I complain about spending $17.00 on a kit. No way I would ever spend $500.00, even if money was no object. I wonder if those bidders would be interested in a bridge I have laying around.

I followed Txrat's advise and searched the web for 30 gauge Kynar wire. There's a guy on ebay sell 9 or 10 different colors. I bought 30 feet of each. I used the green the other day on my '67 Coronet Hemi engine. The wire fits through the PE wire looms perfectly. Thanks for the tip Shane. I also have about every color ignition wire sold by Rick over at Scale Dreams too. There is a difference in the colors from ebay and Scale dreams so I've been able to about double the colors I have available.

Charlie, I tried Ambroid on the plexiglass corners and didn't like it. That's why I switched to the clear silicone. I cut the tip off so there's only a small opening that you can draw a fine bead that almost disappears when dry.

Different but I like it. Looks like you did a gold basecoat and then black or very dark brown over that. Cool. Did you use Tamiya masking tape and slice it thinner the get the banner effects on the sides, hood, trunk?

I thought of another type of storage I use - plastic baby food containers. They even have lids.

I've been using nut & bolt organizers for years. They have lots of little drawers that can be sub-divided. My latest storage thing is 2 liter soda pop bottles. Sometimes you can get the plastic tray that holds 8 bottles. I strip off the labels and then cut the bottle down to size I want with a utility knife. If you but the bottles at the tray height, you can stack the trays.

I have a collection of Testor's bottle paints in various shades of tans and browns. Ibrush a coat of flat tan and let it dry. Then I'll open 2 or 3 bottles of wood, dark brown, and cream and get out a fine brush. I kinda sorta make lines and a dipple (knot) here and there andd blend the colors together. Yeah, I know, not the greatest directions. Just get some tans & browns and play on some scrap pieces.

Roger, I've made display cases with some scrap wood for the base and plexiglass I bought from Home Depot. used clear silicone to glue the corners and top. I buy the plexiglass in larger sheets and cut it to what I need. Comes out cheaper.

Wasn't the Cyclone a fast little truck but one that couldn't haul anything in the box? Kind of a useless truck, no?

Thank you guys. Appreciate the positive feedback. I think the coupe will look good in a street diorama - all I have to do is build one like Sam's.

I'm loving the airbrush. It's so much better thna the rattle cans. I need to order more paint from TCP Global.

Thanks Ron. I have a couple more of the Revell coupes to build. I've learned from this one and will make some changes/improvemnets on the next one.

Roger - how's this idea? Pack your dusty models in a box and send them to me. I'll clean them but you probably won't get them back. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

I like it! What did you thin the nail polish with?

I keep my really good build in a Carney Plastics case that holds about 27 kits. I have a couple in homemade plastic display cases. Others are kept in an entertainment center behind glass doors, and others are in a plastic encased diorama. The easiest way for me to clean to to get out a soft rag and a can of Pledge furniture polish. I like the lemon scented stuff. One by one pull them out and clean/polish each of them.

Nice and clean looking. Love the paint.

I posted in progress pics and here's the completed build - HOK candy red pearl over a gold basecoat; polished aluminum exhaust; painted wheel spokes to resemble magnezium; used the Ford engine option with parts box air filter; liberal amounts of Detailer red wash on the grille, valve covers, and air filter; black chrome BMF on the running boards.

Probably won't be the answer you're looking for Jason, but that fingernail filler smells like hell and dries extremely hard. I tried it on my '62 Catalina. It works but next time I'll apply it near a window with a fan blowing the fumes away from me.
