  1. Great job. Love the mid-year Vettes.
  2. Love the Ford GT MK II's
  3. Thanks for this tip. I need to bend the rear window trim like you did the above trim. I tried it and it will be the solution for the rear trim.
  4. Thanks Charles. I will try that. I have to redo the strips since one is not straight and the other I missed the line up with the tape on the side.
  5. I tried the Plastruct but it didn't really soften the plastic like I thought it would.
  6. Charles if you scroll up a couple of posts you can see the picture with the trim. Basically I am putting the trim across the roof and down the sides of the window area. While the rear piece is straight down the front piece has a angle to it.
  7. No worries. I should have supplied the pic when I originally posted the question. But lots of good discussion on this subject.
  8. Thanks guys for all of the input. The heated plates are nice. What I did with some success is to put the ca on the .040 flat side 1/2 round. Then stick it to the straight roof of the body. After the glue was dry I slowly used a thin wire to add more ca as I bent the rod around the roof to the side then cut it of. Here are some of the results.
  9. Thanks I will let you know. I just got back home from the hobby shop. I will be trying the solvent glue in the next couple of hours.
  10. That's what I did with the 1st strip. I had it fully taped down when I added the super thin CA glue. It broke at the curves. I was just going to use the solvent to soften the 1/2 round to make it conform then use the CA to glue it in place.
  11. That sounds like a good idea. I will try that and see what happens.
  12. The problem is I need to use 1/2 round and the curve has to follow the body. What I might so is tape it to the resin body then use the solvent glue to break the bend tension.
  13. That is my next step. I just have to go to the Hobby Shop to get the solvent glue.
  14. Its a near 90 degree curve. I may try taping it again then use a hair dryer to break the tension. I tried some direct heat from my torch but it was too hard to control the amount of heat on the area.
  15. My liquid cement dried up and I didn't have any MEK at the house. So I think I will make a trip to the Hobby Shop tomorrow.
  16. I am attaching to a resin body. I tried it with the thin CA glue but the plastic strips broke when putting the glue on them. Not sure what caused that. I had the strip held in place with tape.
  17. I need to bend some plastic for trim curves over a roof. My solvent based glue has dried and become too thick. I think MEK would work but I don;t have any of that. Any other suggestions?
  18. Interesting. I look forward to the first review of this kit.
  19. Great Build!
  20. Got mine in Dallas, TX today
  21. I bet we get the C8R 1st (maybe only) because they race it in the WEC/LeMans in Europe.
