  1. Got a rollcage built, what a pain it was. It's not perfect but will work when assembled. Took a bucket seat out of a 63 Impala and modified the seat pattern to closer match what was in the car and painted it Red. The door panels were modified by taking out the lower portion of the rear panel and replacing it with just a flat piece of plastic. The interior was painted in different shades of Metallic Blue and Black. Rollcage was painted Black. Body has been decaled up using a set of Fred Cady decals, second attempt, couldn't get them to lay down in the door where I removed the trim. Painted up a set of PPP wheels and tires as well.
  2. I don't think I have ever seen one of them build before. Always seemed like a donor kit. Looks good. It is a nice paint scheme.
  3. Sorry guys it's the Lindberg Petty kit from a few years ago. Thanks for the comments guys.
  4. Continuing with my Daytona 500 Winners, I've gotten started on my 1964 Winner. With the help from the Randy Ayers Nascar Modeling forum and the internet, I have been able to find out that the car was not all Petty Blue like so many build them. The car was our received a Factory Light Blue with Metallic Blue interior. They sprayed the body in the Petty Blue and left the interior mostly stock with a rollcage added that was painted to match the interior color. The chassis and under hood was left as delivered. So I proceeded based on this information and this is what I came up with. I mixed Testors Light Blue and white together and airbrushed the chassis. I sprayed the interior Testors Laqcuer Silver Blue Metallic and I just used Testors Big Bad Blue for the body. My not be the right colors but close enough for me. I used the great Poweside decals as well. Pictures was taken with my phoen so they are not the best right now.
  5. I don't see what the big deal with her is. Everyone talks about how good looking driver she is but barf!!! I don't get? There have been other female drivers but none of them have had the push like she has gotten. I just don't get it. Every time they start talking about her if I even I try to watch the race, I tune it out, mute it or change channel for a few minutes. If I choose to watch the racing, I want to watch it for the racing not Nascar pushing a female driver.
  6. Just did a quick search on evilbay to see what they had in the vehicles. I forgotten alot of them. I think I still have some of my toys stashed. Some of them high very high prices on them. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2053587.m570.l1311.R3.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.Xm.a.s.k.&_nkw=m.a.s.k.+toys&_sacat=0&_from=R40
  7. The bottles I got has gloss enamel on them and was reading on his application guide and was thinking that I didn't need to clear it but I seen where he offers different paint types i believe so I was wondering what all you guys have done. Thanks.
  8. I have seen so many of you guys using Scale Finishes paint, that I decided to try it myself. I have ordered some and I have seen where some of you use the Tamiya Primer under it. Does the paints need to be lceared or not?
  9. I am looking for a 1967 Cougar to build the Bud Moore prepped Trans Am race cars. Does anybody know where I may find a resin kit?
  10. How much work would it take Revell to take there 69 Camaro and do a 67-68 Camaro? We need a good 67-68 Camaro model kit. I would think that the Revell 69 Camaro would be a good starting place wouldn't it?
  11. Has anybody ever done deacls to replicate this car? In my search for reference pictures of Trans-Am series cars I came across it and like the looks of the green and white.
  12. Awesome. Looks great.
  13. Does anybody make a resin conversion for the full front bumper Camaro to use with the AMT 70 1/2 Camaro? I would also need the tall ducktail spoiler for the trunk. Anybody know if this is availible in resin or if I need to buy the AMT 70 1/2 Motion Camaro for the spoiler?
  14. So its a cheapened unassembled promo. At least they are trying to get kids involved in our hobby.
  15. Wow has it really been since July 2012 that I was able to get anything accomplishedo n this model. Man time flies when you are trying to raise 2 small children, eats up alot of modeling time. Anyway, almost finished my 1955 Chrysler Lee Petty Stock Car. Here a few pics as it stands right now. Interior Exterior Not perfect by a long shot but I am just happy that I am able to get a model this far along. Color is close but graphics should be black but, decals are from "Decals by Lucas" and they were printed in blue.
  16. Thanks guys. But can anyone tell whats on the quarter panel?
  17. Would anybody have any other pictures of this particular car? My father would like to build one but would like to see a better picture it. http://www.dragracingimagery.com/photos/jc-126-llombardobuckshot2hsanova.jpg
  18. Still the best build of this kit that I have seen.
  19. I've been reading a book that my wife got me for Christmas and got me to thinking about digging my model out again to get going back on it. It also got me to thinking about your build here. I enjoyed reading through you WIP and have been using some of your tips/ideas on my put I need to dig it out to see where I left off with it. Again Bill, awesome build of a so what hard kit to assemble out of the box. Just wanted to bring this back to the fore front for thise that missed out on it originally. The book is this one. http://www.amazon.com/Chryslers-Turbine-Car-Detroits-Creation/dp/1613743459/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388525180&sr=8-1&keywords=chrysler+turbine
  20. Wow your 10th one. You must really love that kit. It is a great kit, isn't it? I love this kit as well. Beautiful job. I really like it with that Hemi!!!!
  21. I just watched my dvd copy not that long ago. Great movie for car guys. In case any is interested here is where I got my dvd copy from. http://www.thevideobeat.com/jd-biker-hot-rod-movies/lively-set-1964.html
  22. I prefer the Johan bodies over just about anything today. They just looked correct and they look great over modern day chassis'.
  23. Thanks guys. I will be slow with work and tryin to raise 2 kids under 3 yrs. But I will keep plugging away at it.
  24. Got decals from SlotCar Fever and wasn't totally happy with them. Could just be from not dealing with them prior, I don;t know for sure but I went and tried to make some of my own. I placed them the numbers on the car and the red bled thru badly so I hand painted over the decal to have a guide, not totally happy with results. I used some Fred Cady decals for the front fenders and some of the sponsors. I have painted the red in the middle of Smokey's on the front fender as well. I have noticed in some of the pictures that the sponsors are in differnet location, the Champion moves from quarter to door in some pictures so I guess this car was run more than once instead of just in the 1956 Southern 500. Need to see if I can come up with what races it ran.
