  1. Plan is to flatten the kit grills and lay .030 styrene rod over it. Similiar to this, but with the headlights covered.
  2. Here's the look I'm going for... Tamiya bright orange, Keith Marks 70 Chevelle decals, R/S style grill. Of course, I screwed up the right hood decal and had to order another set, but I'm having him make a custom set with stripes for the roof. I know, Chevy never striped the roof, but I want to be different! The stripes could be shaped a wee bit closer to the body lines, but I'm not going to stress on that. They're not a bad fit for OOB. This build has Murphys law written all over it ! :?
  3. yeah, so many good vultures... Ummm... I mean friends!
  4. Just like everyone said... Double action unit, buy a compressor and moisture trap, practice, practice, practice. I have a Badger Crescendo also, love it. I recently bought an Aztek, not so fond of it. I still do most body color with spray cans. Airbrushing will open new opportunities such as fades, flames and most important, Alclad metal paints. Theres also little things like doing black window trims and such, when you really don't want the volume a can puts out. Touch-ups on body paint become easier also, because you can decant the paint from the can and shoot it thru the airbrush.
  5. Lookin' Good, Beautiful color!
  6. Nice work on the fenders... but now you're going to need wider tires to fill them! I'm not too familiar with Mustang kits... is that all one kit or parts from several different kits?
  7. Ken, Its going to be the color you see on the brake drums, Key Lime. Just don't know yet if its going to be shiny or flat. Peterson, uncurl and dive in! One of the reasons I like hot rods is that its hard to get it wrong (although I don't build too many)! I always feel the same way when I see shiny exotics, race cars, etc... just want to forget I ever thought about building one! Thanks, Guys.
  8. Huh?!?! I don't know why I should explain this, but here goes... Its a hot rod, it is somewhat exaggerated! Had you kept up with any of the pics I've posted previously, you'd know that what I'm doing is just fine! Of course, you may be able to build it better than me, so I suggest you show me your building skills. Please use a spellchecker when you post your results, so I don't have to decipher "Good Old Boy" typing. Thanks for your input.
  9. This is Casey (Spaniel/Sheltie mix)... He's my best bud, except when I'm at the bench. He knows I'm busy and usually goes to find treats and love elsewhere!
  10. Model Master enamels over Tamiya will be ok. I also use Testors Lacquer clear over Tamiya all the time.
  11. Nice work so far. These choppers are good for getting out of the slump, something completely different.
  12. Thats the most extreme chopper I've seen so far! I like...
  13. Got my order from RMCoM and have been mocking up the engine... Whaddya think of this? Makes some kind of statement, doesn't it? Theres still a lot of tweaking to do. The rear carb needs to scoot back... Both carbs need to straighten up... The exhaust needs some heat persausion to clear the body and door swing... The top plate of the carb riser needs to be refined. After all that is taken care of, I'll start on the pulley placements. I'll need to fab a fuel pump (yeah I know now that RMCoM has one, but I'm not going to order one single part) To paraphrase "X Files"... "Trust No One... and pin everything!" I do this so I can mock it up and everything goes back in the same place each time I reassemble it. Plus, past experience reminds me that rubber fan belts are notorious for pulling blowers off the block! Enjoy... Comments always welcome!
  14. Nice build up, so far. Funny how a pink car can still look tough! I've been wanting to build this for some time now... http://www.pantherpink.com/fm3084.htm
  15. Thanks, Lyle. Is the fuel pump scratchbuilt or one of Norms parts?
  16. Good Luck... I'm already too late to have something for GSL!
  17. Thanks guys... off to the stash!
  18. looking for something similiar to this... just a simple mechanical fuel pump. I know I've seen one before... :?

    1955 Ford

Thats a beautiful build! I like your "outdoor" background, it makes your pics so believable!
  20. Craig, let me know if they are Lindsays pics... I ummm... borrowed them from your Fotki for reference and uploaded them to a "Flathead" fotki folder of my own, crediting you for them.
  21. A year on the circuit is what I do also... But I will take older models to new shows that I've never been to before. I mostly attend NNL type events, so it doesn't really matter if they've been in competition before.
  22. Yeah, But can you re-create her, also? Plans for 007... Finish the Camaro and 32 on the bench right now... Do my part on the big 32 NNL West giveaway car... After that, who knows... I'm easily distracted by the next best idea :?
  23. That'll work! Makes me want to start one of those (but I'll resist the urge)
  24. yeah, Its a Cruizer... needs to be about an inch off the ground! Nice lines for a custom!
