  1. Yet he still “sells” on eBay. If he does that to someone that’s written tons of articles about builds, he’d do worse to us normals. And he does. Wish someone did decent versions of some of the stuff he’s butchered. Cobra sunburst alloys for one.
  2. Nice, I have this and the Bond car. Snake found it, Gary grabbed the new Motormax I think and posted recently. 3 colors I’ve seen, Bond version does not have much for features. Paint on these DMs are gorgeous.
  3. Starlift was an end run for NASCAR to get fastback onto Fords. Boxtops not fast enough, Starliner gone in 61. Clever “removable” hardtop would have helped until 63.5 fastbacks arrived 62 Boxtop may exist, made it thru until late 60’s iirc. 61 Boxtop did too, never expected that.
  4. Iirc yes. Gauges were in a group of 5, a separate wheel bezel included. I don’t have directions handy but it’d be easy. Had provision for separate tach on top of dash area.
  5. “Close” relative term. Close but no cigar. Never a 39-40 5W fan. Merc, otoh, killer. That rebuild of the convert is stellar though. Wow.
  6. Free ads. Post up ad with pictures of those sweet castings with throwaway id. Similar wording stating bought them from another vendor?
  7. The link to the 39 and 40’s I posted has backstories to the cars. Many were taken to Barris and had help from Sam, George was shop foreman at one shop, then started his own. The owners would take them over, learn and work on the cars themselves, with the Barris brothers teaching them. Not a “send it to shop get it back done” deal. Kids drove them partly done, in primer, fun stuff. I’ve got a resin Ayala Merc (Don H) and a Matranga (unknown, but killer). Dead stock Merc coupes cool, Convertible sedans too. I’ve got AAM CS, but I’ve never seen a stock 39-40 coupe in scale.
  8. That’s unkind to 5yo’s. 😵‍💫🤣They can draw round better than that.
  9. Here kids. Lots to look at. Great site if you’ve not seen. Rik Hoving part of this iirc. https://kustomrama.com/wiki/1939_Mercury https://kustomrama.com/wiki/1940_Mercury
  10. Bill, that’s a dead stock 39 Merc coupe grille. Dump the lakes and trunk hump, change steering wheel and put interesting dash in it. Front bumper cool, unsure if period. Unless Sam did it, prob better off not 😱🤔😂
  11. The 67/68 can be fiddly to get nice stance. Nice detail, just different. 65-68 had fairly different chassis, then 69 reverted to 64 style. 67-69 T-Birds seemed easier to get low stances.
  12. That a rec area on a boat? People free is good👍🏼
  13. Is roof clear, or just black plastic? I’d like to paint it to look more like Z30
  14. 62 Ford Sunliner with a Starlift top would be fine. 67-68’s had weird chassis, so promo maybe better? I’ve not seen either promo up close, don’t know if they had decent chassis or not.
  15. There’s a 1/24 Hughes 500 out there. I’ve got one for same reason. Idea and Hobbycraft did it. Nichimo has 1/20. There’s a civi and military version. Of course I have both 🤦🏻‍♂️
  16. I saw that, thought it was bowl of pretzel goldfish. Lol. It’s even funnier with cat food. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣
  17. Geez, Mark. Can’t someone post in wrong thread, then blame us? 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣. Snowflakes.
  18. Clambake with Elvis had a couple hulls with sponsons as competitor’s boats. Elvis’ hull was a Mandela hull iirc. Unsure if I have will to watch movie again, but they’re in there. I’m pretty sure pickle-fork boats were a further development of sponsons. Other than the engine, these boats were light, didn’t draw much, so I’d think they’d float off trailer fine. Later unlimited hydros like Miss Budweiser were a lot bigger, and transported by a tilted to the side cradle.
  19. Side cutters! Nut bigger than a knockoff. Guy needs to get some RR nuts, and some tools from the 40 pickup. Lol. Fun diversion. I’ve got thousands of posts on Ferrarichat in Guess the car thread. Mark here knows more than I, but FLFC (funny little foreign cars) are my thing. Interesting that I think the Lotus is a 1/18, I’ve not seen an Elise in 1/24.
  20. It’s a 4-cam 12, GTO’s didn’t have those. Narrow V, no hole in sump, and an automatic it looks like, DCT’s don’t have pan like that. 550/575 had transaxles, so they’re out. 612 I pulled instructions on scalemates, not that. Has to be Tamiya AMG Mercedes 600 SEC coupe.
  21. Turn him in to postal inspector, eBay for fraud. Threads in here about this clown for decades. Calls people up and swears at them, etc. Don’t waste your money. Send product or send money back. Product ain’t coming.
  22. Agree. It takes awhile, so just take care of yourself too. Sorry.
