  1. yeah, Tank #2 looks much better! Its got all those nice curves us guys like looking at.
  2. It looks cool. The color works well on it, even if it did go yellow!
  3. Very Cool!
  4. Works for me! I always thought of a grail as that one special kit (For me, a pristine Uncertain T, at an affordable price )
  5. MonoPed said it... I didn't! Nice looking kit, though. Even a seperate gass filler door, now thats detail. I can't imagine what all those holes in the chassis are for, but I bet it builds up nice. Have fun with it.
  6. Nice work, great engine detail! You nailed it!
  7. Sounds like an excellent idea. Its important to have positive locaters and the ability to mock it up and tear it down. Nice work so far!
  8. Yeah, Jairus, you're right about that! Most of us can get past the shortcomings of this kit. Its just sad to see a great kit with lousy QC. If a beginner builds this kit, they'd probably be dissappointed at the final outcome. So many sink marks, so little time! My hood fitment is good, but the hood is bad... the underhood detail comes thru the top and creates waves on the surface. I guess a lot of filling and sanding would smooth it out, I'm just not going to go that far. This is intended to be a one week wonder build for me (well, maybe 2 weeks :? ) and right now I just want to get 'er done.
  9. Ok, I take it back... Your wheels are worse than mine!
  10. 1 wheel... 5 spokes... 5 sinks! 1 wheel... 1 sink 2 good ones I count about 20 sink marks on the body, several of which didn't show till after first primer. Yeah, not that hard to deal with... but we shouldn't have to! On the plus side, I've used Tamiya putty for the first time and love it! Like all Tamiya products, its pricey, but worth it!
  11. Don't know... Best way I can think of is to sign his Fotki guest book and leave an email address for him to contact you.
  12. Well done!
  13. Cute kids, they do nice work. Pretty soon they'll be raiding your stash for stuff to build (or swap out!) I've been trying to get my 13 y/o daughter to work on a project (her choice and her idea!) this week, but do you know how hard it is to keep a 13 y/o attention! :?
  14. Ismael, you haven't even begun to find all the sink marks! I started mine this week, also. I can't believe how bad the production on this kit is! It should build up nicely, but I hate having to deal with stuff like that.
  15. Check out this guy's Fotki album... http://public.fotki.com/LoFrontier/models/splash/ He does some pretty nice work.
  16. Very cool roll around! I really like your work, even if bugs aren't my thing.
  17. I've been seeing that ad and wondering if you could carve bodies with it? Would be a great way to do resin masters!
  18. What you really should do is grind away the door handles, deeper than the body panel and fill it back in with putty. That way the ghost of the handle won't come up when you paint. For work like this I sometimes use 600 wet/dry sandpaper, usually available at the local hardware store.
  19. Very nice!
  20. Very nice, Indeed! How'd you do the grill?
  21. Sweet Rivi! Like Mr. Obsessive said, you can't go wrong with a Bill Mitchell design.
  22. man, That sucks. This project was coming along nicely, too! Can you strain the paint and continue on? (of course, after cleaning the paint boogers off the model  )
  23. Looks good... Thats a gorgeous color!
  24. Looks like that BMF/paint technique worked well for you! Nice work so far.
  25. Santa also brought this one! A quick peek at the kit impresses me... Looks to be as well done as the 06 Mustang, which I thouroughly enjoyed building. Too bad this one has to go on the waiting list... too many projects, not enough time...
