  1. Very nice, Sam. The yellow/black looks nice on that. Charlie Larkin
  2. Nice job on that. Charlie Larkin
  3. And The French Connection is one of my favorite movies, I'll have to add the sequel to my watch list. Charlie Larkin
  4. Absolutely correct. Both Jeff and Kevin make some of the best resin in the business, and two nicer guys you'll never meet. I also had the opportunity to meet Kris Morgan, also a very nice fellow, and his distributors are as good as claimed. A whole bunch are on my "get" list. Charlie Larkin
  5. Wow! That finish is incredibly nice. Charlie Larkin
  6. Nice conversion, Bruce. The colors look good, too. Charlie Larkin
  7. Second both comments. Charlie Larkin
  8. Absolutely stunning model. Beautiful lines and a nice overall execution. Charlie Larkin
  9. The missing wheelcover look is cool. Very nice build; I'll definitely be grabbing one of those. Charlie Larkin
  10. I'll second Mike's comments. Our Clebrity and Cutlass Cruiser were both very good on gas, the Celebrity with the 173/2.8 and a 3100 in the Cruiser. The Celebrity regularly got 32-33 miles a gallon on the highway; the Olds was about the same. As to the efficiency increase with mileage, it sounds like a take on the old-fashioned Knight Sleeve Valve engine, in which as the carbon deposits increased, the engine's compression, and as a result, its gas economy. Whether it worked well or not is a matter of debate. Charlie Larkin
  11. Okay, so we have operator error. As a graphics professional, Harry, do you feel the training for this equipment is really up-to-snuff? I ask because of the issues we've seen again and again. If not, what would you do differently based on observed trends for training in the business? Charlie Larkin
  12. No, Plasti-Kote is lacquer. I've used Plasti-Kote for a very long time and have always been quite pleased. I recently tried the white primer for the first time, and I was shocked. It went on so smoothly, I almost didn't have to sand it. Plasti-Kote can be found at CarQuest stores, and other auto parts stores from time to time. Depending on your store's pricing policy, a can runs $6-10. Charlie Larkin
  13. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? I agree with most of us here, Rob. I would say go for it. Regardless of valve position, the flathead block is the qualifying factor, and the Ardun heads are a recognized and accepted aftermarket accessory for the Flathead V8. Charlie Larkin
  14. The locomotive smoke unit is a good idea. Might be worth investigating. I am curious- where did you find a late-model Grand Am? Coming out nicely. Charlie Larkin
  15. Very neat concept and a nicely-executed concept. What did you construct the building walls from? It appears to be corrugated plastic or cardboard? Charlie Larkin
  16. Actually, that's a good idea. Perhaps a side-by-side comparo would be a very effective at revealing the shortcomings, real or imagined. Great job on this build. Charlie Larkin
  17. Some very nice builds here. David- how did you cobble up that late '80s hearse? It came out very nicely. Charlie Larkin
  18. I like the wheels. Nice color, too. What is it? Charlie Larkin
  19. Suppose I'll toss mine in, too. This is the AMT '32 Model B Roadster with the 4-cylinder engine. Paint is Model Master Light Ivory with Sand Beige fenders and accents. This one is important to me. The first model I've been able to actually get completed since high school. Charlie Larkin
  20. First, Rob, we need some sun around here! Nice work on that. Charlie Larkin
  21. Thank you, Worshipful, for this guidance. What a great resource! Charlie Larkin
  22. At least in Ford parlance, "XL" stood for "eXtra Lively." That Lonestar Harley Edition is a pretty sharp truck. I think the Lonestar is a sharp truck, anyway. Charlie Larkin Please, Harry, you'll insult the toasters by lowering them to that level! Great picture, though. Charlie Larkin
  23. As the pundit of my friends.... Quite frankly, you're more qualified than the current occupant and most of the proposed contenders. If your creativity in the Lab-RAT-tory could be translated successfully into policy action, this country could seriously be a better place. Perhaps you should give it thought- seriously. I know the Libertarian Party is seeking candidates for 2012. Charlie Larkin Maybe Ed should be his running mate?? Just sayin'... Charlie Larkin
