  1. Very nice, Bill. Can't go wrong with that color scheme! BTW, Pegasus T's also fit the kit tires... But the Vette wheels have better detail. Good choice.
  2. Mrs. Claus has it on the list for me... lets see if she comes thru! I've been waiting for this kit for a while, and I want it NOW, also! I already know where that guitar is going to be used... Nice review, Bill, sounds like Revell did it right this time!
  3. Looks great! Go with black steelies and chrome spiders...
  4. They're both lookin' real good. I just bought a '74 vega promo and now you start casting something similiar! Your build is giving me ideas, though...
  5. I've been working steadily, just getting little stuff done. Finally have the stance set, as I finished the suicide spring hanger. I started working on engine mounts, but they'll be different than what you see in this pic. Looks like I need to clearance the firewall also! Chopped the Revell 32 grill shell, still need to fit the grill itself. Scratchbuilt deflated airbags... Painted the resin whitewalls with wimbledon white and washed them with a light tan to bring out the lettering detail. The color is kind of exagerated (bad lighting) in this picture, but you get the idea... The spring hanger is finished, I just forgot to take a final pic of it. This is the last rough stage before final finish. Still to do on this part of the frame... headlight mounts and recess the round fillet in the corner of the frame. Hopefully, I'll get all the technical details wrapped up this week, so I can spend next week on paint and assembly. I've got the week after Xmas off and I'd love to wrap this one up in '06.
  6. Great retro color and wheels! Looks great!
  7. Thats a "Slap the forehead, why didn't I think of that!" trick! :? I usually use .010 stryrene, but that leaves the fit problems you mention. Very cool idea!
  8. Aren't Fluffernutters illegal now? Never tried one (west coast boy!) but they sure sound good!
  9. Murphy's law... Paint jobs you don't care about ALWAYS come out flawless!!! :?
  10. Somebody screwed up the pricing! I can still find the previous release for $12-$14 bucks. Maybe they included the "Goodyear" tires and have to pay royalties! :?
  11. Nice!
  12. Thats going to kick butt when you're done!
  13. Well done!
  14. Do a google search for Mike Lavallee and Killer Paint. He's the guy who's credited with the "True fire" technique. I know I've seen a good tutorial on-line, but can't find it again. Yes, True Fire is airbrushed, using a lot of french curve type templates.

    Lola T-70

    Absolutely beautiful build!
  16. Jason, Very nice! I'm not a huge Mopar fan, but that could park in my driveway anytime!
  17. Very well done! BTW, congrats on the box art model!
  18. A definite improvement, those wheels fit very nicely!
  19. But can she build models?
  20. Question about your paint... Is that just your color coat without clear? Are you going to leave it like that? Its got a nice sheen and looks great as-is.
  21. Oh yeah... I've met those two guys that run the joint... Whatisname Jairus and that other guy, Gregg... just normal people like us (well, Jairus is normal...)
  22. Cool... An 8 hp hot rod!
  23. I'm kinda like Bob... slowing down but never quitting. Only bought a couple kits, some resin, some detail stuff. Finished 4 models, but hope to make it 5 by year end. Thats my regular pace for building the last several years. I need to figure out what to thin out from my stash, because I just don't need 'em all anymore. Of course, right after I sell stuff off, I need it! :? All in all, its been a good year... Making models, making friends... P.S. Bob, about those promos...
  24. Nope... Norm is trapped in the past. Email him or call the number shown in the first pic of each category. I usually call because I don't want to send CC info by email. http://public.fotki.com/davetoups/aftermar...y_0104_and.html
