Thanks out to mr. Yost

Better yet, actually watch Donn in action ! -
I gotta hand it to ya . You certainly have a handle on the large scale modeling !

John, Cyno Accranate , uh Super Glue has it's uses . It's fine for gluing dis similar objects , ie, Fiberglass to paper . Generally speaking , most Super Glues only join two surfaces in a TINY spot as too much and that stuff WILL NOT CURE! 1. Super Glues cure with the ABSENCE of oxygen. Styreene plastic glues will actually "Melt " two pieces of plastic together . So too will a small drop of Acetone which the "Liquid styrene adhesives are .As it's already been stated , Styreene adhesive WILL NOT JOIN EPOXY RESINS ! 2. Epoxy adhesive can be used to join "Clear " parts to Styreene . However , this glue can be tricky if any pressure is applied to a joint also . My suggestion here is if it's a part that will get moved as in a working part , don't use it . 3. White Elmer's Glue can also be used on gluing Clear parts to Styreene too. 4. If you wish to join a metal or P. E part to either Styreene or to Resin, I'd suggest the Clear Epoxy .

NEW! Modelhaus 57 Dodge D-501 sedan
Eshaver replied to tomsheehy's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
One mention about anything from Model haus, they consistently produce a quality product and their customer service is second to none ! -
The convertible definitely wins out among the pair . However , the convertible has this "Aftermarket " Rolled and Pleated interior . I don't have a clue as to what the tool makers were looking at back when these kits first appeared . The Hard top is abysmal though as it's so mis- shaped , I'm at a loss as to what they were using for measurements . The P. E hinges are best left in the box . As to the chrome issue , well, depends upon which issue Stephens International shipped that day. The very first issues had Dull Chrome . They were re called and a "Replacement " tree was shipped . Then too, a bunch of them got shipped with two Chrome trees , one dull , the other , correct . I certainly couldn't recommend any Trumpiteer kit regardless of subject . Theres way too much correction on anything they have ever passed out on us to make the high cost justifiable . This goes too for their Ranchero kit too..........

I remember the old Monogram 1958 Thunderbird when it first appeared back about 1966. Molded in Black Plastic , that car was a looker . Then too, how about the AMT/ Linburg 1934 Ford truck kits . The first one , just the 1943 Ford truck with it's wrecker crane molded in a nice Tan was highly polished . The latter Yellow with the stake bed option wasn't too shabby either .

Greg, some kits already have hit their "Ceiling price " so to speak. At the Old Dominion Open , ( Richmond Virginia ) this year , I spoke to two vendors who latterly could not come off the MSRP. The reason , fuel prices and the hall rent. Hey, I'm a business person myself . I spent years selling N O S Ford parts . You add motel, food , fuel and now some increased hall rents into a already slim profit margin and whammo, it's make or break time .

Wheelbacks: Can you buy them or make them?
Eshaver replied to gwolf's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I remember Time Machine doing some of the older AMT Wheelbacks . However , I'm also aware of some scuttlebutt concerning long delivery times from this company now too. Yes, Model haus should be able to help too............ -
Kris , I'm only aware of a Revell AG kit . That one had an opening trunk, decent proportions and looked very nice when it was assembled .
-
Anne , I dunno why you dis like the chassis of that car, the real ones were the same as the model. That was pretty much the very last car ever built within it's size to use Unitized construction. You could I suppose go and open the trunk area as the top stowed under it . Seven relays , three miles of 12 ga wire operated the convertible top on those cars . The 430 E L engine was painted all Black as was the entire engine compartment . I was working in a Mercury dealer at the time . Oh let me tell ya , when the top DID malfunction , it was a really " bigg Exceterin " sized headache . As for the kit parts , they go together well and one shouldn't see any assembly problems .

Add an addition like what George did . I display my dioramas usually one at a time .The largest , The Fish Inn , 3 feet wide - 4ft long can sit on a coffee table . Course that's me . I like spreading my art projects around the house too.................

How Far Would You Travel To A Show?
Eshaver replied to Bill Eh?'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I can certainly understand this situation there Bill. Since I'm the one who has to be with my son who is somewhat of a Special Needs child and a ex who has a couple of real serious health issues , it's hard to go anywhere . Generally, I can do a day trip as within my state . I'm trying to at least go to Maryland this year ........... -
I guess I should remind you Alyn, never wrap you're thumb around the crank when starting a T model ...............

I like you're version better . This one looks more "Balanced ". I'm surprised Ed Roth himself never envisioned a second version of his creation. I met him once when he was part of a World of Wheels show in Dallas once . He really was a wealth of useful information that day. He would stop and answer my questions as he was signing autographs for others .

So What does Revell Have up Their Sleeves?
Eshaver replied to tabsscale1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is liable to get deleted , but here goes . In Philippian's III there is a proverb . I try hard at my advanced age to adhere to it too. Loosely translated , it means Thou shalt not sweat the small "STUFF ' ....... Hey, a good build is a good build regardless, so chill ! -
1946 or 1947 ford pickup
Eshaver replied to daveblev's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Dave , to my knowledge , no one has done this very over looked Ford . I've long thought of converting the 40 into one though . -
Any body that can build anything resembling a Pontiac out of ANY Trumiteer kit gets extra credit points out of me . I'm still sorry I spent hard earned money on one from years ago .
-
Wasn't Revell Germany doing this kit the last time around ?
-
The biggest issue I've seen on the R & R Plymouth was fitting the front end up to the body. The last car I Fully restored just happened to have been a 1950 Plymouth 2dr sedan back in 1995. I mean to tell ya, finding parts was impossible . I wound up making the interior / engine sheet metal using what was left of the original pieces , photographs and a good amount of torch work. The Plymouth WILL nearly be as troublesome too. I go by the real car all the time .............

The 2dr Fusion I can not argue ! -
Del. I'm one who actually met/ knew Mr. Barris . No, I'm no fan of him either . He used to look down on me cause I worked at a competitor of his years ago. I later went on to start my own business. Gene Winfield isn't retired, far from it . By the way, a real gentleman too.
