  1. Saw this on Round 2's FB page...looks like they are working on the 70s MPC Vega Pro Stock tooling for future re-issue.
  2. For cheap 1/24th, I've found Greenlight diecast to be pretty nice.
  3. Yeah, they are my favorite retailer for Greenlight products.
  4. Greenlight's website is often out of date, the 1/24th are available from retailers like Diecast Models Wholesale or on eBay.
  5. Nice... they have these in 1/64th and 1/43rd also..I have the blue & black in 1/64th, will have to check out the 1/24th.
  6. I love how much variety he has in his collection...all sorts of vehicles and machines.
  7. Yeah, would have been nice. I didn't know about the box truck, but have the motorhome, Chrysler and Challenger in 1/64th... and the Aztek, Jesse's Monte Carlo and Skylar's Grand Wagoneer in 1/43. Jesse's Tercel wagon would have been neat. Walt Ehrmentraut's Chrysler Fifth Avenue would have been neat to see, along w/ Saul's Cadillac...and Jimmy/Saul's Suzuki Esteem from 'Better Call Saul'..
  8. Got my order of grilles today. Nice, and quick service.
  9. Actually, they did tool up the 6th gen Camaro full detail kits a few years ago. And a 4dr sedan wouldn't make sense for doing the Supernatural car. I've never seen the show, but it apparently has enough popularity for Greenlight to tool up diecast versions in 4 scales.
  10. Most 4dr CUV or SUV buyers probably moved from sedans, a lot of them are used as family haulers like minivans or wagons were in the past. I’ve been driving Jeeps for 20 years, love ‘em. Probably will get another in a few years.
  11. It's not just with families, as a single guy I much prefer a 4dr SUV over a 2dr..way easier to load things in/out of the backseat, get the dogs in and out, etc. 2drs are too much of a compromise.. In cars, I love 2dr coupes, but wouldn't want to live with the long doors in daily use (in tight parking places they are a pain).
  12. Definitely a '67...the '68 also had front parking lights that wrapped around the corners. There is a nice '67 in my neighborhood--dark blue w/ white top and wire hubcaps.
  13. MPC did a 'Street Hawk' Mustang, and that show was pretty short-lived (though that was just a rebox of an existing kit w/ no new tooling). MPC's 'Hardcastle & McCormick' kit was odd--it was the Coyote kit car body over the chassis and running gear of the Ford GT Mark IV (I wonder if the GT Mark IV body tooling is lost to history? Would love to see that one reissued).
  14. *If* they do an accurate '67 Impala 4dr ht, I can see them being able to get at least 3 releases out of it--the car from the show w/ any show-specific extras like spotlights and the custom wheels, a stock '67 Impala 4dr ht, and the obligatory Coke version.
  15. I wonder what became of the MPC '70 tooling..I have unbuilt MPC '69, '70 ht, and '70 cnv in my stash..
  16. I don't recall ever having a coupon from them, I order from them all the time...only place I recall having a discount was Tower Hobbies.
  17. Yeah, kind of pointless...new kits are new kits...
  18. I had a Bronco II back in the day...it was ok, but had manual locking hubs. I'd rather have my modern Grand Cherokee with it's heated leather seats, power moonroof, nav system, etc. It's totally an SUV, not a CUV...not on a car platform...and it is quite capable off road...it has AWD w/ 4WD low, settings for sand, mud, snow, hill descent control, etc. If I wanted more off road capability, I'd get the Trailhawk version. 2 doors were ok back in the day, but I find a 4dr way more practical. And for a daily driver, I prefer loaded with all the amenities.
  19. I turned 49 on the 28th..don't feel 'old' yet, but digging a few holes and planting shrubberies over the last couple of days had me reaching for the Aleve...my knees are killing me.
  20. I'd assume the wagon, since the long wheelbase hatchback ones I've seen pics of were MPC kits. There was also a long wheelbase stretched nose panel van funny car kit from AMT that was done as an Astre and Vega.
  21. I was out planting shrubberies this evening (humid!) and some clowns a few houses down the street were setting off fireworks..loud enough to be annoying and to get the dogs barking.
  22. Googling turns up photos, but not much in the way of narrative.
  23. I had forgotten about the Revell one... Monogram did one in 1/32nd, and the Mercury LN7 in 1/32nd also. I have only the MPC 1/25th one.
  24. The sedan delivery was car based, but there are two lines of panel trucks above it---light (red one in the previous pics I posted) and heavy duty variants. So for 40-41, Ford had 3 types of 'vans'---the car-based sedan delivery, the 1/2 ton truck-based panel, and the larger truck based panel. It's an interesting obscure topic...not sure if Chevy or other brands had such variations. These photos illustrate the differences in the 3 varieties. Car-based sedan delivery: Truck-based 1/2 ton panel: Truck-based 1 ton heavy duty panel:
  25. As I said above, the 40-41 light duty trucks (1/2 ton) had the car-like styling like the red one I posted, and the heavier capacity ones had different styling with the light pods. Like how they have been split the last 20 years between F150 and Super Duty designs. As far as I can tell from googling pics, it seems this was unique to 40-41 model years, the '42-47 generation seems to have had the same styling between the light and heavier duty models, and likewise for the late 30s. Trying to find an article about them, but Wikipedia and other resources seem to have very little about prewar WWII Ford pickups.
