  1. Thanks Steve, I was going to ask about aceton. I'll try first with the purple stuff I bought ages ago, I think from Scale Finishes. This has worked for most paints I've tried. As I said above, I won't be trying to preserve the lower body paint as I intend a full repaint.
  2. Thanks Christopher, Andy and Mark for your ideas. Since I intend to repaint, foil and detail the promo, I will be soaking all the paint off, re-plating the chrome and starting from scratch as if it were a kit. I just hope all that white (probably Testors enamel) will do the right thing and disappear. Here's a promo I re-did a couple of years ago:
  3. I agree with all of the above - a very beautiful model and your detailing and improvements to the kit are all spot-on.
  4. This 69 Pontiac arrived from USA today. I was pleased to get it at a (fairly) affordable price but a bit disappointed to discover the roof has been very thickly brush painted. (It looked to me like a factory coat in the auction photos.) Just hope it comes off with the normal methods. I LOVE 60s Ponchos and keep telling myself that I have enough of them - but myself doesn't seem to hear.
  5. Beautifully done, as always! The 507 has a light-weight, slender look which I personally prefer to the 300SL. I saw one in Winterthur a couple of years ago, a dream in white!
  6. I love it!!!
  7. Extraordinary model for a 14 year-old! Most adults can't paint and foil that well. This was definitely a taste of things to come!
  8. Simply beautiful! Outstanding paint and foil.
  9. Beautiful job, doesn't look at all rushed! Don't know how you get Tamiya sprays to shine like that without polishing.

    Delage D8 SS

I love it! The Heller classics certainly aren't shake'n'bake but, as you've shown, they can produce a great result. (They respond well to French swear words.)
  11. Yesterday I heard a short interview with Jack Black, who was in Zürich to promote his new film. The interviewer complimented him on something and Jack answered with, "Danke". Interviewer: "Ah, you speak German?" Jack: "Just the one word." Interviewer: "A very important word though. Not that many German speakers know it."
  12. My thoughts exactly. Both of you keep coming up with beautiful and unique models.
  13. Very tasty!
  14. Exactly what I thought.

    ´55 Chevy

    Very nice! Great photos too.
  16. My first thought was also that this was simply the kit assembled. But the complexity of the kit and the fact that it's being offered for as low as $124 made me wonder. Also, opening doors are mentioned in the link but not an engine or opening hood; would they not mention that in an advertisement? I'd still like to hear from someone who actually has one - but I've now noticed that delivery won't be before Feb 18.
  17. BTW Apparently 1.24th and available in silver too.
  18. Has anybody got one of these yet? I'm wondering if it's plastic or diecast, does the hood open etc. Can anybody do a review with pics? https://www.tamiyausa.com/items/plastic-model-series-20/masterwork-collection-series-6500/mercedes-benz-300-sl-(white)-21152
  19. That came out fantastic!
  20. Brad, I'm amazed by your beautifully clean, precise and realistic scratch-building.
  21. Absolutely beautiful! To me your rods and customs always display a perfect blend of outstanding craftsmanship and good taste.
  22. Excellent!!!
