  1. IIRC, the Countdown Series '69 Riviera had some turbine style wheels at the optional mags. Built that one back then also.
  2. That's Heather Thomas of The Fall Guy in the pink bikini in the post above.
  3. Saw this old Dodge truck at a winery east of Erie, Pa yesterday, up near the NY state line. And saw the beastly 2019 Corvette ZR-1 convertible at the Cleveland Auto Show on Saturday...was hard to get pics w/ the crowds.
  4. Yes, that's them.
  5. The 'Countdown Series' Merc was one of the first kits I built as a kid, IIRC it had some wire spoke wheels as the custom option.
  6. I'm sure the Hobbico bankruptcy has had an impact their release schedule...already seen many kits delayed a quarter or two..
  7. The upcoming reissue is the late 80s MPC tool, been reissued as an AMT many times. The funny car kit pictured above was an AMT rebox of a Jo-han tool, however.
  8. I'm sure they will eventually offer these tires in a Parts Pack like they the did w/ the Goodyear Polyglas tires.
  9. I wasn't able to post pictures for a while, but it's working again this week for me.
  10. Considering the bumpers are plastic, I'd say it's definitely a chrome wrap...like this older Escalade..chrome wrap also.
  11. I have some of those wheels shown on the chrome tree (Mag Star?)...just can't recall *which* kit I have them with..maybe one of my '67 Galaxie annuals. .there is a modern tooling version of them in the AMT '67 Shelby...I plan to use a set of the ones from the '67 Shelby for a '69 XL..
  12. I assume that is some sort of chrome wrap on there? Stainless steel would be like the '79-ish Eldorado Biarittz roofs or a DeLorean...
  13. The big difference is the depth..the '66 wheel covers are pretty flat, while the Mag Star and Magnum 500 wheels have depth...
  14. Tuesday was surreal..was sunny and 72 at 4pm--I was driving w/ my sunroof open, not wearing a coat, saw people out and about in shorts and t-shirts. Yesterday it was 36 and raining at 4pm Today, it's cold--had freezing rain and snow this morning--now the sun is out. Very spring like weather for February..
  15. Best I still have--the '87 Mustang GT I've had since high school..need to drive it more. Only 64k miles. Had so much fun in that car in my 20s-30s in Ohio, Michigan and Colorado. Best one that got away--the '96 BMW M3 I had in Colorado in the late 90s to mid 00s. Wish I had kept it, was a lot of fun. Best all around probably was my '00 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo--put 170k miles on it over almost 17 years, it was relatively trouble free except for the last 7-8 years-had a number of electrical problems as it aged. But it got me all over vast swaths of the interior West and Southwest mostly reliably... I do love my Jeeps, love my '14 Grand Cherokee Limited..has 35k on it now, had only 25k when I got it last March.
  16. The AMT '67 annual has tow truck parts and a custom grille also....I don't believe AMT had a '68 annual? The MPC '68 annual looks a lot like the AMT '67...
  17. Yep, I remember painting those rails silver when I built the Cooter's Tow Truck kit as a kid around 1980-81...
  18. Welcome to the forums. I like Long Beach, I used to go to the Long Beach Indy Car Grand Prix most every year when I lived in Phoenix, usually stayed on the Queen Mary.
  19. The AMT 72 Chevy pickup was last reissued in the late 90s. Never compared it with the Cooters tow truck, but the cab is pretty similar IIRC. The tow truck though was issued by MPC before the ERTL era. Seems like AMT and MPC had similar or shared toOling on those trucks? I some of the older ones in my stash--AMT '67 and '69 Chevys, MPC '68 and '69 Chevys ('69 has the firetruck parts), MPC Chevy w/ Open Road camper, an AMT GMC longbed, the AMT GMC step side. There is a thread around here somewhere about these trucks. Always liked them.
  20. Interesting that they are in Indiana instead of China.
  21. Can't tell what either thing is..just big blocks of metal..no labels.
  22. Yes, there are countless threads about how unreliable Reliable Resin is...old news.
  23. It's not on their website. I got mine back around 09-10.
  24. Saw an Amphicar up close yesterday. White w a black top. Might be the first one I'd ever seen. On display in a restaurant.
