  1. If it were up to me , I'd suggest buying books that give reference to the real car subjects that interest you the most . You can then refine you're building skills much better than looking at pictures of someone else's models ................
  2. Gee, a 1952 Lincoln would look superb within one of my up coming dioramas ..............
  3. Art, I'll go along with a new 57 Thunderbird too...............
  4. Ever just try an do a diorama with just 57 Chevrolets .............................. ?
  5. I want anything that's streetable , NOT cartoonish , and Not what's already been kitted ....................
  6. Greg, I'd be happy with ANY of the Buicks , Oldsmobile's or Cadillac's !
  7. Tony, on the Overhead doors , will you be hinging them so as to make them slide within a track ?
  8. Fine job as everyone has already mentioned ! Finding a Hasagawa kit though here in Virginia , weeeeel , that could prove interesting .
  9. Well, app arently they THINK they know how to judge a contest !
  10. The tank is scratch built Everything in the shop is too................
  11. . First, let me open this by saying THANK YOU to both Johnny and Joker here . Johnny provided MUCH NEEDED information about the interior , color and surrounding area. Joker handmade fishing poles for the place.
  12. Lots of folks wonder if this building was part of my imagination . Naw, it was sent to me piecemeal on one of the service station forums I participate in . I was already tired of doing service stations and I wanted a challenge . For two years , I spent time doing research on this building . I had good weather to do the actual building last summer when the heatpump/ air conditioner blew out . For a couple of months and two plumbing companies , we pretty much camped out on the back porch . Me , I was busy slapping Fiberglass over a Foam Core skeleton . Being as I post over at the H A M B , I was asked to submit pictures of the model of the "Former " Fish Inn. See , the real one burned down in a grease fire . http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=428585&page=3370 I'll put some of the construction shots down in dioramas .
  13. James, you didn't add the fact that there was a good five coats of Green enamel brushed onto one of those so called Meusuiem pieces that guy had too !
  14. One could make a case of Trumiter being the "New " Palmer plastics company . Look at a 60's palmer kit and look at any Trumpiter automobile kit ........................
  15. They look really fine Al. I assume they're the Seville repops that showed up on shelves back in the late 80's ? Even if they are from when Jo-han was still running them , they all look good to me .
  16. Tulio, once again, a great piece !
  17. John, , to be road worthy, yes Tandem wheels are the safe way to go . I can tell ya from being in the towing business for a number of years that a rear single wheel just won't cut da mustard on a heavy body with a load .
  18. That's the kinda "Jackpot story I like hearing about !
  19. Riley, uh hate to disagree with ya , but the Fleetside Ford trucks , ( 70 onward ) had a LOT of rust out along the rear wheel house where the inner fender was spot-welded to the bed side . I think you simply lucked into a nice example . Hey, call anyone at Dennis Carpenter Ford re productions in North Carolina if you think I'm making this up. I drive a 78 myself . I've also owned a real hard working 79 F-350 too. They rust , trust me ..................
  20. A M T did the Torino as part of their Motor City Stocker series . They're way over priced these days though . All they were , were un assembled Promotional cars molded in White plastic .
  21. Try a light coat of either Tamyia Smoke sprayed L I G H T L Y or Testors Metallic Charcoal sprayed LIGHTLY from the BACK SIDE ...................
  22. Neil, uh, Dominick, uh both the Studebaker Conestoga wagon and the Volvo P- 1800 sportwagons would be way kwell ideas !
  23. Pretty much the same stuff I use too . I'll use .060 sheet plastic for a floor and generally 1/4 inch luan plywood as a base material . You can apply Bondo over the wood and over Foam core too for texture and terrain ............
