  1. Here's some pics of my build painted with HOK candy pearl root beer. Pegasus Tri-Blade wheels. Behind the rear tube grille is a full width taillight.
  2. No. Gianorio's in Winfield. In a strip mall on the southwest corner of County Farm Road and Geneva Road (I think). It's been 9 years since I left, but they were in Winfield. Sure is a ton of information offered about changing the forum. I like it the way it is. I don't think you'll ever be able to change it to make everybody happy. I think it's imporant to enhace the categories we have now and not eliminate anything. I usually poke "View New Content" so I don't think the proposed changes would affect me much. I need to get my '62 Catalina (custom), '67 Coronet (street machine), and '65 Riviera (custom) done before everything changes and I won't know where to post them. To the shop!!
  3. I mentioned West Chicago because my neighbor drives up there. Gianorio's pizza in Winfield would be great to go along with some Portillo's beef.
  4. Who said anything about free? If you leave now, you could be here for dinner tomorrow, but I haven't decided what to make yet. From West Chicago, IL to Citrus Springs, FL is a 17 hour drive straight through. (Feel free to bring 5 or 10 pounds of Portillo's Italian beef and several loaves of their bread).
  5. I love the rear wheels on the ProMod. Whose are they?
  6. When will this new format happen? Did anyone think about setting it up and then have beta testers check it out before going to everyone? I used to be pretty good with computers (when DOS was king) but I've lost expertise over the years. I think it would be good to get some computer challenged people to check it out first. And dummy (talking to myself) those werten't recipes yesterday, they were the menu. I changed tonight's menu - we're having pizza casserole, salad (with tomatoes), and french bread. Dinner will be about 6:45pm in case anyone wants to stop by.
  7. has not set their status

  8. Fantastic paint!
  9. Peter, My comment(s) weren't meant to hurt anyone. The vehicle is just too far out there for me. I can appreciate your time in taking all the pics and I can really appreciate the time and efforts the creator put in. Being a Veteran, I can really appreciate the guy donating to the Wounded Warriors Foundation. They area special group of people who I have been associated with in the past and hope to do so in the future. All that being said, I don't have to like a vehicle (in this case I don't) to appreciate the work put into it.
  10. Recipes??? Sorry, I don't know what you mean. For tonights recipe I plan on making chicken fajitas. Maybe some Spanish rice to go along with the chicken in soft shells and out of the bag Tostitoes. Tomorrow night I might make meatloaf but it's supposed to be 92 degrees and I hate to use the oven when it's that hot outside, so maybe I'll do BLT's even though tomatoes are expensive.
  11. Most excellent. Samantha, you need to ask Dad for your own dedicated work area.
  12. Would "view new" still work the same way? I'd like to see Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials and Swap/Trade/Free/Wanted as seperate categories. Thank you to Gregg, Harry, and Pat for providing the best model car forum in existence. For what it's worth, I plan on being around here no matter what changes you make. Three (3) cheers for Gregg, Harry, and Pat.
  13. I like the American and POW/MIA flags the best.
  14. Very cool looking little coupe.
  15. Thanks for the replies Steven & Curt. Never thought of decals because I didn't think they'd stick to tires. I'll check out Shabo & Slixx. Thanks again.
  16. I'm getting sick of the no name black wall tires in kits and was wondering if anyone knows a way to put lettering on the tires.
  17. I'm lazy and use The Detailer washes that I get from Rick at Scale Dreams. He has several colors available and you can mix them together for different colors. In the old days I would thin enamel, paint it on andd wipe the high spots. The Detailer is easier and not as messy.
  18. You certainly have some talented builders over there. Thanks for sharing the pics.
  19. I've drilled out stock disrtributors and epoxied the 30 ga. wires in. I used to use CA but like the epoxy better. Rather than spend all that money on pre-wired distributors, I often make my own from aluminum tubing. I use the insulation from telephone wire - there's 4 wires inside (black, red, green, yellow). From experience, I've discoverdd that the wire from AT&T works the best because it's the right size to accepte the 30 ga. wires.
  20. I've been using epoxy too, but there's so much waste. I have the dispenser that has 2 tubes and 1 plunger. I can't help getting too much at one time. I use acetone to get the extra stuff off my fingers.
  21. Saw the SA issue at the LHS today but decided to pass on an inferior product. Hey Harry - when will the MCM website be updated with a newer magazine cover? January 2010 is long gone already.
  22. My kind of work area, Mark - clean and organized.
  23. One gorgeous model.
  24. I complain about spending $17.00 on a kit. No way I would ever spend $500.00, even if money was no object. I wonder if those bidders would be interested in a bridge I have laying around.
