  1. Nice model! Kinda off the subject... but I like the photo backdrop! Pretty simple and effective.
  2. Beautiful model, Len... I only hope mine comes out that nice!
  3. Simply Sweet! Very nice build and color choice.
  4. Very nice build, I've enjoyed watching it come together!
  5. Looks great! I love the lean, mean appeal of it.
  6. Craig, your Mad 32 is a real eye catcher! Such a simple idea and a great impact. Can't wait to see more on it!
  7. I had a great time at the NNL Southern Nationals! I thank everybody who welcomed me and made me feel at home, on my first trip to Atlanta. I think I understand what "Southern Hospitality" means, now! Anyway, Here's another 200 pics from the show... http://public.fotki.com/ModelCarGuy2003/mo...hern-nationals/
  8. As I said above, the Handlebars, forks, exhaust and trans are Alclad chrome paint, the rest is kit chrome.
  9. To nitpick even further... Wimbledon White is a Ford color! As Early iron stated, Mag wheels and lowered... not stock, but definitely the way I like 'em!
  10. Nice build so far! its good to see a Willys gasser built a little differently, good choice of graphics.
  11. Just started my next project... a box stock Monogram 59 Vette. I don't think I've built box stock in 15 yrs, but I thought I'd give it a try. Hopefully, this will be next years GSL entry for me (depends on how well I hide my goofs!). This kit has great torque thrust mags and lowering options, so it meets my minimum standard. Along with the opening trunk, seperate side coves and multi piece frame, this is, in my opinion, an excellent candidate for a box stock build. 3 weeks in and all I've accomplished is body paint! (Do you know how hard it is to paint black?!?!) The coves are Wimbledon White, as will be the interior (probably)
  12. Well, Here it is... finished but not complete... I haven't done the wiring and cables. Modelers ADD strikes again and I'm ready to move on to the next project! Its was a pretty straightforward build, only swapping the rims from the aces wild bike, molding the oil tank and curving the bar ahead of the rear fender. Paint is duplicolor MetalSpecks red with Tamiya clear red topcoat. The forks, handlebars, pipes and tranny are done in Alclad chrome. Enjoy... Comments are always welcome.
  13. Ismael, I just realized I answered the wrong question! The yellow mustang has Aoshima wheels... I think they're called Cerberus. Sorry about that... :?
  14. Yep, I'll be there... along with the usual West Coast crew! Just started a project for the 2007 show, as a matter of fact!
  15. Great looking engines! Scratchbuilt, I presume?
  16. Please join us at the NNL West, Feb. 3, 2007, in Santa Clara, Ca. Between the swap meet and NNL display, There's something for everyone! Plus, most of the west coast model community shows up at the event, so there's always the chance of renewing old friendships and making new ones! For more info, please go to www.nnlwest.org
  17. Yeah, It probably turns like a floundering battleship! The Mustang wheels are just Pegasus T's, which fit the Mustang kit tires perfectly. The spokes are painted with Tamiya Light Gun Metal.
  18. Bob, Thanks for the info. My stuff always travels in a case thats easily viewable, its just that some TSA chiefs always want to grab! Bob Downie says they'll have a repair table available, so I'll count on that if I need anything. See ya at the show!
  19. Four of 'em, so far... thats not bad for me! I may finish a few more, but "The Slump" hit and I've been fumbling around since finishing the Dodge Phoenix... My '70 Mustang, built for the NNL West Pro Street/Pro Touring theme... Retro Hobbies Tiki trike... I passed the other three on to my buddies and let them build them, but I get to keep them! http://public.fotki.com/ModelCarGuy2003/retro_hobby_trikes/ My '06 Mustang w/ aftermarket resin parts. Nice kit and fun build, but the resin hood was frustrating. With primer, there's 8 different paints on the body. I spent a lot of time masking! "Two-Timer" , christened with that name because the first resin body was so bad, I had to order another from ModelHaus to finish it. Its a slammer, but this is one of my favorite models now.
  20. Hey, Want to bring me some sand from a Florida beach? :-) I looking forward to meeting a bunch of you guys.... Look for the NNL West T-shirt!
  21. I'm treating myself to a mini-vacation and am going to the NNL in Atlanta in a few weeks, flying in from California. Who can I expect to meet there? Regardless, I'm looking forward to a whole new NNL experience... Different people... different models... different attitude! I haven't flown with models in a carry-on since early last year, I hope it hasn't become any more difficult to get past security! Those guys scare me... wanting to reach in and grab my models! See ya on the 11th!
  22. Our local Ford dealer dressed up thier Mustangs today... There was also a Black Cat, Red Devil and White Ghost. Happy Halloween to all, and be safe out there with your kids!
  23. Of Course, Count me in! I'll even put aside a special table at the NNL West for the choppers, if we think there will be enough on display.
  24. Work and life have been keeping me away from building, so I try to get a little in here and there. I started one of the new Revell choppers as a quick simple project (There's an Oxymoron!) and here's the results so far... Duplicolor Red Metalspecks with Tamiya clear red top coat and testors lacquer clear. I used the long tank with the short tank graphics (kinda worked well) and the wheels from the Aces Wild chopper. The rest of the build will be pretty straightforward, just need to do some wiring and cabling. The forks/handlebars are Alclad chrome, as will be the trans parts and exhaust. The only real mod made so far was the bar under the seat, ahead of the rear fender. I cut out the origonal and put in a curved bar to clear the fender, so I could be sure of getting paint in there. All in all, these kits are pretty cool, although I'm dissappointed in the seams that need to be cleaned up. I think they're kinda rough for a new mold, but oh well, nuthin' we can't overcome, huh? Of course, nothing's easy! I wasn't paying attention and put the fender decal on backwards, so I had to trim a painted, decaled part. I masked off the top side and did a quick paint coverup on the cut and then found out I had to trim the fork mounting tab also.
  25. A friend used a pinch of steel wool on a cotton swab to turn a pattern in BMF. You only need a couple light spins to leave a pattern.
