  1. Thanks for the pics, Dave, but we now need MORE, MORE, MORE.
  2. Paasche H set (#3 & #5 tips) were priced last week - Dixie Art $59.95 Tower Hobby $54.99 TCP Global $58.94 Chicago Air $55.54 (free shipping) Hobby Lobby $83.99 I'm waiting for a 50% off coupon from Hobby Lobby.
  3. What scale we talking Dave? If it's 1/24 or 1/25 then I'm realy interested.
  4. Pretty neat idea and execution but I doubt it could tow very much. I like the tutorial idea.
  5. Thanks Paul and Sam. Ed - the color is okay but there should be a separation line. I sprayed the whole truck with silver base and then went around the bottom portion and wheelwells with gold base. The plan was to have a fogged affect but came out 1 color. I'm in the learning process of airbrushing. I enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1968 after 7 grade school and high school friends and a cousin had been killed in Vietnam. We graduated high school in 1968 and 2 years later they were dead. I had my 2S Student deferment in my hands when I walked into the recruiters office. I signed up for 2 years - that guaranteed I was going to Vietnam - to avenge the deaths of my friends.
  6. Congratulations Breck. I knew that puppy would place.
  7. You gotta be kiddin' me! Looks like it was a fantastic show. Thanks Gregg, Darryl, John, Jim, and Kelly.
  8. I agree with the freezer way. Never used water - just put the kit into freezer overnight.
  9. You had some serious plastic down there. Enjoyed the pics. Thanks Len.
  10. I use Krystal Klear for all transparent parts - window glass, headlights, taillights, side marker lights. It can also be used on gauges to get the 1:1 clear cover on the gauge face.
  11. Welcome to the forum Goblin. I haven't built a Viper but the 1:1 is a very nice looking car. There's all kinds of help here when you need it. I'm sure somebody will respond about your Viper project. One item though, you're supposed to have your real name on your posts.
  12. Hey Gary, your Willys turned out fantastic. The paint looks great and as I recall that's your first airbrush model. I love the color, the stance, and the wheels. I guess I love the whole thing.
  13. A friend of mine built a Cobra kit car with a 289. Fast little thing. It was painted and striped just like yours. Terrific model.
  14. Still looks impressive. Your rails in the other post looked excellent too!
  15. That's a pretty neat looking camper.
  16. Looks like you could attach a sheet metal box and connect a 4" dryer vent hose to it.
  17. Rat Fink - I use several different holders for painting - wire hangers bent to shape; old prescription bottles, short pieces of 1" pipe, and my favorite - the Tamiya paint stand. I start every kit by cutting all the non-chrome parts off the sprue and sorting by interior, engine, chassis. Then I decide on the body final color so I can start the engine, chasssis, and interior. I drill the engine for ignition wires and than brush paint. While that's drying I'll put a coat of whatever color on the chassis and while that's drying I start the interior. If there's no bodywork to be done, I'll wash and wet sand, prime, wet sand again, and then shoot the color. I have this thing about colors. For instance on the '69 Nova I recently started - the final color will be HOK blue pearl (don't remember the exact color right now). So that tells my mind that the chassis needs to be a light blue with a darker blue used on the engine and suspension. The interior would then be various shades of blue. My exhaust pipes are always Testor's Steel enamel and the mufflers always Testor's Red enamel. Maybe it's just me?
  18. Oh yeah - true flames!! I likey like like.
  19. I complain about the prices of normal, present day kits, so I don't think I'll be bidding on such an expensive kit.
  20. I can't stand it anymore Alex. You've been on this forum for a very short time and I'm already jealous of your paint jobs. I love that blue! Is it more nail polish?
  21. Not too shabby Alex. Love the paint. I have yet to try mixing & shooting nail polish. I'll get there.
  22. Wow Steve. It looks like you just drove it out of the showroom.
  23. Looks good W-409. I like the details in the engine compartment.
  24. I use the cheapest lacquer thinner I can find to clean brushes. The Old Man (Donn Yost) recommends thinning Model master paints with cheap lacquer thinner for airbrushing. It's in his video.
  25. Bryan/Stangman - WELCOME HOME little brother.
