  1. A couple of months ago, a gentleman came to our club meeting wanting to have a model built of his one to one car, a beautiful triple white 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. He had a few pictures of the car as it sits today while it is being finished, and he explained how it was to be finished with some factory options added to it to enhance the car. I had just finished my 2016 Camaro Build, and the project intrigued me, so I offered to take it on. I finished the build last week, and presented it to him last Sunday. He was quite happy with it, and he plans to display it with his car when he shows the finished one-to-one. I was not going to show the built model on the forum, but he gave me permission to show It here. His car is equipped as follows: Ermine White White Convertible Top White Leather Bucket Seats with Black Interior Accents 327/350 V8 Engine 4-Speed Manual Transmission Air Conditioning Power Steering Power 4-Wheel Disc Brakes Tinted Glass Back Up Lamps Side Exhaust Aluminum Wheels White Wall tires I worked from photographs and information supplied by the car's owner, who is now in possession of the build. I used the Revell 1967 Corvette Roadster kit, and made the modifications to the kit using my parts box, skill and determination to build a model as close to the real car as I could.
  2. I have one in my collection to be built. I bought it off of Ebay several years ago. I believe it was Afx in Resin, which is a defunct company. They had some problems with delivering the product, according to some on the board. I had no problems with them, nor their product, which was very cleanly cast. I have to have the bumpers chromed, and adapt it to a '71 Charger for some added detail. I really like the car, and no, I have no intention of selling it. I want to build it. Petty Blue, with black stripes and vinyl roof a white Interior trimmed in black.
  3. I love them all, especially the '60 Plymouth Fury and the '55 Chevrolet Bel Air.
  4. I love those cars, and I have all of them except the '68. I built a '67 and a '70 I am even restoring a '71, which was a poorly built glue-bomb. One thing though, you have to be very careful of that brittle JoHan Plastic, especially on the original '69 and '70's. I have a '69 Eldorado re-builder that cracks if I look at it funny. I have deemed it unbuildable, as it has cracked in several places.
  5. I am not shocked that the '6 Monaco Hardtop went for some crazy money. I have an unbuilt one waiting to built, as well as a '65 Monaco HT which has to be restored. I had an unbuilt '65 Custom 880 Convertible that I bought with a busted windshield pillar. Instead of getting the Modelhaus replacement part, I did this with it. I fell in love with the car after seeing Tom Sheehy's Conversion. I plan to so some more Police Cruisers, but not with such a rare piece. I may do my '65 Monaco this coming year, as a bookend to this one. Black, Black Vinyl Roof, and the Saddle Interior, just like the car on the brochure cover (yes I have one) and display them side by side.
  6. This is, in my opinion, my rarest model. I bought several years ago as an unbuilt kit, and built it myself.
  7. Nyuk,yuk,uk,uk,uk!
  8. Very Nice!!!
  9. I really like that one, but the hanging glass is a distraction.Easy fix though. I may do my next '66 coupe in that color. In my stash, I have one that I am going to re-build. It's a little "doggy" right now, in that it needs a lot of work, but after looking at yours, I feel good about the project.
  10. Very nice concept and execution.
  11. That one is a beaut!!!!!
  12. About 20 years ago, I was challenged by a good friend of mine to do a custom. My car of choice was a 49 Merc. I even went as far as to chop the top, using Joe Ballion's method, which is similar to the approach that Tim Boutte employed on his Beautiful '49 mentioned earlier in the thread. If I can find the car, I will dust it off, and post some pics.
  13. Wow!!! You are knocking them out of the park!!!!
  14. I like what you are doing here. I would like to pull off a '71 Satellite Sedan myself, as an "Adam-12" car.
  15. I like both of those, especially the Red one.
  16. I used the kit GT grille on my '66. One of the projects I plan to finish this year is my '67 GT Fastback, either in Acapulco Blue, or Red. and I may use this derelict to do the '64 1/2 Hardtop like my friend's sister's car. I have so many projects to finish, and I get new inspirations every day for a project.
  17. I like that one. I have been working on a Grand Sport, which seems like forever. I painted it Nassau Blue, but for some odd reason I cannot get the hood to match the body, so I have to strip it and start painting again next spring. I believe that the primer color is the problem, so I am going to change my primer. Most of the rest is done. I hope that mine comes out half as good as yours.
  18. I like that! I just picked up one of those kits today, to use some of the "gasser" parts on a sedan, along with a Resin button & tuft interior from Replicas and Miniatures CO. of MD. I have to raid the parts box for some pieces, including a FE or SOHC Ford engine and a HD Automatic Transmission. I am thinking Black of Dark Green. I cannot wait to see that one finished!
  19. Thank you. One of my college friends had a Caspian Blue '65 Convertible, which I may do a build of at a later date. When I was building the convertible, I was going to do a red one, but I built a Monogram Convertible in red, so I went with Blue with the Blue/White Pony Interior. I like the first generation Mustangs very much. When I was a kid, my best friend's sister got a Black '64 1/2 coupe on the weekend of the introduction in April 1964. I remember the car, and I plan to do a model of it, which I have started, and now is lost somewhere in my basement. I have several versions of the original AMT '64 1/2 through '66 Mustangs, including an unbuilt original '64 1/2 Mustang Coupe/Convertible kit, and '65 and '66 Fastbacks to restore like what you are doing.
  20. I'm partial to Blue Myself. I'll be watching this one.
  21. I like this one so far. When I built mine, it did not have a front suspension setup in it, so I fitted the suspension setup from a Revell '72 Olds Cutlass. I have an unbuilt one in my collection, where I am going to mate it with a fleetside bed from the '84 GMC, and install a 6-cylinder in it, like a friend of mine had. I liked the way that truck drove.
  22. I love it!!!!!
