epoxy cures you can file it into shape. The turbo oil feed line is a pressure line that goes to the top, between the two halves of the turbo. This is often a steel braided line. This can be replicated using any small braided line. The drain line from the turbo is a metal pipe with a short rubber connector where it meets the side of the engine block. Also, there are several articles from Ken Smith that show in great detail, how to properly plumb most engines found in model truck kits. There are also some guys out there, such as Kurt McLucas here in this forum that have produced some outstanding scale decals for engines. Things such as oil filter labels, fuel filter, etc. If you would like to see the Cummins I built (in my avatar), you can see the pics in my "Snowman's rig" album on my Fotki site. (first album) http://www.public.fotki.com/lotso
  4. Workhorse bought out GM's P series chassis line, phased it out and started building their own chassis. We are a warranty dealer for them. Most likely that is a Workhorse chassis with a body built by another company.
  5. Can't wait to see this one finished!!!!!!!! Hey, you could make a diorama! All you need is a 1/25 football player that is kicking a football. Replace the ball with a box and put a brown uniform on him!
  6. Why do I want this kit so bad and yet when I owned the real thing, I was embarrassed to be seen in it! (My first car) LOL
  7. Has anyone bought a metallic purple one from Autoworld yet? I keep searching their website but I can't find them???
  8. Wow, that really turned out nice!
  9. That's awesome! Hope you gave her a big hug! My son found the HotWheels A Team van for me. He knew I really wanted it and amazingly enough, didn't already have it! We were both pretty happy!
  10. You think that's cool!?? How about the exact same thing but on a motorcycle! I don't know how to post videos here but go to Youtube and search for "jorian stunt" then choose the "drifting" video if this link to it doesn't work.
  11. That half round spare tire recess thru me off! The real 69 trunk pan is not shaped like that. Here's how the real thing looks.
  12. Just paint a moon on the floor and tell everyone it's a mural of the night sky! LOL
  13. I'm going to do the same thing (if I can get one!) but I'm going to try white and silver to see which looks better (on a sprue piece first)
  14. Hey Gregg, I couldn't find it listed on the Autoworld website? Are they just not out yet?
  15. Yep! That's getting to be a popular thing to do it seems. If someone wants to pay 3/4 of what the entire kit costs to get 1/20 of the whole kit, more power to them. Sure seems like a waste to me!
  16. It's always funny to watch two bidders fight each other minutes or even days before auction end! Stupid! Why place a bid early just so someone can go in behind you and either jack up the amount you have to pay or knock you out of the auction to where you have to try and outbid them!? Figure out how much your willing to pay and in the last few seconds, if the price shown is lower than what your willing to pay, then you bid. If you win by being the highest bidder, great, if not just wait the item will come around again.
  17. Also, for the record, that Mean Mudder van was issued many times in several different kits with and without accessories like motorcycles and such but the Mean Mudder version has always been my favorite!
  18. Nope, just went and looked at the new release. It's a direct reissue of the Chevy van from the van and race car hauler trailer kit from several years ago. The Mean Mudder is completely different. It comes with a removable high top roof, hard vinyl tires (same wheels and tires as those found in the Ice Patrol kit, just not chrome) and the van body has slight ground effects.
  19. Very cool! Good to see these kits being built!
  20. Have you actually heard that they are reissuing the Mean Mudder as the Mean Mudder? That would be very cool as I only have one!
  21. I like it when I see kits like the Revell Mean Mudder van kit listed with a starting price of 149.00! Really?! I love that kit but it's not worth that much! Something else that's funny is you'll see a model listed for 100.00 and then scroll down the list to about five listings below it and the exact same kit will be listed for 9.99! The kit you want will most likely show up on Ebay at a decent price, you just have to be patient. What I do when looking for a specific kit is to perform a search with title and description and then save that search and have it sent to my email on a daily basis. That way, when the kit is listed at a decent price I can catch it relatively quick.
  22. You know, it's funny, we both own the real thing and I'm not sure if your correct or not! LOL I'd have to go pop my trunk to be sure but I could swear that the recess for the spare is not rounded like that but rather just a recess between the frame rails that goes straight across. There is the possibility that they molded it wrong though?
