  1. Wait till you see the incredible feature in the November issue of Model Cars my friends!!!! That's one thing about the print world of today All the Internet gossips, forums, and instant news makes the print version of this hobby sometimes seem so outdated. It's hard to keep a lid on something, especially something as incredible as this kit!!!! And, with the help from so many of you on this feature, it will be one of the best ones yet. Now, if only that hairless wonder from Hawaii would get off his okole.......
  2. I love it, Javier!! Hope all is well with nephew. For the Candy Apple Reds, I have always used the Testors Copper as the base. I like the deepness I get with the Copper. but, I love this gold under the CAR Great job! Maybe tape and spray Alcad on the black "stripe"? Just a thought with Alclad on it, WOW! Or, that new chrome powder from Japan? Or, carbon fiber? Or, just leave as is, gloss black. Okay, I pau
  3. Ask Dirk to autograph it too!!!! Don't ask that hairless wonder in Hawaii, you'll get it five months later..... Thanks, Dan and Bob, for getting a quick reply up
  4. George, there's an email glitch, but I'll write to you from the main email account. I think it's due to the BlackBerry downloading messages first, and it then becomes some kind of "push" thingee I know, all these technical terms.... Great to "see" you again, my friend!
  5. Jim, Marcia had said you were having problems getting to forum What did the techies say happened? It seems to be happening a lot to others, and it doesn't seem to be a forum related issue.
  6. From Brad Leisure in our last issue
  7. Sorry, George. I saw your PM, and wanted to post here too. Yes, having George back is going to be great!!! Ahh, things are looking up!!
  8. It is one of the best shows in the country. One of the top five, for sure It is worth the drive, and flight. And it's well worth the $3,000 plane ticket. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this year. My first time missing it in a long long long time. It is one of the best, and one of my favorite shows to go to. The people there, Wes, Bob, Mike, Wayne, everyone in the ACME club, are some of the best people and modelers in the world. I am going to miss this show. And, I am truly going to miss my friend, Winston Mitchel, who was one of the highlights of the show for me. He passed away earlier this year, and I will miss him dearly. I can't say anything more about this show. GO!!!!!
  9. I guess the fuzz didn't pay attention to the last pic. And I thought you loved me.......
  10. I redid the rear bumper/guard. Sprayed it Alclad Added the photoetched hood straps. And that's about it. I pau for this one. I will build a few more once they are released.
  11. And this one is to show you guys who is at the top of this game!!! Well, it's not me, but it's still US!!!! Thanks to John Oszajca and Darryl Gassaway for making the trip up to the Edelbrock museum in Torrance, California. A big thanks to Vic Edelbrock and Camee Edelbrock for making this all happen!
  12. Okay. For all the Nay Sayers, Nit Pickers, Beer Stealers, Swag Haters, and those who say I don't, can't, won't, doesn't, didn't, wouldn't, etc. etc. etc., finish a model, this one is for you: Well, it's almost done.
  13. Phil, I thought MCM was already your favorite? The car looks stock, which means to me, it's a great job!!! Thanks for the pics, Phil. Great work!
  14. It was probably a "burp" I know, those technical terms, I should put it in plain English It was probably a "burp" No worries Was a database cache error, I think No worries Be Happy... Back to building
  15. My good friend Dirk Joseph is alive and well, and featured in the latest issue of Model Cars Magazine Now, if only that lazy bum in Hawaii would get off his okole and get the mag caught up and up to date, everything would be hunky dory!!!
  16. Do you want me to delete this thread, or ????
  17. Heh, I can read pictures!!!!
  18. Triples!!!! But with all seriousness aside, here are some building notes from today on the Midget 1. Take your time! Test fit everything, twice. 2. Figure out your paint scheme first. It may be better to assemble some parts, like the rear suspension set up, first, and paint them together. 3. Careful with cutting of those tabs at the end of the rear chrome radius rods. I messed up mine by cutting off a necessary end piece. 4. Since the body is so small, it may be better to airbrush the body with lacquer, or decant a spray can like the Tamiya colors. 5. Glue the radiator front and backs together and then paint. 6. The rear end/axle goes in two ways, but only one way is correct. Make sure backing plate lines up correctly, not 180 degrees off (like my first attempt. So, the body is painted, black, but I will strip it again. It is too thick, and I was rushed a bit. I did paint the seat/interior semi-gloss black, but after looking at Drew Hierwarter's pics, I may go to the semi-gloss red instead. I do hope that our good friend Fred Cady will pop out a set of some of his great gold-colored decals for this beaut! Well, that's all for now. I'm beat, and I'm not used to building. I know, what a concept, an editor of a model car magazine that actually builds models, go figure!!!!!! pau for now.
  19. And I'm so cute, too!!!!
  20. Here are the studio shots: New Revell Midget
  21. No way! I think this is one of the best kits made in a long long time The kit has some very delicate parts, and I am impressed with all of it. The tires are rubber, all six! Two for the trailer :-) I am shooting in the studio tonight/tomorrow.
  22. Here are some quick pictures: More later.
  23. Ahhhhhhhh......
  24. I'm glad it's starting to show up.Thanks for all the support, patience, and the way you guys put up with all my "issues."As a side not, surgeon said today that more likely than not will have to do another surgery, #6.What fun, what fun....As you can see by the x-ray, I truly do have a screw loose....
  25. I think they should fire that bum, plain and simple HE is the reason the mag is always behind and late. No excuses. Everyone is tired of waiting for the mag, it's always late, it's always ripped up, and it's always full of nothing but model car stuff....
