  1. Fine looking build.
  2. prg5609 - will she dust your models for you?
  3. Back in the mid '60s we had quite a street racing program at Ogden & Kostner Avenues that was semi-sanctioned by the City of Chicago. Semi-sanctioned because 2 Chicago squad cars would show up every Saturday night for the races - and they issued no tickets. Cars had to pass tech inspection before a run. There was a guy who had a dark green Dodge. He twisted up the torsion bars and did something to raise the rear end. Would he came off the line, the whole car rose higher in the air. He won quite a few races. I would see the car sometimes when I was walking to school. The guy drove relatively slow and always in 2nd gear occasionally putting in the clutch and goosing the throttle. Obviously the car made an impression on me because I still remember it 45 years later. Here's my version.
  4. Not a problem Chuck. My best friend is a contractor who used to build million dollar plus homes in Illinois. I'm sure he could handle an addition to your house.
  5. We got home from our Rolling Thunder - Floria Chapter 7 meeting and found a box from Carney Plastics had been delivered. The plastic case is 24" x 28 1/2" with 7 clear plastic shelves and a mirror back. It'll hold 24 1/24 models. I filled the first one. This is #2 and I'm already looking for a place to hang #3. Carney Plastics does a very nice job on these display cases. I ordered it Wednesday and it arrived today via FedEx. I ordered straight from Carney because the shipping was cheaper than going through Amazon.
  6. Excellent build.
  7. Beautiful build.
  8. You gotta be kiddin' me with the details. Unreal!! Looks fantastic so far.
  9. Mustang looks real good Harry - even without the front plate. If you need those mirrors painted you want to head out to Maple park. My friend Dennis Reiter (we call him LT) owns Ethics Auto Body. The shop is on Rt 64 across the road from the Sycamore Speedway. It would be a ride for you but worth the trip.
  10. I didn't win either of them if that helps you figure it out.
  11. I can't believe the detail on your engine. Looks awesome!
  12. When you make the body is it real thin like a clear plastic r/c body? I'd think I'd like to try building one.
  13. Good looking Mustang. Doesn't Illinois require a front license plate anymore? I'm trying to find a billet grill like that for my 2010 Frontier.
  14. Extremely cool T bucket. Gorgeous work.
  15. I checked. The latest I have is #148. Sure is nice to be notified that a new issue is available. I guess this calls for a ride to the LHS tomorrow.
  16. Excellent looking build and real nice garage setting.
  17. What's on the cover of #149? How come the website pic hasn't been updated in 5 or 6 months?
  18. Real nice.
  19. Congratulations. When in San Diego I always stop at the recruit depot (boot camp) right next to the airport. Mission Bay used to be a great place. If you go to the Peterson place, take lots of pics to share with us. have a great time!
  20. Thanks for the postive feedback.
  21. Thank you for the postive replies. Fellow Vietnam Veterans - WELCOME HOME! Don't know if any of you are involved with the Veterans community, but if not, you should be. There's new info coming out that could relate to your service in Vietnam - prostate cancer, heart disease, Parkinson's - that are presumptive diseases.
  22. Holy cow!!! There's 8 pages already! Enough talk - let's cut to the chase and get the changes made already. I don't know how to make a website but Marcia does and she can crank a really decent one out in a manner of hours. I'd volunteer her for the MCM Forum website but I might get in trouble. She thinks I'm goofy at 62 years old still playing with model cars. Of course I think she's goofy for playing Face Book games and trying to get more Face Book friends. Time to get tonight's pizza casserole going. Everyone have a fantastic evening and don't forget that "Dancing With Stars" is on tonight and as soon as Marcia goes to bed, I turn on WWE wrastlin (spelled like I pronounce it, not the proper spelling).
  23. The HOK root beer is much different from Testor's 1 coat root beer. The chassis is done with the Testor's stuff. Thanks for the reply beefheart22.
  24. Thanks Foxer.
