  1. I have not built a contemporary model in quite a while. I like these cars, but the kit needs a little work, but I think I am up to the task. I've addressed the sink marks, and lined everything up. It seems that AMT engraved a few too many moulding lines around the windshield, so I have to eliminate them before I prime the car. I am hoping the weather warms up, so that I can lay down some primer.
  2. Dan,You are so welcome. You know I love those Mopars you are doing. I'm gonna blow your socks off when you see my next one. It's going to be totally unexpected, as I surprised myself when I went to work on it.
  3. Dan, Can I make a suggestion? Trim the Bare Matal Foil closer to the scripts so that the seams do not show up in your paint work. When I did the Imperial convertible conversion, I used Duplicolor Gray Sandable Primer, which sealed out the Dark Blue Plastic that my promo was moulded in, without a lot of buildup, as those emblems are quite delicate. Test the paint on the bottom of the interior tub before you do the body, so that you can see the color you end up with. This one started as a beat up, cracked up promo with busted windshield pillars. I have a '68 Turbine Bronze/Black Crown Coupe that is slated for restoration, to bookend with the convertible. The Charcoal Gray Color you are going to do is going to be stellar.
  4. And Dan, We could take a ride together in mine until yours is done.
  5. I cannot make the 'East this year, but I am quite sure that this one will be well received. Georgeous!!!!
  6. Looks good to me!!!!!
  7. Until I get my grubby little hands on one of these, I am going to take these on line reviews of the new kits with a grain of salt. Normally, I am able to get a kit within the first week of release. The exception to this rule is the "Tim Boyd" review.
  8. I just found a '66 Cadillac I built about 15-20 years ago. The front suspension is missing, and I am not too particularly proud of the exterior paint on it. I am going to strip it, and do a color change. If I can find another set of '65 Riviera wires, I may do it as a companion to the '67 I built earlier this year. Your's is looking pretty good so far. I have a '67 Convertible in the queue, which is going to be Black on Black.
  9. You did very well on those two. I have the same ones in my stash, waiting to be done.
  10. Black, then White, Red, Blue, Green.
  11. Nice!!!!
  12. Beautiful, but I am not surprised. I love your work.
  13. As far as I know, there are no kit sources for those caps. I have a set for my 1968 Road Runner from Auto Atomix, which has since gone out of business. They were turned aluminum, which were great looking, and very accurate. I plan to scribe the "Frog Legs" emblem with an x-act-o knife, like what I did on the wheel covers on my '68 Barracuda Formula S project, which by the way, is being rethought after seeing your exquisite project. They also did the round side marker lights, that were unique to the '68 Mopar. I wish that they were still in business, as thay had some nice products.
  14. My dad had a '72 and a '74 Mark IV, while my uncle had a '72. I would love to have one of those to convert into my Dad's '74, which I drove to the prom.
  15. Al, That is so sweet. I have a thing for 1960 cars, especially big convertibles. I have a Merc, a Connie, T-Bird, and an Edsel to restore to a new glory. I would love to get my hands on a '60 Olds 98, Dodge Matador, and a Plymouth Fury, and my collection will be complete. I love your work.
  16. In the one-to-one world, glass, other than the front doors and windshield was optional on all the manufacturer's cargo vans. In our area, most customers preferred them without any glass for security reasons. A lot of the vans I sold were that way.
  17. I made this one from the AMT '69 Ford XL Hardtop, so the conversion you want to do is possible.
  18. You did very well on that one. I have the original kit myself. I plan to do mine as a Beauville Sport Van with the seats and additional body side mouldings. I also like the fact that the hood opens too.
  19. I like that one, and I did one from MCW a few years ago.
  20. Lookin' Good!!!!
  21. Nice!!!!!
  22. That is scary cool!!!!
