  1. Hmmm... Floyd or Spielberg... Can't really decide... :? You're braver than I am... I prefer not to post pics of myself... Scares the little kids! Funny thing is... I pictured you as a well worn, well padded truck driver type!
  2. Sweet and simple... I like 'em that way! Excellent build!
  3. Very nice for your first hot rod! Excellent weathering on the body and great frame work. The Nissan engine is very unique. Can't say you'd ever see that here in the U.S. (too many "Traditionalist"!) but it makes quite a statement in your build!
  4. Thats a real beauty... But I expect no less from you! Excellent color and stance.
  5. Very clean and understated... Excellent build!
  6. Regardless of whether 69 or 70 (I personally like 70) was the peak of styling, this is a very well done re-style. The front end and hood are very nice and the c pillar is perfect. One thing that strikes me, after seeing a number of re-styles at GSL, is the rounded rear panel. The roundness just doesn't seem to fit the flow of the body lines, as that era had fairly flat panels. I'm not an auto stylist nor mustang expert, either... just an innocent bystander 8) Nice work!
  7. Dignity... A shoulder to lean on... Decorum... Making everyone feel loved... Great weekend, guys... I can't remember when I've laughed so much!
  8. Very Kool! You've done a great job weathering it. Here's one a buddy of mine built to replicate a local 1:1 rod, but he kept it clean... I like yours more!
  9. Thanks. Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland.
  10. Mine are kind of crappy, since the room lighting and my camera didn't get along! Enjoy... http://public.fotki.com/ModelCarGuy2003/mo...shows/gsl-2007/
  11. Sweet and Simple, I like it! Welcome to the board!
  12. Lyle, Thanks for the compliments. I was going to send Norm a link to my pics, but figured he's on his way to GSL right now. Feel free to print and pass them on, though. Norm should be made aware that his parts make us better modelers! BTW, The blower is absolutely one of the nicest resin parts I've ever seen, beautifully designed and easily built.
  13. Check PSF Hobbies... I think they may have one. http://www.psfhobbies.com/
  14. Alas, Gregg has the only paint code FM3 shirt known to exist... Otherwise I'd be wearin' one, too! I hope to meet all the MCM'rs in Salt Lake this weekend. If I don't find you, look me up and introduce yourself!
  15. You mean I finished mine first? I thought yours was done! As I said elsewhere, I give you credit for inspiring this build.

    37 Ford Sedan

Neat model! The rear shot has a Chrysler Airflow look to it, if Ford had built one!
  17. Nice work... Man, you pump 'em out like clockwork! What are the differences between R and L?
  18. Beautiful build, It makes quite an impression! Excellent color choice, gold seems to be an uncommon color in model building. Welcome to the forum!
  19. Now, Thats got some attitude! Nice build for a "Recovered Newbie"!
  20. Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland... I modified mine to shorten them.
  21. Yay... This ones been on the bench for 5 months and has taken me to my personal best on detail. Its no Show Winner, but I'm extremely happy with it! 8) Its my take on a "Driver" hot rod, with all the dings, dirt and grime to go with it. ITS NOT A RAT ROD! (Sorry, I just get tired of that term!) 32 Ford/40 Willys Origonal issue double kit... I used the body, interior, frame and rear end. The frame was lengthened, strengthened and suicided. The body is untouched except for removing the pins that located the showcar fenders. Revell's 32 supplied the grill and shell, radiator, headlights and front axle setup. The grill, shell and rad are chopped to match the body height. Paint is Rustoleum Key lime, weathered with grungy green powder. The frame, interior, top, white walls and engine block are Testors Wimbledon White, weathered with powders, also. Yes, I just broke the windshield wiper! Wheels and tires are Modelhaus. The decals came from the Retro Hobbys trikes re-issue Mailbox Chopper. Revell plate decal and my casting of an origonal club plaque. 61 Plymouth taillights (Thanks to Stan Pinnick!) The weathering on the body shows a little in this pic. Its not as subtle as this pic shows, but still very restrained. Heres where all my brain cells and eyesight ended up going! AMT 49 Merc block and heads... Replicas and Miniatures S.C.O.T. blower w/ pulleys and belts, headers (modified), fuel/oil assembly... Parts by Parks beehive... Arrowhead distributor (modified)... Solder, brass tube and craft wire for the radiator hoses... Brake lines and fittings... Origonal kit carbs and aluminum tube stacks... Parts box alternator. The Radiator was modified for a second inlet and to raise the cap. I'm sure you guys can find many mechanical errors in my build, but I'm still pretty happy with it! I'm a Mechanical Moron, just trying to build what I think looks right. Just a little wear and tear on the chassis... Scrapes, grime and patches! Enjoy the pics, I hope you like it! Comments always welcome! Next stop... GSL! Heres my build up photo album, with WAY TOO MANY pics... I need to sort these out. http://public.fotki.com/ModelCarGuy2003/bu...-vicky-hot-rod/
  22. My experience is with Testors Lexan paints, But I'll make the assumption that they have similiar qualities... Testors will craze styrene badly, unless you use an automotive quality primer. On the plus side, lexan paints go on thinner, so less detail is abscured. I would guess that Tamiya is a "hotter" paint, though, since that seems to be true of their other paint products. Best advice... Test all your primer/paint combos on the kit plastic!
  23. Classic "Chopper" lines on that! The paint job just glows, I'd love to see outside, daylight pics.
  24. Yikes... Thats BadNasty!!! The stretched wheelwells look just right!
