  3. Greg, Harry, Andy and everybody else, yaall go down to Irving Texas and scour around and somebody find Mr. Dennis Doty. He was a close personal friend of Mr. Hanille and he published every credible article about Johan and Seville Enterprises thats ever been produced to date. If anybody knows him personaly then I would suggest that they interview him . Denis Doty was the go to guy about any thing Johan in the day. His magazine Model Car Journal should have driven that point home. seriously , if any body has a credible story on whats left of the Johan company , beleive Mr Dennis Doty . Ed Shaver

    67 Impala SS

Did you know that the 1967 Impala has got to be the most desired car ive yet to own? Ive wanted one since the car was new in 67. Viet Nam was staring me in the face and I was sure looking at doing hard time with SAM DA MAN. Ive yet to see where G M could combine functionability, grace and style all into onr butiful package . You sir have accomplished that goal! Well done young man, well done job! Ed Shaver
  5. " Get dat gasoline oh get dat gasoline, oh baby getdat gasoline " . from the song in 1973 Get That Gasoline" I cant remember the writers, wish I could though Ill ask my friend at the local station I go by all the time. Meanwhile, nice ride too! Ed Shaver
  6. I BET EVEN MR EURL WOUDDA ENDORSED DIS RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
  7. Harry-George, Uh it was tight, I meanTIGHT! You HAD to have the jack on hard ground as the weight of the car had to be off the chassis which in this case was the entire body. Since the Nash incorperated a Unibody structure, you had to do this to do any kind of servicing on those cars. Hudsons were just as bad too.Worked on a couple of them. Wouldn't want to do it al the time but in the restoration fields, ya take whats pushed in da door sometimes.Ed Shaver
  8. Leave the top alone and go with what you pictured already. Ed Shaver
  9. You know I had a strange request written into a will of mine several years ago. I wanted my 53 Ford Panel Delivery to be donated to the Pate Transportation Meuseum in Benbrook Texas when it was still a viable organazation. Doctor Amon Pate was a personal friend of mine and I enjoyed his swap ,meet every year even though the mud was as deep as you're waist! I would camp out yearning to see fellow petrolinia collectors , Ford Restorers and generally people I could only visit at the swap meet. then too , Doctor Pate always had his prayer service too. He was the most ecclectic collector of books and memrobilia I had ever met. Still, I figgured that my Panel truck should become something for everyone to see. He was the same way. No admission fes were charged. People could view the last Chevrolet Corvair to the Stearn section of the Queen Mary Steamship. His vision was for everyone to see what people traveled in and on to visit the world! I think had Doctor Pate lived long enough, he would have invited Bob to share his models with everyone at the meuseum where all of Texas and all around the world would have a chance to say gee, "howd they do that"? God blessem both and yes, I miss them both and yes the world is a better place for them being part of this earth! Ed Shaver
  10. And once again, I second Georges comments.Look, I was involved with several busineses over the years. I build primarily for myself and If I have a gripe , Ill take it to a P M . You know who you are if youve gotten a message from me too as I say what I mean, mean what I say too. I still strive to do what the bumper sticker on my tool box says: DO IT ONCE AND DO IT RIGHT KANTER AUTO SUPPLY. Do ya'all have any idea how much stuffI have purchaced from them over the years ? Do any of you want to hazard a guess? Certain Kit Vendors might want to take a look at how they do business. I wont mention his name as he knows who he is! You go George yer O K in my book! Ed Shaver
  11. Nice pichur John, hope you're recovering O K. Uh pm me sometime Ed Shaver
  12. Ill bet you did the " ernge" 1960 El Camino thar Ken, very attractive I might add. Ed Shaver
  13. I think it was at Martinsville Speedway back in uh I beleive 92-3, there was a guy selling radios like that that looked like 59 Cadillacs. I took several pictures of the exibit too. He was also building some Desoto Couches similar to youre 63 Impala. Now if you were to perhaps do a den or rumpus room witha television set and some figgures , hey you would have it made ! Look , theres room for all aspects of this hobby in here. Just look at me I spend my time building service stations! Ed Shaver
  14. Conor, Conor, use some imagination! Listen, when I was in High school I did a comercial using snippits from top 40 records about a ficticious Body shop. Wel, my General Business teacher cornered me after class. He said I should persue a career in copywrghting copy for advertising agencies. Well, I did attend the school of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University and I did one year at U C L A. I still wound up getting my Chauffers Class A and I fooled around North Hollywood near George Barriss shop and Painted cars. The point is , think outside of a comforatable peramiter man, you wont be sorry. Ed Shaver
  15. Connor if there was ever a car that screamed for an overhaul it ewould be the Chrysler 300! now go and do something about that piece of getto trash !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! E D Shaver
  16. Connor, what prevents you from constructing a "Mid -Engine" V-8 Mustang Prototype? Ed shaver
  17. Hey, just e-mailed George , put me in fer two packages O K ? Ed shaver
  18. Martman, if I remember correctly you said you live in western Canada, right? Im curious as to how humid the air is when you are spraying. I too suffered from the same problem using arisol touch up paint in humid conditions too here in Virginia . you might want to invest in a walmart dehumidifier. That might be the source of some of you're problem. Ed shaver
  19. Hey 1320, since yer not gonna use de Flat head, send it south so we here can use it !!!!!!!!!! Ed shaver
  20. Connor, I would sugest using a mustang as they are plentyful, the U S companies market the kit as opposed to you're idea of Ferrari and Porshe, both foriegn. You say you dont have a lot of money, hey what student ever did? P M me as to what help you need O K ? Ed Shaver
  21. Rick, Im sorry for you're loss. I lost my entire collection during a hurricane in 1972 when Agness came through Richmond Va. I had all the models A M T had offered as kits from 1959 until 1971. Harry and Cal are you're best responses thus far. I would go with what they sugest. Ed Shaver
  22. Bill, and who ever else is or what ever, building an L S C Lincon should include at least one front or rear airbag DEFLATING! those turkey karz were junk piles waitin to happin in muh shop when they wuz new. Yeah , opk , they were rear wheel drive but Poorly built and Im here to tell any one concsidering purchacing a 1-1, get one with low milage cause a beater wiil set you back! Parts are NON existant ! Meanwhile Ive got stuff that will get repaired ! Ed Shaver
  23. Hummmmmmmmmmm, I think Dean Moon would approve... Continue..... Ed Shaver
