  1. It's impossible to offend Rich. He's been in my house, and he still talks to me.....
  2. Thanks, Matthew. I know I should take your advice. It's either your way, or the highway, right???? Sorry, couldn't resist!!!!! I crack myself up sometimes. TO MANY PILLs, I know....
  3. Maybe a dinner/drinks Wed, Thurs, or Friday evening? But, I'll have to watch everyone else drink. Weird not being able to anymore Yes, not being able to. Not not wanting to. Or I quit Or I cut back. I don't like doctors sometimes. They have too many rules.
  4. Don't forget this great show, in the middle of Kansas, Saturday, July 24, 2010. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?app=calendar&module=calendar&cal_id=1&do=showevent&event_id=161

This is it, the BIG ONE! The IPMS National Convention in Phoenix, Arizona. Model Cars Magazine has a great booth there, and will be taking pictures all day! IPMS Convention
  7. At the club meeting on Sunday, I repainted the '49 Merc-Buick. Used the Testors Fire Red, or something like that, straight over the R/C paint. Will work on it when I can sit up more at bench and spend time on it. Pete, one of our club members, suggested putting black in the Buick side trim area, which I will probably try out. Maybe a metallic black? or just gloss black?
  8. Soon! I was hoping to have them ready for the IPMS Nationals in Phoenix, August 3
  9. Yes, it's Aqua Wave Just went outside and checked.
  10. Okay, now there's this one. It's a Modelhaus Custom '49 Merc with the Buick grille. The paint so far is flip-flop R/C paint, and I want to add a color to the car, either above the belt line, or only in the Buick side trim area. Thoughts on this? Mahalo nui loa
  11. Here's the Cadi repainted with the Lilac nail polish on top, and the Testor's purple on the bottom.
  12. Thank you, Miguel! I always look forward to Puerto Rico, each and every year for the past, what, five years?
  13. OUCH! I was going to send you an email this weekend to see how the plans were coming for the show. I am going to miss you guys this years. Sad Hawaiian.....
  14. I don't know why some profiles are showing Full Name and others nada Strange this system....
  15. I will check that. The problem I think I had before was that it was not retroactive. I could add the field, but it would not affect, or require those registered before, to have that field filled in. Now, with 6,000 plus members, it would almost impossible to go backwards and have the fields changed. I tried something once, and it shut the board down, me included!!!
  16. I don't know where to begin on this topic. When you sign up for this forum, you agree to abide by the rules of the forum. And I quote: Board Rules and Guidelines Hello, Welcome to Model Cars Magazine forums, the newest (and best!) online forum about our favorite hobby. Thank you for stopping by and we strive to create a safe and fun atmosphere for everyone. If you want to join up, then click on the “Registration” in the upper right of the page and complete the online form. If you choose to use a “handle” or user name that is not your proper name, then please put your full name in the signature box found in the Profile section when you register on this board. To help us weed out the spammers, please put or mention Model Cars either in the interests or hobbies section. After you click on the “submit” button an email will be sent to one of the moderators who will activate your account. NOTE: If you do not want to look like a spammer, you will complete the hobbies and other special interest section to make it easy to tell the real hobbyist from the “fly by night” scum of the earth trying to destroy all that is good in this world. To receive Instant Messages or PM's, make sure your browser is set to accept Pop Up windows. You can do this when you access the forum, or on some systems, you can tell the Pop Up Blocker to allow Pop Ups from the forum (http://www.modelcarsmag.com). Once your account has been activated you can log in to the forum and start posting. Please remember to follow these basic Forum rules: 1) No vulgar language. This board was created for modelers of all ages and offensive language is completely unacceptable. 2) Demeaning comments will not be tolerated. We believe that encouraging and/or constructive criticism can help, but putting a person down does not accomplish anything for the community. 3) If you choose to use a handle or user name that is not your proper name, then please put your full name in the signature box found in the Profile section of your account under Profile. 4) Please note this is an open forum and it is monitored. We do not allow any illegal activity. Any posting of illegally copyrighted material will mean immediate dismissal and banning from the board. 5) Links to other web sites and forums are okay if they are within the topic being discussed. Links to offensive material will be removed and the poster banned! 6) If you have any problems logging in or registering, please email Gregg at gregg@modelcarsmag.com Welcome aboard and have a great time! ******************************************** Now, if you did not want to put your name in your screen/log in name, and refuse to put your name in your signature, then you have violated the basic rule of the forum. I understand the paranoia that some may have on putting their real name on a post on the Internet that is seen by tens of thousands of people every month. I too would be paranoid. That's why my name, addresses, and phone numbers are posted everywhere on the forum site, the web site, and every site I visit or take part in. This is 2010. Anyone with a computer access, even at the public library, can find out anything about anyone they want to. Participating in this forum, under the rules and guidelines stated above, may or may not increase your visibility to someone looking for you. It's like my core belief: If you don't do nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear (except fear itself... some other great public person said that I think). Like those arguing against the traffic cameras, red light cameras, etc., if you don't speed, run red lights, or do something illegal, you have nothing to fear (see quote above). If you don't want to put your name in your log in/screen name, or your profile, please respect the rules of this forum and rescind your membership, and privileges to the forum. We will delete your account for you, at no charge (donations are still gladly accepted). We are starting to ban, and delete, accounts and members. I'm sorry, no more Mr. Nice Guy. The island way of living has been stepped on too much. Okay, I pau... I can see and track each and every IP that is used here.
  17. Dan You guys going to have a meeting around the time of the show? Would be great to get together again
  18. Tim, thanks for the link Very good info there! I liked Steve's explanation also. I am glad I read it I will add that into the next phase of the project. I can use all the help I can get, as many of the members and readers will agree with.
  19. Which one Or if you have link, paste it and I will delete it
  20. I was actually thinking of making her like this real one John Oszajca and I saw at SEMA the last year or so ago. It was incredible! It won an award there, but I know, that don't mean much (just depends on how much throw into the sponsor soup bowl) Maybe I can get Bob Dudek to whip up some of his incredible rims for this beast, some blowers, and who know what else... On the site: http://www.TDRCatalog.com it retails for $248, plus shipping of course. Make sure you get a lot of good high quality sanding blocks. I will post pics of the ones I am using. I did a review of their products in the last issue or so ago.
  21. Guys, this is the first post of what I hope will be an incredible build. I received the TDR Innovations 1/12 scale Mustang Miss "E" the other day, and all I can say is WOW! I will be posting pictures along the way, but I wanted to start this thread so I have a reference in the print magazine to point to. Stay tuned!
  22. How come you guys get these kits first???? hehehehehehe
  23. http://www.ipmsusa2010.org/index.html August 4-7, 2010 (Wednesday - Saturday) Roll Call: Who is going? Who can help man the booth? Who is bringing the beer?
  24. The problem with creating new categories and/or arranging others is that there will be some data loss. No matter how careful I am, or what I do to back everything up, according to the law and bible of Mr. Murphy, It Will Go Wrong. So, I am taking everything into consideration, and will see what steps I can do to mitigate any damages that may, I mean, will occur.
