  1. I use only Plast-i-cote primers - sandable and the heavier filler kinds in grey or white.
  2. Get Donn Yost's painting DVD and your problem will disappear.
  3. I like shiny paint but your Stude looks excellent.
  4. Gorgeous build. I'm going to remeber it just in case Harry posts it in "Real or Model" some day.
  5. Looks very good. Too bad you bought a whole kit. I have several Fiat bodies in the shop.
  6. Saw the first pic and thought "No way is this a model". The 1:1 is real nice and so is the kit you built.
  7. Nice job on that EMPI Imp. You can tell it's an Imp by the hood. Check my avatar for the real thing.
  8. Would self stick mailing labels be of any use for cutting whitewalls? The labels come various sizes. Maybe cutting them with a circle template and a very sharp blade?
  9. Nice beater. How did you tone down the window trim chrome?
  10. I like watching Dancing with Stars - lotsa leg.
  11. I got mine and looks great! Sorry, I won't be at the show, but good luck.
  12. That's a good looking Camaro.
  13. I used to paint the chrome trim but find that BMF is easier. you can remove it and do it over if it gets messed up. Try that with paint. I've always used rattle cans but have recently moved over to an airbrush. I build for me and not contests and every kit is a new adventure. Get your pics posted!!
  14. Must have been a good time at what looks like a pretty neat place.
  15. Speakers look terrific, and so does the rolled & pleated interior. Is it Evergreen sheet? Those rear tires are looking good too! What are they from?
  16. Johnny - do you have a website for Mikes decals? I FOUND MIKE'S DECALS - thanks.
  17. I'll go with real this time.
  18. Lookin' godd, Doug - even though I'm an RC Cola person.
  19. Thanks for the ideas guys. I'll try to research collectible auto. Nice looking kit Steve.
  20. I picked up a Campbell Hausfield unit at Lowes several months ago. The tank has a 3 gallon capacity - it's actually 2 tanks stacked on top of each other. Came with regulators, hose, fittings, and a staple/nailer gun. It was about $70.00. Besides modeal cars, it can be used for a variety of other jobs around the house.
  21. Very nice looking build. Those the wheels from a '34 kit?
  22. Got the '62 Catalina kit and love the box art for the frond end with the tube grille, and I'll probably strip the chrome from the bumper to try and make a rolled apn look. But does anyone have any ideas about doing the rear end? My feeble mind is coming up blank. I'd hate to dod custom treatment on the front and leave the rear stock. Sure would appreciate your thoughts.
  23. I checked with an expert (MAD) and he uses 30 gauge wire. Good enough for me, thank you Kris.
  24. George53 - tried a PM but you box is full. Our package arrived from Japan and I need a snail mail address for you.
  25. Yes - wheel choices and how much are the Mickey Thompson's goin go be?
