  1. Everytime I add a reply to a post, I have to click the back button 4 or 5 times to get back to the list of posts. Is there an easier/faster way to get back? Oh, I open the forum and then click on view new posts.
  2. Some of you guys need to go on TV. You're hilarious! I like these posts when nobody is getting beat up. Glad to see you here Nick.
  3. Just amazing Peter. I'm at a loss for words for your creations. Amazing!
  4. Thanks James. One more word of advise - start or continue to work out to get your endurance up. Unless things have changed, you'll be doing a lot of running.

Looks excellent! Are those kit headers or solder, or Evergreen rod?
  6. I've the pics of the stretched Deora and that's where the plan hit me. I like the idea of your reversed wheel stander too! I'll be watching your future posts with interest. I have a buch of slicks in the parts bin, but no Roth kits. Do you need the width & height measurements? Pics? What about wheel size?
  7. My apologies too James. Bear in mind that you're not just joining the Army. You will become a Veteran and therefore, become part of a brotherhood. As we say, "Stand tall, be proud, never forget".
  8. I have a couple of Deoras and have plans to do just the opposite - I want to stretch it out and make a car hauler.
  9. Shane - "conflict" is the wrong word - use "WAR"! And was is hell! Going to boot camp was the first time I was away from home without Mom & Dad. I was scared. We learned real quick to take care of each other to stay alive. The worst part was coming back to the States (we referred to it as The World). People treated us like garbage. They spit on us and called us nasty names. We just did what we were told. I starting working in 1970 and nobody knew I was a Vietnam Veteran until 1982 when I went to the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (The Wall). Thankfully, and I believe it's because us Vietnam Veterans, present military are treated with the respect and honor they deserve. Look at all the positive postings here for James. They won't be scourned and ridiculed when they return from serving their country. There are a ton of books and movies about the Vietnam War. One of the best, in my opinion, was Phil Caputo's "A Rumor of War". His outfit was basecamped almost exactly where I was - but he was there several years before me.
  10. I knew it was real all along - that's why I voted real. I wish I could win the lotto like this.
  11. Does the offer hold even if the kit wasn't purchased from you? If so, I'm willing.
  12. Congratulations James and thank you. About 40 years ago I was a forward observer for a 105mm battery. The gun grunts of the 1st Battalion/13th Marines could pump out rounds all day and night when needed. They were fantastic to work with. Don't know much about the Army - except they Ain't Ready for Marines Yet. Best of luck to you.

Good lookin' 55. I like the Lee Plastics taillights and the diorama is superb.
  14. Isn't that a Plymouth Superbird?
  15. Just got back from a shopping spree - picked a can of Duplcolor Chrome paint, .062 rosin core solder for headers, and a 4 pack of Perfect Pearls. And the rest of the paver bricks just arrived - we're refinishing the inside of the pool and covering the deck with the paver bricks. Also got a call abck from the Census Bureau. Looks like I'll be starting to work for them part time next week.
  16. Don't care for those kind of wheels/tires, but enjoyed the details of your build.
  17. Looking very nice, Steve.
  18. What an excellent idea - and looks extremely nice too!
  19. The kit pic is kinda fuzzy but it looks like you nailed it as a replica of your real car. Nice.
  20. Congratulations Brian. Being retired I don't have to worry about the job scene. Best of luck to you.
  21. I voted real because of the valve stems.
  22. Hey Dave, your pickup is looking mighty good. Keep it going!
  23. Update - Sprectra Chrome wasn't too interested in having me down there for such a small application. I was told though that their Magic Chrome is closer to a polished aluminum rather than chrome. The Spectra Chrome is the real chrome look and is a water based system (heard that before?). The cheapest kit for Spectra Chrome is about $2500.00. Maybe I'll try the DupliColor chrome.
  24. They sell a pint of "Magic Chrome" for $175.00. But does it really work? Maybe I can figure a way to get down there - it's about 1.5 - 2 hours south. I sent an email to Spectra Chrome in an attempt to go down and check them out. If they agree, I'll bring some plain stuff and try to get them chromed. There're other places that offer spray chrome if you do a google.
