  1. Gary, that mean you’re a stuffy old man?? I resemble that remark.
  2. You can still get those Cal plates, as well as gold on black or gold on blue. I always liked those plates. Looks like nice kit.
  3. Cool. More unstarted kits, no block halves to glue together. ? Truly hope it works for them, in real life, new cars rarely need to have looks under the hood.
  4. I think changing pipes would make huge diff. Pull the eye down and back, so everything else loses”height”. Really love the disc covers. Fernando Pinto makes some hand laced wires that may fit, I’m unsure. I have the Gurney-Nutting SJ resin. Someone did PE wires for Duesies but I never got any, can’t recall who did them. Fun model and thread. Thank you.
  5. Google Unreliiable resins. Just no. +1 on Hurst.
  6. Just contest payment and get $ back via however you paid it. You may not if you wait too long. Patience is a virtue easily taken advantage of.
  7. I’m really tired of greys, blacks, matte paint. I can’t have red as I drive fast, but I’m ordering paint to sample wagon in something interesting.
  8. That’s not gonna buff out. You’re lucky you’re not dead. Headless would be hard to model. You’re not dead until you stop living. Go for it.
  9. Or trade it here/locally. Buy for 18, pull decals, sell for 12. 1/2 price decals. Arbitrage.
  10. @1972coronet I think the original 72 AMT was converted back to a 70 at one point, ages ago, then converted back to a 72, that’s not quite as good. Mark knows, but that is story I recall. Here, Don Sikora ll comment
  11. Love the GN SJ. A favorite. Tom showed it a ton, and it never won. Bugged him. Here’s his ex-Campbell Corsica 57SC. Had 16k miles on it, was unrestored. Just amazing. Here’s pic stolen off web. Why this never modeled I have no clue. Sorry for tangent, but never again a collection like Tom’s.
  12. Nice work. Tom Perkins had it quite a few years prior to RL. He had collection of supercharged 8 cyl pre war sports cars. He also had Bugatti Atlantique RL bought and overrestored ?. I’m unsure if RL bought the 500K special roadster Tom had, or the amazing 2900B. His Squire has disappeared as has his Bugatti 55. His favorite 57SC was the ex-Malcomb Campbell car, he kept that for awhile. Multiple Pebble Beach winners. Pretty amazing to wander in the shop.
  13. Great builds. You got this. Work hard on therapy, give them details about where you want to be, both PT and doc. If not your fault, call attorney. A good one, ask around. TV ads ain’t the best way. Good luck. Kick some @ss.
  14. Merc convert. behind Nova scarce, looks like 71-72
  15. Started in 80’s with tax break on deductions for vehicles with GVW over maybe 5500-6000#. So lots of people bought trucks, SUVs, big stuff to take advantage. Caddy, Lincoln,Lexus, etc all made luxury SUVs, and trucks got fancy. That became status symbol, so lots of people wanted them. Then, people wanted to “feel superior” on roads, so more sales. Bigger profit, but market drove it.
  16. UPC label on box if needed I’d think
  17. Maybelline had a Caddy. Chuck Berry was in a Flattie. I thought. Ran hot until it rained. A Fave song.
  18. @Dave VanAny idea about the vast pile of TD stuff? Badman obvs still RM, but the rest? TD seems done with them.
  19. And their hairdresser. Lol. Ancient obtuse joke. Who knew?
  20. Me too, less years than Dave, but great bunch of builders. History, and huge gallery of obscure and “common” builds. Nothing really common in showrods for ages, better now, but TD and Revell-G handbag fight may have killed a lot of epic kits. Guest Gallery for the rest of you readers http://www.showrods.com/home_page_links/gallery.html
  21. Lindberg owned by R2. Stuff Atlantis bought is old Revell-Monogram stuff, not R2. Wrong tree, sry
  22. German R only, not for us yet?
  23. If he was a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, that’d be a miracle. ?
