  1. 1969 camaro Z/28 The main characteristic feature of this model is the paint scheme. It was based on a bike I had ages ago where the idea was to be less recognizable by the cops, I mean, think about it, half the people saw a red car, half of them saw a white one J Power is provided by the kit supplied twin turbo 350 (may be a 302 not sure) And just so they don’t feel left out, here are some guys who need to take some summer classes in order to graduate but they just might before the end of the year 1975 dodge dart 1970 dodge superbee mated to a remote controlled chassis “wildcart†An early VW bug converted to a front engine (custom turbo’d GTI mill) rear wheel drive pick up truck Acura RSX type-S Build this as a drift car It’s a dual engine all wheel drive machine that really only needs the exhausts build and put on to be finished
  2. Diymirage's class of '10 (in order of appearance) "chicken of the sea" 1971 plymouth hemi'cuda Some custom options include a 426 hemi fed through 8 carbs running into a log manifold (from the 396 firedome hemi) a set of spyder rims, a superbird wing and a custom 6 inch AARC hood Next up, a Pontiac grand prix This is a nascar kit turned lowrider This model is chuckfull of modifications but some highlights are the scrathbuild headlights, the custom flipflop hood with scratchbuild hinges, custom decal (on the hood) and painting on the rest of the car. The mill is a crossbarrel 302 from a camaro and the taillights are kitbashed from some import (the vinyl top is painters tape) Our next graduate is a 1971 dodge charger R/T Nothing special here, OOB kit with only plug wires added and painted the same colour as the accents in my sons nursery since I build this one to go on his shelf I did take some freedom in the interior paint scheme
  3. hard to tell if i would be building at the same rate as i do now 30 would last me 5 years no problem my suggestion would be to be savvy when buying kits pick the ones that are allready harder to find that way you have a good chance of trading a older (hard to find) kit for a newer one you dont have the funds to buy
  4. feel free to adopt me...ill help you build daddy-o
  5. your absolutly right, it is a 68 charger (though the 69 is very similar and uses the same underpinnings) and if you want to go with the vinyl top the bodies swap no problem aswell (though im not even sure which one is which right now)
  6. looks good and the colour suits it really well little tip on parts that wont stay on (at least, what i do) drill a small hole in the part that wont stay and in an adjecent part (in this case the pipe and the frame) the put a drop of super glue in both hole and insert a little piece of metal (maybe a part of a paperclip) into both hole i use this trick a lot when scratchbuilding stuff that isnt perfect
  7. revell limited edition kits my favorite is the 69 charger (two engines and race options) or the 32 (or 34) ford that has a 5.0 mudstank engine as well as a 396 hemi the modified stockers car hauler 57 F100 has a flattie and a firedome hemi with two different intake aswell as a bumcha custom parts and tools and lets not forget the 70 superbee pro street with 426 hemi AND DOHC hemi
  8. same here, and the wifey likes it so i buoght it for her a while ago
  9. looks good you cant ever have too many mopars thats a nice scenery you got there too, is that the cut out from the kit ?
  10. here is one i started but never paid the finishing touches on its called "project haz-mat" the ram/plow and gatlin are both scratchbuild and so it the flame thrower on top (i can take some better pics if wanted)
  11. well, if this were to happen i would use it as an excuse to build the 68 hemi cuda from the movie "highwaymen"
  12. heres one
  13. thats really starting to look like something there it reminds me of when i first moved to lowell several years ago i was sitting in the back yard thinking of what a nice little hick town this was when i heard what sounded like thunder i turned around and sure enough my nieghbours were drag racing two pickup down the street both of them looked like that and had stacks on them (judging by the black smoke one was a diesel)
  14. most dangerous car i ever had was a 1990 opel E kadett (pontiac lemans) 503 57 apart from my terrible driving at the time (it had a 1.4 8 valve in it which topped out at 120 MPH) the car had some unusual styling (home made of course) i guess a picture is worth a thousand words so here goes lets just say im lucky no pedastrians ever tried to jaywalk in front of me or that sheetmetal would have sliced through them like a knife trough warm butter
  15. i think there is a 1/32 kit of the saleen not sure on the exact model though
  16. i like using this technique for painting stuff like exhaust manifolds (or the turbos in this picture) i first paint it silver and then dry brush on the rust (and sometimes black) to give it a more weathered effect
  17. if they would have stuck with the origenal font on the billboard it would have looked much better you know, where the letters "HEMI" are the same colour as the rest of the billboard instead of just the outline like they did that little detail makes the whole thing seems half way done
  18. porsche is about the only car manufacturer who can make convertables that look good with the top up or down because they are the only ones left who still design cars as converts instead of taking a coupe and axing the roof having said that, what a waste on that hood, completly kills the credibility of the car, fake hood scoops belong on hondas NOT on cudas
  19. and that is why we only build several kits at a time IF they are both molded in different colours
  20. looks awesome but...why is the shaker attached to the hood ?
  21. second favorite engine for my builds is the old 440 topped only by the 426 hemi of course (speaking of which...i joust bought a 66 nove prostreet which im thinking of putting my "special" hemi in) in which case i would call it a supernova speaking of ceilings, you should see the ceiling i put up in the guest room, its pretty common in my neck of the woods but it seems od to every american i show it too, i nailed pine slats to the trusses and stained it to match the rest off the wood (a reddish cherry colour) work in the room it has white walls, charcoal carpet and red upholstery and bedding best part, no sanding
  22. ditto love the interior on this one what did you use to glue the flocking down ? cant go wrong with a hemi iether
  23. looks great awesome paintjob
  24. looks like a very rebuildable body, straight as a board you may wanna scuff that up a bit for a more weathered look
  25. glad to hear you got something done to the house i fixed a drawer and thats it me and the wifey did agree that when we finally get to finish the downstair bathroom we'll put in a jacuzi (no idea how to finance that though) good luck with that D50 front axle you know, if you really want a small glimpse of the engine you can scroll up and read about the bottom half in my first post speaking of which, the exhausts from the pro street bee will clear the chassis so those will be the tail end of it
