  1. Atta , boy , Bear ! Paintwork is coming right along ! Very nice work !
  2. Bill. Isn't bigger always better ? Lol ! Da bigger da motor , da faster she goes . Unless your name was Bill Jenkins , of coarse !
  3. A new discovery for me .... As usual , more by accident then design . I sat a painted body , Testors enamel & clear , just for a moment , in Bleche White to strip the wax off it . Yep ! Forgot about it , went about painting the other prepped bodies that day . Went down to the shop the next morning , remembered the body , opened the container , whoops , body was stripped . The paint sloughed off , simply by drawing a finger down the side of the body . Lesson learned , just have to re prep and re paint the body . Now I know , Bleche White acts as a paint stripper also !
  4. Watch in' all the girls go by ! Yep ! I know that one too ! Lmao !
  5. For the fuel rail body , you can use Plastruct round stock.
  6. Just my opinion .... We are skating on thin ice here with a chance of hurting the aftermarket industry . Harry explained the rules quite clearly . Casey stated that in his opinion , there is a razor thin line involved with this subject between advertising and promotion which I agree with , up to a point ..... Being a member of the aftermarket cottage industry , I pay for advertisement , whether it be through the magazines , my website , or the online forums . Without it , I'd be dead in the water. Even more importantly , however , is other individuals who purchased my DVDs , promoting their worth in the magazines , on the forums , YouTube , chat rooms , etc . This is what fuels the motor for a business and keeps the lights on and the doors open ! Every chance I get , I praise an individual's product that I find worthy of it , here's why . By doing so , I help that individuals sales grow , which allows them to garner the funds to create even more products for the aftermarket industry . This also helps the hobby itself , by informing other individuals of said products worth , they purchase them , more funds for more product development . Simply put , I'll have more options to work with , and more toys to play with , be they tools , kits , parts , paints , etc ! Revell comes out with a new kit , the resin industry comes out with a different body to go with said kit . Bob Dudek machines a specific set of wheels and head light buckets , while Slixx puts out a new set of decals that enables us to build three different drag versions of Revell's new offering . The industry is a circle that feeds each and every part of itself through promotion via the Internet , forums , and magazines . If an individual or company cannot afford to advertise , how better to help them and the hobby expand and grow by simply promoting through word of mouth or the keyboard via the forums . Need aluminum machined parts ? Go see Dudek ! Braided line ? Go to Charlie at Pro Tech ! Badge decals ? Keith Marks , he's the best ! Resin parts ? Eddie Fluck , The MADD Modelers of Detroit , RMR , Competition Resin , etc . Am I advertising here ? Nope ! I am not making one red cent off of them by doing this , I am promoting their excellent line of products . By doing so , I am helping their business and our hobby grow , as should we all ! We have seen quite a few worthwhile companies and products disappear over the last few years for a variety of reasons . The last thing I want to see is this forum or a rule change being the demise of even more ...... Think about that !
  7. Yo ! Gramps ! Congrats on the weight loss , proud of ya ! As to the female " sandwich " ? The next thing to get sandwiched will be your head .... Between two of the pretty blonde lady's skillets ! Ps .... I mailed her two 16" cast iron skillets to create an optimum intense effect ! Oh , by the way , you're welcome ! Lmao !
  8. Wasn't the Revell Penske kit a ' 66 ?
  9. It will not ruin enamel , it will enhance the gloss and smooth out the finish .
  10. It's not difficult , believe me ! Take the assembly off of your compressor and take it with you to the store . Explain to the employee what you want to do and they'll help you out . You might have to buy a few black iron pipe nipples and fittings for the retrofit along with the new moisture trap , and as indicated , a roll of Teflon tape . Two small pipe wrenches are the only tools that are required , or you can use 2 Channel Lock pliers in a pinch !
  11. I still play for 3 different softball teams , still in good shape for the shape I'm in ! Lol ! Played in the Co-Ed Sno Ball Softball Charity Tournament last Saturday with my kids , finished in second place . Laying in bed with Kathie the next morning , I started laughing . She asked me why ? . I said , " How is it possible that even my hair is hurting me this morning ? " We laid there and laughed like two fools ! What really matters , doesn't mind . What really minds , simply doesn't matter ! Keep moving ! It's harder to hit a moving target ! Lmao ! Oh , one other tidbit .... Some of the tournaments that I play in these days ? They're called Senior Tournaments for some strange reason .... I don't get it !
  12. Since when is mentioning a new product coming out on the market considered advertising ?
  13. Chris , Buy another inline filter , install it between the compressor outlet and your airbrush hose . The filter that is on the compressor will fill up far quicker with moisture then you would ever begin to believe .
  14. Hmmm , let's see ! Make me look older with silver high lights ? Nope ! Ex-wives beat ya to it . Put me in a dress and heels ? Possible ! But it won't be any scarier lookin' than Virgil in that hideous kilt he so proudly sports ! Lmao ! Sorry , Timman , past the age of giving a BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH ! Lmao ! Besides , it's all about having fun , right ?
  15. All right ! Fantastic job through and through ! That being said , the next has to be of the shiny variety . You have to keep the other side of the fence's occupants happy too ! Lmao ! The amp and guitar put it over the top !
  16. Best you save some time for building a few others on down the line . There's a rumor in the wind that somebody is looking for you ! Just wanted to give you a heads up , he's a bit of a motor mouth .
  17. Good Lord ! Lets see ... Screw gun ? Check ! 3 in wood screws ? Check ! 2 by 4s ? Check ! Do it ! Alright , I have now put your fashion designer in an empty room where she can no longer do any more damage to the Forum's members eyesight . Hmmm , what do I do about you now ? Therein lies the mystery ! Because the answer is , absolutely nothing ! You are whacked out beyond redemption ! What a wonderful sight to see, first thing in the morning ! You ain't right , Virg , in no way , shape , or form ! Lmao !
  18. See you on down the road , old friend . May you rest easy and in blissful peace .
  19. And to top it off , Rob , he has the audacity to accuse me of not being right upstairs ? Lol !
  20. It helps keep the front wheels on the pavement ! Virgil is known to have a lead foot and a tendency to dump the clutch in first gear !
  21. Mr Geiger , I wasn't hacking on you ! Lol ! I was thinking more along the lines of my Silverado pickup or the Mustang . Open the doors on the truck , there are the gaskets , same goes for the trunk on the Mustang . You do have a valid point with the depth behind the door lines . My reply was more of a tongue in cheek of sorts and I should have presented it in a better way ! My apologies ! I was thinking of this very subject two weeks ago while sitting on the side steps of the shop . The Mustang was sitting in the drive way in the same position as your Tracker was in your photo . Panel lines definitely and prominently present themselves as being black !
  22. Hmmmmmn , could this possibly be because all of the gaskets on the trunks , doors , etc , are all black ? Excuse my Half Heimerd state of mind , but every vehicle I ever owned , to my recall , had black gaskets . As has been suggested , scribe the panel lines a bit deeper and use a Rapidoliner pen or thin point India ink marker to blacken them in to represent the gaskets . The thinner and finer the pen point , the better !
  23. Attila , You state that you don't have that much money , and as I stated in response to your email , I don't have that much time . It would take weeks to do this ! The Tips DVDs alone have 4 hours of constant dialogue on them . There were no cue cards or text involved in the making of the DVDs , they were all done free speak style . Each segment has it's products laid out and the camera is constantly over my right shoulder as I work throughout the DVDs . Simply by observing the DVDs without sound enables you to perform the tasks at hand without it .
