  1. Whoeee! That's a great combo you did John. The paint is unreal. Sure would like to know how you did it (hint, hint )
  2. I just love what you do to a kit Marcos. Don't you love the frame in that kit?
  3. I've used model train grass - it's kinda sorta like flocking. Paint the base green and while the paint is still wet, drop the grass on it. Same with the driveway. Model trains asphalt dropped over wet paint. I've used black paint and you can get the asphalt in different colors and grain size. I think the company is Great Plains that makes the texture stuff.
  4. Looking real good, Dave - except the panel lines look so dark. Did you paint them black or something?
  5. Looking good, Shane. Appears you ran a bead of Evergreen around the rear wheel wels after you radiused them? Nice touch. Front frame looks nicely done too.
  6. We rode our bicycles over to St. Mary of Celle Church in Berwyn, IL for Stan Mikita's wedding a long time ago (late 50s or early 60s). Stan's wife lived in Berwyn. We were able to meet Stash, Bobby Hull, Ed Hall, Mike Ditka, Bronco Horvath, Ed Litzinberger, and others. Somewhere I have the old library card with their signatures on it. My old hockey team used to rent Ridgeland Common ice rink in Oak Park, IL for practice/games and when the ice capades were at the Stadium, the Blackhawks would run their practice at Ridgeland Common. We would get to share the ice for a few minutes. Stash and the Golden Jet always made time to talk with us and give us pointers.
  7. Looks terrific Neal. Now all you need to do is add some BP oil to the beaches.
  8. I likey like.
  9. I'm really liking the color. Are you going to put some red pinstripes on it?
  10. Thanks Skip & Andre. The flocking is plain ole Ken's Fuzzi Fur applied over undiluted Elmer's Glue. I run the flocking through a strainer, let it set a few minutes, and then tap it down. The next day I knock all the loose stuff off. I think I should have BMFd the rear floor panel edges before flocking - maybe next time. I'll try and get an outdoor pic tomorrow. I'm almost outta here to go cook burgers & dogs at the local VFW and I have a couple of stops to make on the way over.
  11. Good luck on your move and the job hunting. If I wasn't all the way across the country I'd offer my truck & trailer.
  12. Here's a '69 Corvette I just completed. I used Testor's emerald green with a 2 tone green interior. The kit had big wheels so I downsized to some other kit rally wheels. F/R bumpers were left off and the area filled. I also filled in the normal headlight location - you have to pretend the headlights are hidden behind the Riviera grille. I took the last 2 pics in a work in progress diorama.
  13. Nice job, Jordan. I'm not into fishing but your boat sure looks good. The dualie appears to be coming along very well too!
  14. Excellent looking build - even though the steering wheel is on the wrong side. Never thougth I'd like the look of skirts on a truck, but yours looks very good.
  15. Looks real good. Corvair's were neat looking cars. Too bad Nader's Raider's made them disappear.
  16. Fantastic build - but I wouldn't go near that water.
  17. This looks like an interesting build - and I'll keep looking for updates.

What you did with the boneyard pics and story telling was pretty cool.
  19. Glad to have you here James. This is the best place around for a model car/truck person. I think you'll like it.
  20. Clear as a bell to me - right where I said the wires would go.
  21. Your model and the 1:1 look great.
  22. You can get a chuck for your Dremel at Lowe's. Then there's no need for the different sized mandrels. I believe the Dremel part number is 1409. It goes from about 0 to 1/8".
  23. Welcome Michael. You'll find all kinds of builds and a ton of help from fellow members. I know there's a few folks from Down Under and hopefully they'll chime in with shops in your area. If not, there's always the internet.
  24. Where the lower dimples are - drill 2 holes above each one. The headers would be 1-2-1. Right? Like on a 409.
  25. Bummer, Pat. Sounds more like you need a pump more than a shop vac. Your basement have a sump pump? Please send some rain down here to FLA. It seems to rain all over the state except by me. Good luck getting dried out.
