How to wash your car

Between this and the Twinkies thread, we know where Bill's tastes lie! Charlie Larkin -
I love the color. The transparent blue and the pearl and gloss-coat add tremendous depth to the color. Very nice job overall. Charlie Larkin

That convertible is especially nice. I never think too much of black and blue together, but that shade of blue goes nicely, and I can imagine that a white top with that would look very sharp indeed. Charlie Larkin

Nice job, Sam. Charlie Larkin

No pictures, but a new thermostat in my car. When I went to get the screws out of the casing, they were galled- badly, and examination of them and the part revealed that it may well have been the factory thermostat. So I'd say after nineteen years, it was probably about due. Let's see if that fixes some of the weird running problems. Charlie Larkin

You survived a week on the Cape in July and you still think we're good drivers?! That's when the Cape and its traffic is at its absolute worst. Our roads aren't as good as they used to be, actually, although several large stretches of highway are finally getting repaved. I hope you enjoyed your visit, and do come back. I've never been to Canada save one overnight to Montreal when I was 13- somehow my parents managed to pick a Saturday when the whole city- stores, museums, everything, were closed. I would like to try again, but first I need enough money for a passport and to travel. Charlie Larkin -
That did come out very nicely. The color looks good on it. Charlie Larkin

Very nice work, Anthony. I would suggest working a little on your striping. Try laying down some painter's tape, and using a compass and/or circle template, mark out your propsed radii, cut off the tape covering where you want to paint and lay your paint down. You'll have a smoother stripe and more even corner. You've got a good eye and excellent skills. Trying that will help you. If you can make it up to our next meeting, we have plenty of guys that can help you with that. Bring that model, too. I'm sure everyone will enjoy seeing it. Charlie Larkin

My 200 needed an oil change,

That Viper might be less expensive than some women... Man, that thing looks like all business. If one of these sweepstakes/lotteries I enter periodically ever hit, I would be seriously tempted. Charlie Larkin -
Wood Grain Decals " Woody " specially

That '41 is a "quick affair?" I couldn't get it that good if I took a week on each panel! Oh, wait, with my speed of building...but I digress. Great job and those decals look super. Can they be ordered in the U.S. yet? Charlie Larkin -
Russian dash-cams

I have a lot of friends from Soviet Armenia and many friends in the Armenian community who grew up in or lived in Russia and the Ukraine. While alcohol consumption there is indeed quite high (I'm looked at very strangely as an Armenian who doesn't really drink- even for the ones born here like myself), and the reports I have heard of the rates of drunkenness over there is astounding. Alcoholism is a major problem there, as Skip noted, and people I know have seen first-hand. Also, note that 9 of the top 10 countries in Skip's list are either ex-Soviet states or Eastern Bloc nations. I rest my case based on emperical evidence. Charlie Larkin -
I wonder if they heard enough carping that they decided to add a Flathead and make sure the suspension was at stock (or fairly close) height? One can hope. Charlie Larkin

Beautiful original Kodachrome or Veri-Chrome. For color saturation and appearance, very little, digital or film, comes truly close. Great picture. Charlie Larkin

Given some of my potential business interests (this contest is open to companies, too), I'm seriously toying with giving this a whirl for next year. We'll see what happens. Proto-Mold, from their reputation, is an excellent company to deal with, so production would also be done well. Thanks for finding this, Bill. Charlie Larkin

How to wash your car

Neat picture. I wonder how you could replicate the water/soap on a car? Charlie Larkin -
All I can say is... 1. Nobody had ever better complain about Boston drivers again! 2. Gvien the rate of alcoholism in Russia (very high), I wonder how many of those people were blitzed? 3. I noticed a lot of the pedestrians were none too smart, either. Were they also drunk? 4. Now I know why all the pretty Russian girls want to come here to find husbands- it's a matter of survival! Even without exact dimensions and lots of educated guesses, this model is off to a spectacular start. How do you like working with the Magic Brik so far? I'll look forward to more updates. Charlie Larkin

An interesting concept; in a way, I'm a little surprised Dodge didn't try something like this. Clean execution, quite eye-catching. Charlie Larkin

On all these boards, I've seen SO many dissuasions to marriage, and this is one more! That came out beautifully, Al. Very pretty car, despite it not being quite what you had in mind. As for your wife, swap the MKZ for a Fusion (more or less the same car) and see if she actually notices, then we'll see just how Point A to Point B she is. Charlie Larkin

Nice job, Jeff. I hope you're planning on bringing that to Classic Plastic and MassCar. Charlie Larkin

Russel, what scale is that car you're working on? And what is it? Charlie Larkin
