  1. Sorry , Dan ! We have to pass this year ! Too much to do before NNL East . Being that I am off that weekend , I'll be buried in the shop ! I need to get caught up on the commission work too !
  2. Anne , Slixx decals sells a couple of different sets for what you are looking for .
  3. The ones that I was married to ! Lmao !
  4. Your next pilgrimage is the NNL East , don't make me come down there and drag you outta that shop ! Lmao ! By the way , I love the builds , no box .... No boundaries ! Lol !
  5. Anne , I recommend Virgil Suarez's book on weathering . Bob Downie has two books on airbrushing . If you like to build drag cars , I suggest picking up the Larry Davis' books . A wealth of information along with a ton of pictures ! Donn Yost
  6. She is ! She has the pedal to the floor and goin for broke ! Just like a modeler should !
  7. For those of you that followed the Zombie / apocalyptic build off . I built a Peterbilt and used razor blades for a " clearance " bar on the front bumper . In a hurry , I reached into the top drawer of a cabinet that the truck was sitting on , knocking off the front bumper in the process . Suddenly , I hear this rapid dripping sound . Looking down , I see a growing puddle of red . Yep ! One of my own creations bit me on the knuckle ! The shop pup just sat there , cocking his head at my antics and the expected cussing that went with them ! Lmao !
  8. Anne , The Testors bottle paints are an excellent product to use . Cut it at a 2 to 1 paint to thinner ratio to shoot it through your airbrush . I read that you bought the Paache H kit . Use the # 5 head and needle assembly , you'll get more coverage with each pass . One more thing I forgot .... You want to use cheap hardware variety laquer thinner , no automotive grade ! Donn Yost
  9. I would suggest the ones without glue on the windshield ....... If there are any ...... Lmao !
  10. '40 Ford Sedan Stock Car ... First time building thread
  11. Take a look at the lady's thread on the workbench , she has skills . Aside from that , the only way you develop skills is to tackle the project at hand and be patient with it ! Anne , you can handle photoetch , trust me on this !
  12. Surrendering is not an option ! Lol ! I buy once a year , yeah , it hurts , but so worth it ! You can't beat the look , that's for sure . Talk to a couple of the local builders , drum up an order , and split the cost of the shipping !
  13. Really like the way you extended your color scheme throughout the entire build . There is just something about that red, black , and white combination that draws your attention to it and keeps it there ! Very nice work !
  14. AN fittings ? Pro Tech , Detail Master , RB Motion .
  15. Yep ! That'll do the trick ! You have a regulator , now all you need is the inline moisture trap . Well , an airbush would help the situation too ! Lol !
  16. Anne , Dixieart.com , delivered to your door , $ 63.00 . Paache H series set , single action , has every thing you need to get started . Donn Yost
  17. Anne , A compressor is the best way to go . I prefer one with a tank . You'll also need a regulator and an inline moisture trap . The pancake or nailer compressors available at Lowes , Sears , Home Depot , Harbor Freight , etc would fit the bill perfectly and come with a regulator . All you need then would be the inline moisture trap ! Donn Yost
  18. I'll vouch for all of the aforementioned kits ! Don't hold your breath waiting for the promotion check to show up though , you'll end up turning blue and hitting the deck first ! Lmao !
  19. Joe , To be honest .... It's simply your car ! Back in the day , you could pay for performance packages for just about anything that was on the floor . The assertion that Chevy didn't offer that X motor for that Y car is only half correct . On the lot it wasn't ! However , if you had the money , that X motor for Y car became readily available in a nano second ! Lol !
  20. Alpha Colors has an excellent set , local hobby shop or art stores carry them .
  21. Same place , same time , and bring your wallet ! You're buying , Short Arms / Deep Pockets !
  22. Testors Olds Engine Blue comes close ! It's a fair representation of Chevy's Marina Blue .
  23. Problem being .... Wasn't me ! Had no idea it existed until you mentioned it !
