  1. I don't know that I would read to far into that, I think most of the projector lamp vehicles put that lamp flood out. The way the buckets are chiseled makes for a pretty sharp pattern. It's pretty cool though, my wife's grand Cherokee does something similar. Have you seen the next generation 200 yet? It got a five minute standing o in Vegas this weekend at the launch meeting.
  2. That's cool !!! That have the strangest Xmas decorations
  3. I love a great build Lee, but I'm not a big NASCAR fan, so I dont really get over there much..but thats a different story. I dont know that I've had more then a handfull of anything for anything of mine. thats how she goes. This is a very popular place, and some posts will run to the second page pretty quick.
  4. I've got a few revell snap kits I think would make cool slot cars. Doe anyone know of a 1/32 scale chassis kit? Has anyone used these body's for slot cars?
  5. Aparently You guys both forgot rule #1 for fight club
  6. Keep on trucking man !!! If the water gets boring, sometimes you gota make your own waves.
  7. I agree with both to a degree, but I dont think its that black and white I guess it depends on where your at, I wouldnt see an electronic ignition being counted as " factory original" in a restoration, But I wouldnt argue it being restored, but I would hardly count that as custom either ? I know the custom definition was beaten to death here already, as well as the restoration definition will be. I know guys that are more then happy to call a car restored when done thats been painted red, beacuse it was red from the factory. But for everyone of those guys, there are 3 to tell him its the wrong shade and code of red. Heres another one for you, Would you concider your restoration a car you built, or asembled? You did'nt manufature the parts right?
  8. Not picking anything apart, it was just an observation. That thing is Awesome !!!
  9. Not totaly true Harry, or Brian. Your truck was brought back to a working condition, its been restored for operation. It doesnt have to be an "Original, Factory" condition.
  10. I'm not suggesting any change, but what gets me is that things were seperated, but not given equal pavement on the board. There is no "bench" or "glass" for anything but the cars section. I think at least the trucks should have had one of each ( I agree with the pick up comment ) , or the work bench be moved to the community section for everyone to post what try are currently working on, and then place the Di ished product in it appropriate place ( trucks, drag, cars, dios... Etc ) this is my personal opinion, but I wonder sometimes why the large scale was seperated at all, I'm sure there were some that wanted it, but I think the scale of the subject shouldn't make much difference where it's at as much as the subject matter itself. I do feel the moderators have been doing a good job at what they have been informed to do. I've seen a lot of really obviouse posting in the wrong spot, that find there home rather quick. Keep up the good work guys !!
  11. So, both cars are basket cases, you can tub them both and big block them for the same investment, but to build a factory spec Z-28 you would have a substancial more to invest, to only come out breakig even, Right? I love questions like these, it really makes someone think about why we do things. If your building something to sell someday, then I guess you have to build it to meet the largest customer base you can, if its for you, then you better know what you want, unless you like doing things over and over such as myself...lol
  12. My car, my way .. the finish line ? Why? Just as much fun I'm sure, and for probly a third of the cost of the factory motor. Just giving you a hard time, I think its cool to see people do things their way, but its also cool to see people stretch what the OEM did to the limits.
  13. That brings up another thing, I always see these articles about "street driven ****hp" but they never have bald tires, what gives?
  14. I thought the same thing Kevin, But it doesnt look like the axle breaks the reflection. Not that I think it makes any difference of the car itself, It just caught my eye right off the bat. My favorite are the cars on the cover with the head lamp going in two different directions.
  15. I just got the new HRM In the mail this weekend, absolutely fabulouse willys coupe on the cover and a couple page spread. I couldn't help but notice the chrome oil pan is stained from a possible front crank seal or the chrome pan itself. Now to me it says "I'm worked, because I work !!" But if it was yours, would it leak in a magazine spread? I'm torn both ways.
  16. There has to be so much chemical in his body, I hope the skip the candles this year. He was from the generation of true craftsmen, the kind that any kid should have in their life. Be it in person or an article in a magazine. Something to make you go, "you can really do that???"
  17. Man, that's the best use of that grill I've ever seen !!
  18. Home, no. Vehicles yes. I can only imagine it leaves the same hole in your heart only bigger !!! That really sucks man. Things are getting bad everywhere. I wish you the best of luck finding your things and hope you can get through it ok.
  19. I have to grow old, but I don't have to grow up. My old age (32) has gifted me with more patience and restraints, but I have too much "grown" up stuff to deal with as it is, this doesnt need to be part of it. Let it treat you like a kid still, enjoy it.
  20. That's a European engine correct ? So stuff it in an American rod, the metric to standard conversion should wash out in the end...
  21. Are these the ho? I have a large lay out, but a buddy has a snap on funny car set. Looks really cool.
  22. I stand corrected, I guess I have my head warped around something being shrunk down, not whittled down. And maybe they are the ssme .... But you guys gota quit using all these fancy terms like grams and ounces
