  1. I just picked up an "Iron Horse" Mustang kit today. Seeing your build on line and in person is definitely an inspiration.
  2. I like that one! It's going to make me get back to my Cyclone!
  3. I really appreciate the offer. Believe or not, I have everything I need to do a decent build of a '70 Road Runner . The resin parts were not too bad, and I was able to polish everything out to look like styrene. The body kit I got had the grille, hood, and front bumper, and I had the air grabber unit from an old build in my parts box.
  4. Bill, you are absolutely right concerning JoHan vs AMT with that grille issue. I have an unbuilt JoHan '69 GTX. The only thing keeping me from building it, is that the body is awful brittle. I took it out of the box, and pieces were broken off of the front end, Frankly, what I really want to do is to cast the body and other parts associated with it, and combine it with the AMT engine, chassis, and interior. Of course if I do this, a new kit will be offered.
  5. Several years ago, I bought one of those bodies, and I am very pleased. I scrapped an old built-up JoHan Superbird, and I have some Keith Marks Decals. Combined, I should get a decent model out of it. Since I bought this set-up, I decided not to build my Revell '70, and sold it off.
  6. I finally got my hands on something I have wanted for a long time. It is unbuilt and pretty much complete except for the instructions, which I found and copied on the Drastic Plastics Model Club website. I thank them for this photo, and the instructions. The rear window has a small corner broken off, and the body has a little warp in it, which can be attended to. And best of all, the price did not break the bank. I would rather have the Mach 1 version of the car, as my good friend Rex Turner had the one he is building on display at our meeting. Looking at his, I may convert this one to one of the various versions of the Mach 1. I have a set of Appliance "Apache" wheels in the parts stash, and I can modify the sail panels. The project will be a little while down the road, as I may upgrade the chassis and running gear, using the latest tool '67 Mustang GT. Rex did that on his Mach 1, and it looks pretty good. I got a couple other things today, but this made my day.
  7. Paul, I love your work, even though I cannot afford one. I am a builder first, and I enjoy what I do. I wanted to be able to at least have the opportunity to get a couple of the products you were going to offer, but I came to a conclusion a while back when you stated how you are going to sell the kits through Ebay on an auction basis. While that is great for you, it will be terrible for me, as I have very limited funds, and I cannot afford to bid against those with deep pockets, so I cannot be bothered with that proposition, unless I get lucky. Personally, I tend not to do business with certain resin casters, as I am surrounded by a couple of the best casters in the business in Replicas and Miniatures Co. of MD, and Historic Racing Miniatures, and I have a terrific relationship with them. I have some of their pieces, and I can say that I have not seen better. Period! Yes, I have bought some terrible pieces in the past, as they were the only game in town, but like you, I have the skill, time, and materials to correct them if I choose. Because of your earlier posts exposing some of the practice of re-popping the hard work of others, I made a decision to take a look at some of their wares. The person who was re-casting the MCRC El Camino comes to mind. I took a look at what he has to offer, and I can say with no question that I will not buy any of his kits at any price, as I feel that I can do a better rendition with a similar kit (s), some sheet plastic and rod, putty, glue and sandpaper. Besides, I have more kits than I will ever build. If I want one bad enough, I will go to the original source. Over the years, I have bought several kits and replacement parts from The Modelhaus, and I will sorely miss them. I wish that someone can continue the business with their blessing, but as of now, that has not happened. Is this reply a smear on you? NO!!!! You have to make the decision that is best for you. You have a reputation to maintain, and you do not owe anyone an explanation as to why you do things the way you do. The trolls out there do not affect my movements, and you should not let them affect your business. I enjoy looking at your work here on this board, and your built-ups on EBAY. Some of them has been inspirational to me on a couple of my builds, and acquisitions for future builds. If I were able to get some of your castings at a price that I could afford, I would be dancing in the street. I love the subject matter, especially a couple of the wagons. But now it is looking like I am not going to be able to acquire any. I am going to have to craft my own if I want one bad enough. I wish you well, and I consider you a friend. The trolls out there do not affect my movements, and you should not let them affect your business.
  8. Originally, I was not going to do another "Red" car, because I was planning to do a '66 Cadillac DeVille Convertible in red, but what can I say? This car is stunning, and besides, for the last 30 years, one way or another, there is always a red car in our driveway. Maybe I'll whip the Caddy out, and have both of them done. It's already in primer.
  9. I did a little more refinement to the build last night. All I have to do now is the primer coat and the touch up with putty to make the up-top more realistic looking. I also made a decision as to the color combination of the car. This is what I am aiming for. I think that this is one stunning car, and the color combination says "oh yeah!!!!" I hope to have some paint on it by next week, and have it finished for the Mid Atlantic NNL outside of Baltimore, which is next month.
  10. Outstanding!!!
  11. I have a couple of Ford 170/200 6-Cylinder engines in my stash. I plan to use one for a '60 Ranchero. Replicas and Miniatures of MD is my source for the engine. It is very good, and reasonably priced. Actually, I started on one, but it needs a lot of work.
  12. Very nice car Tulio. Personally, I would leave the '57 caps and steelies on it. It has a budget resto flavor going on right now.
  13. I have one of those in the basement to be re-done. I would love to do the first one available for sale, Dark Blue, Black interior, 6 Cylinder 3 -speed.
  14. For some odd reason, the "new Tool" '67 Cyclone never did anything for me. However, I have two rebuilder original annual '67's in my stash. That light green coupe looks awfully nice to me. Also I have an original annual '66 Fairlane to work over, and I did the mods mentioned in this section on a "new tool" Fairlane.
  15. I just got a set of 2wd 1966 Ford Wheelcovers, as well as the 4wd Bronco Set from Scenes Unlimited, and I can just say that they are F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I--C!!!!!!! They look so much better than the kit supplied wheel covers on the Bronco. They mount on a steel wheel, which is included in the package. Once I chrome them, and paint the rim black, I am going to use them on a '66 Ford XL build I have been wanting to do to bookend with my 7 Litre Convertible. The sport wheel covers in the kit are going onto a '67 Ford XL 7-Litre Hardtop, and the '67 Ford wheelcovers are going on a Mobieus '70 Ford Pickup, dressed as a Ranger XLT. Thanks to both Scenes Unlimited, and Fireball Modelworks for offering such great products, and such great service!!!!!!!
  16. That s a lot of work going there. I have a Porsche 911 that I should re-build that I built back in the 90's. The paint job on it is less than stellar, and I believe that I have most of the parts. Your work is tempting me. I can't wait to see the finished product.
  17. I know you can work a bit of magic on the Fury, but it's almost done. Wait til you see what I do with the convertible I have!!!!
  18. I started on a S & H Torino when the kit first came out. I re-did the side window profile, and reshaped the rear fenders The mods look fine to me, but I just cannot deal with that red styrene. I know it can be painted over after a coat of BIN or Future, both of which I have, but the funky engine in the kit has me looking for a more acceptable engine for something more "stock", which I found in a Mobieus Ford Pickup kit. want to do this one as a '74 Gran Torino Sport Hardtop. I have to scratch build the interior and Vinyl roof, get a Model Car Garage photoetch set for the scripts, and scare set of Magmum 500s. I picked up another one to make the JoHan '72 Nascar body into a Replica Stock '72 Gran Torino Sport. The "stock: kit is a much better fit for this project, so I will do it as the S & H car, an get a couple of the stockers.
  19. Both of those are great Tulio!!!
  20. That looks good. The factory should have offered the one-to-one in that color combination It is classy.
  21. NICE!!!!!
