  1. Monogram did a 78 malibu in 1-32 scale . The last time I saw that kit , it was some kind of a Fire Chief car . Monogram, then Revell did an Elcamino , first as the Bass Master set . Thats all I'm familiar with ......... Ed Shaver
  2. Yes Austin, there is . Ed Shaver
  3. The dissapointment for me concerning the Rambler wagon wasn't really the too shallow interior , it was the THICK Green glass. The rest of the kit was you're average Promotional car . Ed Shaver
  4. Art, ya got that right . Coil springs were used all the way from 1961-7. Cabs were different , Shoot , I have to really think about besides the drive train that wasn't changed out in 1968. You would have thought another company built Chevrolet trucks then . I agree with Camaro Man on the fitment of 69-72 parts fitting a 67-8 Cab too. On 1-1 trucks , even the radiator support carried a different part number . A guy I used to do some Body work for in Ft Worth years ago tried to make 68 parts fir his 70 model with some real wierd adjustments to the sheet metal . Yeah, he took an air chisel to make everything fit and pass the State inspection laws . Ed Shaver
  5. Aaron, I'm suprised at you . I wouldda thought you of all people would be on this one . Looks to me like the porportions are right on . Ed Shaver
  6. Yes, I too was a big fan of the American satco tires . I went around as i was a releif driver for Wal Worl for a couple of years . I would do my deliveries , drop a trailer and use the cab to stop at a nearby hobby shop and of course buy out all the tires . Ed Shaver
  7. Leave it to a fellow Texan to bring me a lifesaver ! THANK YOU Steve !!!!!!!! I enjoyed looking at the picture . it at least gives me an idea as to what General Motors is doing in the land of Under ..................... Ed Shaver
  8. Nick, I should renew my passport an come up to a visit in you're provence . I bet there is a lot of stuff I have not seen as many cars are imported to the west and some come east , eventually............ Ed Shaver

  10. You will never beleive this , but I once knew a fellow who owned a 1957 Bel-Air hardtop, 265, manual 3spd with the origional paint on it . . The colors , same as you'res!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
  11. I certainly hope the remains of Jo-han go forth into the Illinois Model company. I'm eagerly awaiting a "Colonade " Generic motas Oldsmobile ................. Ed Shaver

Those shredded tires take it over the top. Very nicely done work young man ! Ed Shaver
  14. This one is a squared version of the old Viper. Probably not enough head room in it fer me anyway ......... Ed Shaver
  15. Man , what drugs , uh nightmare was this designer doing anyway ? I'll vote for the old G M C Motorhome . Least it looked like a futuristic bus . Ed Shaver
  16. Monty, somone else posted a link to a testors Color chart andI looked it over carefully. Seeing that the colors were simply re packaged as the small bottles for the most part , a lot of hobby shops simply don't or won't have excess space for a duplicate paint line . I think Testors would have done well to have madethe One coat Laquers in bottle form . Ed Shaver
  17. Uh huh.................................. Ed Shaver
  18. Jim, George , I couldn't make it . I have been trying to re coup from our main car that gets my son back an forth to school. Had to let the dealer go into it . Maybe next year ............. Ed Shaver

  21. Mike , first, I'm not familliar with the geography of Floridia . still, there are automobile meusuiems , there are car shows , ( 1-1 ) , stores , ( auto- truck ) where someone can put out flyers . This is where you and a couple of DEDICATED helpers go into action! Make Flyers that ask a question . You want to inform anyone who might be willing to just be a participant . Line up a back room in a resturant , a dining hall, a church, a community center , anywhere you can gather a couple dozen interested folks . Ask questions of the audience as to what they might want in a modeling club and DO IT! Find someone to do an "Outline Newsletter " these would be placed in both Hobby Shops and in Auto parts stores . Once the word is out , continue to post a few complimentry Newsletters out so people who didn't get the word might see also . Look , Southern van council was formed out of a couple of beers and a couple of Vanners who felt that the Gulf Coast Vans wern't being represented in an organized way in the 1970's . I joined in as it was an inexpensive way to advertise my products to my audience ........... Ed Shaver
  22. Hey, great looking build , however , I wouldn't buy one . Ed Shaver
  23. At one time , a company known as Classic Metal works did the 49 Mercury as a convertable . I have one . Ed Shaver
  24. Virgil, I would say if ya had a spare 61-3 Ford Pick up cab, you probably could use it as a base . You would then stack the top over the fender area and go ut from there ............. Ed Shaver
