  1. Tom, you have to finish this!!!!!!! Your builds are by far some of the best I have ever seen! To say that it would be a shame if you didn't finish it would be the understatement of the year! You don't want to end up like me do you! LOL
  2. Very nice build on a seldom seen truck!
  3. Harald did an outstanding photo etch set for the White Freightliner cabover kits as well! Really awesome stuff! He may still have these sets for sale. I can email him and ask if anyone is interested in them.
  4. That's why I made sure to buy three sets of these when Harald Weber of Germany had them made. They are a full set of photo etch with pins for dash knobs, templates to postition emblems and even clear "glass and gaskets for the wing windows.
  5. I've always wondered why that Ice Patrol kit is so sought after. I have a couple of them and while they are a cool kit for the subject matter, the truck and snowmobile are not that detailed. The pickup is just a Revell Chevy stepside that has been issued several different ways. The snowmobile is unique to the kit though.
  6. I allllmost traded my 69 for a super clean, garage kept GN but the guy ended up trading it for a Nova. I'd give anything for a GNX!!!!!!!!!
  7. The best race I had with my 69 Camaro was against a 67 Cougar with a blown small block (can't remember the displacement?) The engine I had in my car at the time was nothing special, stock four bolt 350, dual plane intake, Camel Hump heads, Holly 750, full MSD, headers, mild cam. We basically threw the engine together one night with spare parts we had. Trans is a Turbo 350 with a 2800 stall converter. We ran from a dead stop and you could have attached a piece of tape from my front fender to his for the entire run! He never pulled ahead one inch and neither did I!
  8. look on Youtube at all the Buick Grand Nationals with a turbo V6 just tearing up everything in sight! My buddy and I were riding around in his 9 second 66 Chevelle and we had a white Grand National (may have been a T type?) leave us like were in third gear, reverse! For big sedan like that, they're pretty darn impressive!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Wait, wait!!!! Dodge.......Did Our Darn Gears Explode? LOL, LOL, LOL
  10. If you've lost interest in the kit, pack it all up and offer it up for trade in the trade section of the forum for something you would be more interested in building. Just be honest as to the amount of work done and if anything is broken or missing if you offer it for trade.
  11. One trick for detailing a one piece chassis using just paint is to use Silly Putty as a masking agent. You can tuck the Silly Putty down into areas where you don't want a color to be and spray the whole thing. Afterwords the Silly Putty pulls right up.
  12. Keep an eye on Ebay. I have seen many Franklin Mint and Danbury Mint vehicles sell for 1/2 to 1/4 of their original price! Most of the time they are still in "mint" condition as well!
  13. Cool! Just be ready to duck if they're using cannons!
  14. That's the one I want!!!!!!!!!! Actually I'll be getting both. Too cool to pass up! I have an original built up, well some of it anyway. I always thought it was a cool model! I think a coat of flat black on the back side of those parts will take care of The transparency issue.
  15. PFFFFFT!!!! UH HUH!!!!!!!!!!!! There's Christmas trees!!!!!!!!!
  16. That is some really nice work!!!!!! I wish I could weather that well!!!!!!
  17. Those tires are direct copies of the vinyl tires that come in the AMT Snap Fast semi truck kits. There was a Ford CL9000, a Ford LTL9000, Kenworth W900 Aerodyne conventional, a reefer trailer, a van trailer, a Mack Superliner and a Mack Superliner wrecker. All of these kits featured these tires.
  18. Just read on a Chevy truck forum that several guys contacted Chevy about this truck but were not given an answer. They are also saying if you look closely at it, it appears to be a modified ERTL Big Farm Chevy truck. They said the front end looks like it's sculpted with clay and painted over?
  19. I've been analyzing that commercial as well! When you see it again, look at the very bottom of the screen. It says: Toys provided by .....(I think it was Fisher Price but I've never heard of them doing anything realistic looking?) It may be another company but it does say who provided them. Scratch that, just watched it on Youtube. It says "Selected toys provided by Hasbro" and is showing the truck when it says it. The truck appears to be about 1/18?
  20. Wow, very nice!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Lookin great so far! The steel, four hole wheels in the F350 kit will be perfect for this project and will look great if you fix that horrific blob of plastic that is supposed to represent the the drive hub on the rear wheels. Monogram did a good job on those wheels, other than that. I haven't seen anyone correct them yet.
  22. Good to see that it's available. KFS was going to have it in thier lineup but the licensing prevented that.
  23. VERY nice work Jarda!!!!!!!
  24. Wow, very nice job!!!!!!!!!!!! I have that transkit as well. I started building mine but as usual, I started to over detail everything and lost interest. LOL I like that shadowbox dio!
