  2. Neat project! I bet those take a case of yellow paint to finish!
  3. Lookin' Good!
  4. I didn't realize that was a 1/16th... Duh  Here's one I built back around 1990, kitbashed the Revell coupe and Funny car parts...

Welcome to the forum! You can't go wrong introducing yourself with a sweet Merc!
  6. Sweet Build (but I expect no less from you!) I'm sure you'll get it buttoned up for the show next week.
  7. Funny thing is... I don't care for the big rims much, either. But my goal here is to do a mind clearing build, no stress, not much mods, I'm trying to de-bling this as much as possible, though!
  8. Nice build!
  9. She's a Beauty! Very nice touch you have for the chassis weathering!
  10. Simply Sweet and understated! Great looking truck! The half rolled up window is a great touch! What variation of silver is that paint? Almost looks like GM Pewter...
  11. Matt's Hot Rods have a way of inspiring people... Go with the blown motor in the 2nd pic... Its way over the top for a street car, but ain't that what its all about? 8)
  12. Yeah, It is a mysterious, yet classy color. 8) Zoom Zoom (I believe) built one a little closer to stock. Look thru previous post to find his regarding this. I think there was also a kit review on it, posted in the appropriate forum. Its a curbside with upper and lower engine plates, very minimal detail.
  13. Its all Mike and Ajay's fault for posting their Caddy builds! Seriously, I need a break from the 32 I've been working on, so I'm hoping to do a weekend build on this. Paint is Tamiya Mettalic Black, over semigloss black, no primer. The interior will be done in Tamiya Nato Black. The wheels are some off brand chinese manufacturer. They measure out to 26", which with a little axle adjustment makes a nice ride heaight (much better than the ridiculous kit wheels!). Too bad they're a 4 bolt lug pattern!
  14. Isn't Goo Gone harsher than that? I thought it had acetone and such in it? But you make a good point... Any citrus based cleaner would probably work well to remove adhesive residue.
  15. Nice save, great build!
  16. I'm not a race car builder, but that looks pretty "Right On!" 8)
  17. Nice color! Is it different enough from Tamiya Candy Lime gold to make it worthwhile? I ask because a friend did an similiar nail polish airbrush job with a gold pearl clearcoat and it looked exactly like the Tamiya paint! :?
  18. That should be stunning when finished! Nice scratchbuilding/kitbashing work!
  19. Looks good... Nice color. 8)
  20. I won't... I really enjoyed the show a couple years ago, hope to get back again in the next few years. Its a big commitment to make the trip from California! Gregg... I'll volunteer to help you... But you gotta pay my way!
  21. Well... Its about time you introduce yourself... Especially since your Caddy STS-V build made my modelers ADD kick in! You've posted some nice work already, welcome to the forum!
  22. The residue might be due to the age of the BMF... but I've seen it from fresh stuff, too. Carnauba wax, such as "The last detail", will take the residue off.
  23. Nice work. I love when the plastic Ooze from the joint is all the filler you need! Great color scheme also. Will the larger five spoke tires fit the 9 spoke rims? Like Matt said, the larger tires fill out the wheelwells, but like you, I like the 9 spokes... Very classy.
  24. Good point , Gregg... I've seen it a million times. And for some builders, its hard to get the point across that the BMF is as (or more) important than the paint. I've judged quite a few that didn't pass muster for that reason, and the builders just don't want to see it that way! (BTW, I HATE judging!!!) I'm also seeing the same effect with alclad paints... its all about the surface prep... and builders are shooting alclad over marginal surfaces. Just because its shiny doesn't mean it looks good! That said... I'm guilty but trying to get better! Its amazing the detail you can pick up with a digital camera!
  25. Welcome to the MCM forum! Nice work, I've seen some of it elsewhere... but not the Camaro. Thats a really great piece of scratchbuilding and weathering.
