  4. Tell Gunther that they changed the location of the show to Canada, ( in my hobby room ) - I'll send you the mailing info - seriously, great display - congrats to your friend.

  6. Super style going on with this John - thanks
  7. Is this a question ? .... sorry, I'm not following.
  8. Two thumbs up - mission accomplished !!
  9. I'm pretty sure it is the same chassis as the Young American, I think the whole kit is; besides the body & decals
  10. No need to "Experiment", the instructions I've given you, ARE the way to do it. - I paint for a living & have most of my life; if you come up with a better solution from other "Ideas" .....please tell, I'd love to know. - If you want a more simple solution, you could always just go ahead & do the typical cammo paint job & then shoot a fine mist of pearl over it; but then you'll end up with a pearl Cammo paint job, not a flake job. Anyways good luck & have fun.
  11. Actually, it's really straight forward, you want to tone it down right at the start, by using a black base & spray that. then mix your gold flake with clear with a few drops of black in it, this will dull the usual flash of the flake right away. - spray this. Next, you want to pick the kandie paints to do your cammo, usually this would be a brown & green, or something along those lines ( I would use HOK Kandy Rootbeer, and a kandy green ) ..... so now you want to tone these down, again, by using black, so put a few drops of black into the colors, a bit at a time & test as you go to see if the tone is what you need. do your cammo pattern & clear - As far as the dull goes, your on your own with that, cause this makes no sense to me, it will just kill the whole look of the flake.-it defeats the purpose of the flake, which works by using light; when you remove the gloss, you remove effect. Trust me - the cammo flake idea is weird enough, without screwing around with dullcoat. If you need to get flake, try a place like Paintwithpearl.com - Good luck
  12. Your right Harry, 99% of the cars Barris claims to have done, are other peoples work - it's amazing how many guys don't have a clue. - He's the King of B.S.
  13. Super clean - great job on this
  14. Hey Chris, try placing the piece on a heating pad ( set on low, vinyl facing up ) , for 5 minutes; it will make it much easier to seperate.
  15. As inspiration, perhaps, ( altough I'm not sure how ) .....as to an actual "Cartoon Car" build .....nope - hate them with a passion, I didn't mind them; until everybody & his brother rode the trend to death.
  16. these Monogram classics are meant to be fun & simple, and look great when built right and that's exactly what youv'e done with this one of yours, made it look great - keep building them & have fun !!
  17. Great job, as usual Sean - Bravo !!!
  18. If you type 1/25 motorcycles in google, you'll get a link ( 5 items down ) ... to a certain forum that has a thread, with a list & pics of ones available & out of production & from which source.
  19. I think skill is the key, as you say, I enjoy Revell kits .... they build up great if you treat each sub-assembly as a kit within a kit & have patience. The super fine detail of the parts make them both challenging & rewarding.
  20. This is a great looking VW Dominik, it may have taken awhile; but it paid off. Thanks
  21. This is by far, the best one of these Deora / Little Red Wagon wheelstanders I've seen built yet - congrats
  22. I agree with Bill, the flake size does seem to lend itself more to a boat / dune buggy type finish..... but it's all a matter of personal taste, if it looks right to you & your happy with it; then by all means go for it
  23. I'd try enamel thinner for the enamel paint, it might work better than the lacquer thinner, I think you'll find it a bit more compatible
  24. Great Job on this Grzegorz, super wagon
  25. The color really adds to this very clean build - thanks
