  1. Great build so far! Neat trick on the brake roters!
  2. Yahoo... I finally got my issue! Only 2 wks after Mike got his... I hate my USPS service! :? Yep, Eye Candy Galore! I even have a couple pics... I don't remember having Gregg photo my 29 p/u in Atlanta though!
  3. It came out very nice! Excellent color choice for a tuner. I see you didn't try the CF decals again... Maybe next project. I'm still learning after 20 yrs back into model building...
  4. I don't research much, but I'm aware of how the blocks mount. This build has more to do with the donor block and kit frame engine mount positions. I was trying to find that happy halfway point between the two of them. 8) But you're still my favorite Magazine Mogul!
  5. You guys remember this one... Right? I know its been a while since I've updated on it. Nothing much has changed on the body/paint... As I've been putting the effort into wiring the engine. I don't usually detail engines this much so its proving to be a real effort for me. I'm pretty happy with it so far! You wouldn't believe how hard it was to get the wire retainer clip mounted around the fuel bowl!!! :? The other side... Of all things, I'm pretty stoked about the rubber collars on the water inlet pipes. Brass tube cut to fit, painted flat black and craft wire pipe clamps, I think they are pretty believable. The radiator inlets are the same, but the engine compartment is so tight, I'm working overtime to make it all fit. The frame and oil pan have a few scrape marks... Whaddya expect when the car is so low! I layed down BMF before paint and scraped paint off after. I've dirtied up the frame and engine with weathering powders, also. Enjoy... Comments always welcome!
  6. Accurate Miniatures Corvette Grand Sport.
  7. Great build, as usual, for you! 4 days... ... I wish!
  8. That earlier pic fooled me (some would say thats not too hard...)! As I said elsewhere, great build and great pics!
  9. Thanks, You're a big help! Lacquer thinner may work... one part is attached to a resin peice.... the other is the backside of the radiator plastic, so damage wouldn't show. Then again, maybe I'll just force it... and probably have to re-make the parts! :? Thanks for the comps on the truck... I posted it this morning in the finished forum just for youse guys!
  10. I've been planning (for years! :? ) to do a TPI big block in a 70 chevelle. Here's what I'd like to shoot for... www.carsbykris.com
  11. Mmmm... That 572 is nice! Is the full resin kit available from VCG?
  12. I know epoxy joints will pull apart with enough force, but I have some delicate parts that need to be re-aligned, so I like to soften the epoxy somehow. Any suggestions?
  13. Is still one of my all-time favorite builds. Built back in 2003, it was one of those projects that everything just fell together. Narrowed 32 frame, Lil' Coffin rear tires, Corvette GS engine, along with odd parts from several other kits. The metal finish was inspired by primer... when I saw the body primered, I thought it might be cool to see if I could replicate a metal body... Flat black base scuffed up, airbrushed with Alclad Steel and Stainless Steel. Interestingly, the finish looks better now after several years of wear and tear. Some of the Alclad has rubbed off, revealing hints of the black base. The engine was yanked from my completed Corvette Grand Sport... My race car friend Bill has never forgiven me for that! rust holes, weld beads, bent license plate, tail light duct taped on...
  14. I did this with .020 styrene rod. After chopping the top, I left the cut raw and layed down the rod. I soaked the rod with liquid cement and while it was wet, smooshed it around with a broken tip #11 blade.
  15. Very Cool! I've also seen several pics of it on other sites, never fails to impress me!
  16. Very nicely done!
  17. Nice save, great color for a lowrider! Single exhaust option? JK
  18. Thanks! I was trying for the "performance luxury sedan" look. The kit wheels would look good (and appropriate size) on a Conestoga wagon!
  19. Very nice! I see you've been busy...
  20. Very nice detail, the engine looks very good! I expect this project to be a real beauty when finished! Just an observation... With all of the natural finishes on the engine, the kit chrome headers look somewhat un-natural.
  21. Silver paint, a nice paint brush and a steady hand?
  22. Very Classy looking ride! 8)
  23. Thats a beauty, Mike!
  24. Great pics so far... I'm still not finished with your album!
