The other was the curbside version of the Chrysler Turbine Car, IIRC. I assume those were repackaged X-EL era kits?

AMT Buick Oldsmobile Pontiac Reissues
Rob Hall replied to regular guy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
It was R&R...I bought one from Ray in Phoenix at the Copperstate show maybe 15 years ago, along w/a '64 Cutlass wagon and '62 Starfire. -
I had issues posting pics from my Mac and my iPhone a while back but they are ok now, hadn't tried from my iPad lately. They all seem to work fine for me.

Maybe it was planned to get the pedestrian menace up above the traffic of an 8 lane street, make them less of a target to oblivious drivers.

The Hudson brand is owned by FCA, from the AMC acquisition 30 years ago, presumably Nash also. Who knows where rights to Studebaker, Packard or Kaiser ended up..probably close to zero demand for kits from those long dead marques, though, AMT has reissued 3 Studebaker kits in recent years..

Sharp build..always liked this generation of Z. My sister had one for a couple of years--a silver 1990. It was her 4th Z (her first was a 1978). I drove it few times then---she had bought it in Arizona before moving to Boston, ended up trading it on a Saab 900 Turbo which was better in winter...

Nothing has changed. Jo-han is still dead.

Looks like a theme series...maybe they can reissue the '58 Belvedere in similar box art, with the car *not* in red.

What would YOU like to see as a model
Rob Hall replied to JeroenM3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Since I really like modern Mopars, I'd love to see kits of the new generation 2018 JL Wrangler, 2019 Ram pickup, the Dodge Challenger Hellcat, Hellcat wide body, and Demon, a WK2 Grand Cherokee (Summit, Trackhawk or Trailhawk versions would be neat), the current Charger R/T and Hellcat, current 300C. -
'64 Chevy Malibu 4-Door Sedan...Promo?
Rob Hall replied to Casey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
IIRC, F&F did a '64 Chevelle 4dr resin kit at one time. -
ERTL did a 1:18th die cast in that green. I have a couple of the original issue of the kit, may get another. It's one of the few 50s cars I really like...such a clean design with minimal trim. This site lists the green and a copper. http://www.chrysler300club.com/rcmstuff/colors.html Googling turns up pics of the copper one and a gorgeous gray one..I really like the gray. https://www.hemmings.com/magazine/mus/2011/05/1957-Chrysler-300C/3698761.html I like the copper also..found pics of one in lt blue and a yellow one also.

Neat...I had a gray Samurai rental on Martha's Vineyard back in the mid 90s...was fun to drive around the island for a weekend w/ the top off..

Chicago is fun...need to go visit friends that live there, I haven't seen them in about 15 years. Between '92-97 I went to Chicago frequently, and spent a summer there with friends in Lincoln Park when I was in grad school.

Google searches and scouring Wikipedia about obscure historical events, car platforms, etc is something I find myself doing often when I get insomnia...so much information to consume.

I looked at the list of Gil Girard roles on IMDB, didn't see anything that matched. But it does sound vaguely familiar..almost like a ChiPs episode or something I saw on late night tv..

Late April is what I've seen from a couple vendors.

As as AMT parts packs go, I've bought quite a few of the recent AMT tire sets--multiple each of the redline tire sets, whitewall and white letter tire sets. The tire sets always get my interest, wheel sets also would be interesting, esp. w/ '60s-70s style aftermarket wheels.

Buying online or brick and morter stores
Rob Hall replied to gtx6970's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Pretty much online only...don't seem to have any good hobby shops close by. -
Yes, and the '65 Olds and '65 Fairlane also..

The '69 Torino and '65 GTO were converted back to stock form in the 80s, I think...
