  1. Looks great, Jared. Too bad they didn't supply a second dash for LHD applications. Charlie Larkin
  2. I'll buy one of those, too. I like the 1980-'89 Cadillacs. They still looked like Cadillacs unlike these things they have now. Charlie Larkin
  3. I don't know what you're on Christian, but it's good medicine! I like your picks. I'm taking them all into consideration.... Charlie Larkin
  4. Lane, that taxi is a Checker Marathon. They were made from 1959-'82, when Checker went out of business. About 90% of their production went to taxi use. Some people bought them as private cars. Charlie Larkin See http://www.checkertaxistand.com/
  5. Nice job on this, Mike. I like that green on it. Charlie Larkin
  6. It's a pleasure watching your builds come together, Geoff. Charlie Larkin
  7. Samsonite and a couple of other companies make small folding tables (about 18x24) that i use for right now, and it works well. As to the supplies...a couple of toolboxes, and a large jar to keep your paint-brushes in work well. Charlie Larkin
  8. Such a nicely-done very mild custom....de-trim and a really cool grille. Great job, Bob. Charlie Larkin
  9. I see more good visions coming here....I really like the idea of that diner. Charlie Larkin
  10. Nice save! Charlie Larkin
  11. All your questions will be answered here. http://www.oldcarbro...t/dirindex.html My grandmother had a '74 in soft yellow with a white vinyl top and gold interior. Pretty car. Some of the Model Master Earth-tones, mixed with yellow and white, will get you into that general ballpark. This is about the color of the interior in Gram's car. Charlie Larkin
  12. Hi, Mike. That explained why I couldn't place that cruiser scheme. I knew it looked very familiar, but couldn't remember why, and I was pretty sure it wasn't Braintree. When I was younger (mid-1990s,) I was down in Weymouth quite a bit visiting South Shore DeMolay, and a few of the guys lived in Braintree, and to get to Broad St., I just went up Rt. 18 because that was the only way I could ever find my way in/out, and I didn't remember Braintree's cars looking like that, but could've been wrong. Hopefully we'll see you a week from Sunday. Charlie Larkin
  13. Nice job on that. I wonder how tough it would be to make a Cutlass Supreme, perhaps using the Monte Carlo roof as a start? Charlie Larkin
  14. Daytonas are very rarely seen around here anymore, and it's too bad. I always thought those were a neat little car. I'll keep an eye on this one. Charlie Larkin
  15. Not a bad job overall, even with the couple of goobers in the interior. It's all part of learning how to do the model properly, Liam. Just remember that. Charlie Larkin
  16. Drool-rific! Resin guys....Windsor hardtops anyone? Or maybe a nice 4-door sedan? No matter, I'm buying at least two or three of these as budget permits. Absolutely astounding. Charlie Larkin

Wow. Beautifully executed. The color works well, too. It's nice to see something besides black, red, white or pink. Charlie Larkin
  18. I like your dreams very, very much, Christian. Charlie Larkin
  19. All of these things, for me, are to some extent true. Vision...imagination...the satisfaction of creating something. The pleasure of building something that I like. Being able to build a car that I might be too young to have driven when new...and "order it" the way I'd like it...colors, trim, options. Having a shelf-full of cars...that look like cars, as opposed to the junk we have now. This is where I draw my pleasure; my realizations, my extensions of me, something that all our models are. Charlie Larkin
  20. Too bad Ford didn't make a convertible from the factory, it works very nicely. Great job on that. Charlie Larkin
  21. Please bring this to MassCar on March 18 if you can make it. What city/town were you in? Charlie Larkin
  22. Very nicely done. Charlie Larkin
  23. How unfortunate. I'm doing everything possible to make sure I make it to NNL-East, Terry, so if you'll be there, keep an eye open for me. Charlie Larkin
  24. I have similar recurring dreams with Ford Country Squires, 1977-90 full-size Chevys, and 1949-'52 Chrysler products. Mostly, though, I dream of having my own manufacturing company. I'm slowly working on making that a reality. Charlie Larkin
  25. As we discussed, Nick, as sad as it may be, this is all part of growing up. I'm very sorry for your loss and hope you take comfort in that those who are your friends here are here for you if you need us, and that it's quite obvious your aunt cared for you a great deal. As to those models, you've already started to clean them up, not a bad idea, just be very careful of that truck, as a lot of cleaners, even mild soaps, can attack the printing. As to value- considering their source and the family attachment- priceless. Charlie Larkin
