  1. I also found one of these last year, same colour too. I have a bunch of Johan Ramblers and they all appear to be 1.24th scale.
  2. Beautifully done Geoff and looks VERY realistic in that light - like it's sitting in a showroom.
  3. Harry, we've never met but I feel for you and your predicament as a friend would and often wonder how you're getting on. Glad to hear you're back home at least but I know from experience that chemo can be very difficult and your financial concerns must be very worrying on top of it all. Wishing you all the strength you need to get through this.
  4. I have this one and I think it's one of the best in my 1/43 collection. Not being an expert, I can't really vouch for its accuracy but it looks right to me. Certainly a high degree of quality and detail for your buck. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NzQ0WDExNzA=/z/zJYAAOSwzgRWuD9A/$_1.JPG
  5. Very nice - difficult to get this kit to look this good.
  6. Steve, another beautiful model from your garage. Having built the hardtop a couple of years back, I can really appreciate the improvements you made - specially to the interior and engine bay. All the best for the remainder of the year.
  7. The canvas top is the perfect addition and you did a splendid job. Happy New Year and looking forward to your 2017 posts.
  8. Looks fantastic!
  9. Who'd have thought you'd ever see a model of this. Very nicely done, and I like the Plain-Jane look. I've also come to appreciate the grey and beige colours of earlier decades. Nice score.
  10. I also thought the first photo was your 1:1 reference. Excellent work!
  11. Very nice, love that colour.
  12. Excellent - model and photography.
  13. Beautifully detailed and finished models. I specially like the '36 Ford - it has always been a favourite design and I don't recall ever seeing a nicer model of one. All the best for 2017.
  14. Excellent! I hope I can do the wood that well when I build mine.

    My 3 for 2016.

I agree with espo, totally unrelated subjects but all look great.
  16. Three is a big number when the models are so beautifully built. Three of the year's best IMHO.

    Jaguar XJS

As a Jag fan I've often wondered about this kit but have never seen one built before. The Hasegawa kits are certainly superior but nevertheless you've built a fine looking model there.
  18. Thanks so much Gary and Bob. A couple of mods I didn't mention in my original post: The tailgate window and its chrome-plated frame were never going to do. I ditched the poorly molded glass entirely and spent a lot of time filing and sanding the frame until it fit nicely. I glued it in place (it would open and close if built as intended), foiled it and made new glass from clear acetate. The red plastic tail-lights, although accurately detailed, just wouldn't sit properly in their chrome frames. But there were custom red lenses also included in the kit and I altered these to fit the frames. I then added a small strip of foil at the bottom of each lens to represent the backing lights. I probably spent over half the build time on these mods and getting the interior and side glass to fit nicely.
  19. ...but those three were absolutely beautiful and among my favourites of the year. Don't hurry that 300H! Tulio, thanks a lot - means a lot coming from you. (But I'm not American.) Thanks so much for all your comments guys, very much appreciated. All the best for the coming year.
  20. Great looking model, I really like it. And it's good to have some company in the not-so-productive corner - I also only finished one.
  21. I liked the original too - but you did a great job and now have a unique model.
  22. Re the Tamiya scriber: I find the handle a little cumbersome and often use the blade without it. It's easier to get round corners etc.
