  1. Thanks very much for all the comments, they are much appreciated. About attaching the windscreen: I drilled holes on either side at its base and into the body to accept wire "bolts", which I later glued in place. These can be seen in the photos. I then thinned the frame down and had it re-chromed professionally.
  2. That looks fantastic. I also love the standard look without white wall tyres etc.
  3. Many a moon since I last finished a model but I haven't been completely idle. The XK 120 came out about the same time I did and it is still my all-time favourite car design. The kit has its pros and cons but, as you can see, it captures the basic shape really well. I've built it curbside but there is an acceptable engine. I didn't like the kit's wheels and tyres so I used the inner wheels from a Monogram 58 T/Bird, modified to accept the kit's hub caps, and the tyres from a Revell 37 Ford pickup. The windscreen and its glass were tricky to get right. I thinned down the frame a bit and had it (and the other chrome parts) re-chromed. Paint is Tamiya black from a can with Tamiya Purple Red acrylic from a bottle for the interior. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

    Foose '48 Caddy

    Very nice.
  5. I have this very nice 1.43rd model from Vanguards, UK: Hosted on Fotki
  6. Beautifully done.
  7. Good move, Steve. It was already a beautiful model but it has now "graduated" from mild custom to showroom stock. I'm performing the same surgery on Revell's Jag XK 120 at the moment. It was finished and ready to show but I decided it sat too low.
  8. Excellent!
  9. Wonderful!
  10. Beautiful! The extra work on the roof and interior really paid off.
  11. Looks really nice from here.
  12. Nice!
  13. Unique and fantastic models!
  14. I love 60s Pontiacs, specially the '67, and you've done a great job on this.

    Lotus 23

Really nice! Back when racing cars were beautiful.
  16. I totally agree with your "stock is best" credo - but by keeping it simple and slick you've made a great looking custom. The interior is the icing on the cake.
  17. That looks just right - and the windscreen is perfect!
  18. Looks great and I love the colour. Like Tom (above) I was slightly appalled at the front treatment on the 70 - compared to its predecessors - but it has since grown on me and it's good to have at least one affordable big Pontiac convertible in plastic.
  19. Looks great from here!
  20. I'm about to try selling some of my built models. I certainly wouldn't use the term "professionally built" when describing them but they've all been well received on this site. Nor would I expect anything like the $$$ achieved by people like Paul Hettick. My main concern is how to package them so that they arrive in one piece - I could see that aspect being the major stumbling block. Can anyone who has done this comment on their experiences with packaging/postage?
