  1. I am so building one of these!!!!!!! Yours looks so great dude..... Thank You for sharing..... Bob
  2. Truly impressive with all the thinning and prep work. This is one to watch and the end result is going to be a show stopper I'm certain. Bob
  3. I think this is the coolest car I've seen in some time. It has a Joe Satriani vibe going on which I dig. Satch is a Lamborghini fan I think. As an artist, I have tremendous admiration for your patience in doing this. Bob
  4. I'm going to pick a couple of those up. I remember when they came out in the 80's. I was sure they'd be tricky kits. Monogram decals of that era are not the best. Looks like you got around all the kits foibles to create a great finished model. Looks like it's Millah Time! Bob
  5. Repeated exposure [covered here] is indeed the problem with MC. Also, no matter where it's absorbed, it gets processed by the liver. In time liver failure is the result as well as other complications. Bob
  6. This is super nice. I am watching. Bob
  7. Gorgeous all! I would argue it's the quality not quantity. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Very nice indeed sir. Bob
  8. Killer build John. It's begging for a set of PE rims. Bob
  9. This really speaks to me John. Where did the body come from......etc? While it's a known car I've never seen one in scale. Resin stuff? Inquiring minds and all. Bob
  10. I have an Accurate Miniatures M8B around here somewhere. This looks to be a good kit. I'll be watching the resurrection Curt. Perhaps I'll start the AM version. I heard they are a challenge. This one looks a tad simpler. Get going....... Bob
  11. Striking color. Never saw one in real life this color. That took some sack to order it that way. Bob
  12. Smart looking build there. Green is a great color for these machines. Bob
  13. They all look good. I hope the New Year finds you building even more. Bob
  14. I actually built more than I thought in 2009. I'm not as prolific as some, but perhaps more so than others. I guess when you can put all your builds on the coffee table [a rather small one at that] with room to spare you didn't set the world on fire. Most I posted, a couple are new. Hope your Christmas was wonderful and your New Year is even better. Clockwise from bottom left. Monogram 1970 Chevelle SS, Revell Gene Snow Charger [chassis is done but was not present], Rommel's Rod, Dave Deal Van, Gene Snow's Rambunctious Charger,Tom McEwen's Mongoose Duster, 1970 Super Bee, Hippie Hemi Dragster, Dyno Don's Mustang II [with original decals. Should have went with Slixx but these originals were 5.00 and they were mint. Unfortunately, they are very thick]. My Garlits project is in the center. It's nearly finished. Just the throttle, brake and fuel lines and a few small things and it's done There are more started [like most], that just didn't make the cut do to their unfinished appearance. I had fun and this site and all of you have inspired me to keep building and strive to better myself. For that I thank you all. Bob Frias AKA: Dragline
  15. I use Duplicolor a lot and experience a bit of blushing usually. The clear coat will restore it. It has for me every time bob
  16. Box Stock? What kit is this? I likey! Bob
  17. Trumpeter need to find another line of work IMHO. EVERYTHING I have ever seen falls short. Viva Monogram/Revell!!!! Bob
  18. Very nice indeed! Tribute? I'm not familiar with the name. Please explain if you would. TIA Bob
  19. Wonderful work Harry! I need to get one of these I think. I'm watching this one. Bob
  20. Another GREAT build Roger. What's next on the workbench? I have the Ramchargers AA/FD on the bench as well as buttoning up my Garlits car. Well done and inventive. Bob
  21. Thanks to all the positive comments as well as the rest. I guess I transferred some of my current HOME stress into a post and blasted. For that I apologize to Harry and Mark. I just built a model car is all. As for 4 days? It was more like a week all told, although the assembly [and some of the fabrication] was 4 days. I'll keep my personal stress away from this board, as all of you have been nothing but nice to me all the while I've been here. As for the rivet counting? It was part of my stress, nothing more. Bob
  22. We have 20" currently [4:25] in Baltimore City proper. I'm from Mass so it's no biggie for me, however....... I stay in because very few in this city know how to deal with such accululation. See you in Jan. Bob
  23. RIDONCULOUS, in a good way. I love these kits but have never had the gumption to tackle them. My grit falls just short enough to build Tom daniels kits. Wish i had the sack to tackle one of these. This is a great build. Thanks for showing us what can be done with one. Bob
  24. Well, there we all can help you Mike. While there are "currently" no funny cars available from any kit manufacturer Revell has some kits in the works that will be available shortly. There will be 1:25 scale replicas of 1970's [of all things] cars. The first batch [i say this with all the hope of a youngster] will be of a correctly modeled Roland Leong Hawaiian AA/FC and a correct Chi Town Hustler AA/FC. I believe the other car is a Tom McEwen reissue car. All from the masters of Drag Racing, Revell. These Polar Lights cars should be available via eBay. Of course if you eBay it, nearly every car is available for the right price. Glad to inspire you even a little bit. It's beyond the scope of my building to inspire, but if i did, then I am humbled by not only your words but the spirit of my build. Good luck, and please post your "in progress" and "finished" tasks here for all to see. Welcome to the forums also. Bob
  25. Then we are good Harry. I get a little bent at times. I am enjoying myself and MY hobby. This is a place where I can share with LIKE MINDED individuals. If I wanted TOTAL accuracy I'd be a MILITARY modeler. For my purposes this is a place to share my ideas and passion for all things NHRA. I get to model TRUE replicas once a year or so. The rest of the time is a compromise of accuracy and a willingness to show others my vision of cars I love personally. I had fun with this build. Paint or panel lines are a minor issue that cloud a larger ideal. Bob
