  1. My trick is using a fine craft wire the same way you're describing. The advantage is that craft wire accepts any glue and putty, and doesn't sand down. It helps to cut a shallow channel to lay the wire in, so you can keep it straight.
  2. Very nice work. Your BMF work is exceptionally nice, everything looks smooth and seamless.
  3. not super glue... The trick you're thinking about is to put liquid cement on a mold line so it pops up, then sand it back down. Fender work looks good!
  4. Thanks, Zeb... I did some pic searches a few weeks ago... http://public.fotki.com/ModelCarGuy2003/flathead-engines/ Saw that one and a few others that were really helpful (pic #11!)
  5. Twist67, Nice work... Nice introduction! Welcome to the board. Your Superbird rocks!
  6. Thanks for that link... That really was informative! Looks like Spaz Stix is the overall best chrome. I'll stick to Alclad, also, unless I happen across some SS. I find that any chrome paint relies on the stuation in which its layed down. I've experienced both miserable failure and bright, shining moments with Alclad! $149 for the complete Killer set!?!? No thanks...
  7.   You spend WAY TOO MUCH time alone, don't you, Peterson? Yes, It will be a ripping good model when finished!
  8. Lookin' Good!
  9. Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland resin... Excellent piece of work. http://public.fotki.com/davetoups/aftermar...cas_and_miniat/
  10. Now thats even cooler than the bikes!
  11. Very nice work... Welcome to the forum!
  12. It looks pretty good, after seeing the demo. But... Their Killer Kans are $40! I don't see the chrome spray cans listed, so I wonder if they cost more? You have to ask yourself... Whats the price of a great paint job?
  13. Very nice ol' Skool custom!
  14. Thats pretty nice for an early build! If you come away from a show with a new idea or new friend, it was a good show!
  15. Oooooohhhhh... Thats nice! Yeah, That rear roof treatment is... Ummm... Enthusiastic bodywork!
  16. Lookin' Good
  17. Aren't regular Bugs Unibody? I would think Baja guys aren't shy about cutting and welding! About the pic above... Don't cut the rear off your Ghia like that! Your mockup pics look much better with some rear sheetmetal.
  18. City Styles comes thru again! I don't know what we'd do without you guys! Your giveaways models are always first rate. I look forward to seeing this years treasure.
  19. The Spaz Stix paint looks pretty good. I might have to try it sometime. I've found that you can have durable Alclad over Tamiya, but you have to apply the Alclad as soon as you can get your airbrush cleaned from the basecoat. If the Tamiya hasn't cured, the Alclad seems to bond with it better.
  20. Thats lookin' good!
  21. really crappy pics, the color and graininess is somewhat exagerated. Left intake is base coated blue, right is base coated black. You can tell how the base coat affects the finished color.
  22. I have 2 intake manifolds painted, black and blue basecoats. I'll try to get pics later this evening.
  23. Lookin' Good!
  24. That is a really cool idea! Anybody can build a Baja Bug or truck, right?
  25. No, you should be able to tape it off and shoot it with a rattlecan.
