Dunno about airbrushing it... I'm far from a paint expert. My experience with Testors dullcoat is that it melts the acrylic underneath, but you might experiment with it.

Thats why I like it... that particle board is the crappiest wood product ever made, but it works so well. Your 3rd photo (high front 3/4) with the bright pool of light looks especially nice. Its funny how that p-board suggest some type of natural scale texture

From what I see, your 39 looks pretty cool! Of course, I kinda like chopped 39's... I built this one several years ago...
